    headache

I had a banging headache for the first 2 weeks or so. I think in my case it was due to to few calories and my body learning to pull energy from itself and not eaten food and also ketosis (sp) it will pass just keep up the fluids and portion shakes
  2. @@VPAPNYC yes as far as I know it is still going on. They helped me get in some much needed nutrition when I needed it most. My nut loves them and my trainer loves them too.
  3. Oh yes, I was in your spot at week 3 through week 6. I am week 8 now and it was week 7 when it truly got better. Keep the fluids and shakes going and know that this will pass. Also, oddly enough, I started Quest protein bars at week 6 and I felt so much better. They are sugar free, have 20 grams of protein and I went yo GNC as they have them buy 2 get 1 free so I tried them prior to buying a box. I like brownie, chic chip chunk and the caloric range on the ones I have is I hunk 170 to 210 calories. 23 carbs as well. Good luck I only eat 1 per day

    Dairy deficent?

Have you tried sugar free almond milk?
  5. Look into unjury protein powders and their affiliate Opurity chewable bariatric vitamins. They are only avail online and are very reasonably priced and the vitamin is chewable and only once per day not 2 or 3 times a day. Good luck with your surgery

    Slow weight loss

@@sfie9669 don't go by what the stats next to each of our names states, as it includes pre-op weight loss AND post op weight loss, so for me I lost 33 pounds prior to sleeve and 32 since sleeve on June 12th but my stats state 65 pounds lost. Hang tough, get your fluids and protein shakes in. Also someone starting with a higher bmi than yours and men will lose it faster in the beginning. We are each on our own journey and we can't compare ourselves via amount of lost wright at the same post op days, weeks etc. Stay the course and keep checking into this site as the support here us amazing and so needed
  7. Tisa congrats and good luck Monday
  8. If you want sleeve then stick to your guns. Seems like they have to re-write anyway. Bypass and sleeve are 2 very different procedures.

    tailbone

Yep, count me as part of the painful tailbone crew
  11. OMG, I have Crohn's as well. 80% of my 150 weight gain has been from 11 years of being on and off prednisone, and I'm in my 6 th week sleeve post op and wow, I feel normal. A bm once or maybe every other day vs at a min 7 , my terminal ileum pain has been non existent, no bloating, normalcy. I had no idea thus would be a positive for my Crohn's but so happy it is.
  12. Week 1 recovering from surgery, week 2 amazing amounts of energy, now week 3 heading into week 4 I am beyond tired. I drink the fluids, I drink 2 protein shakes a day and eat 1 meal (barely) and I went back to work today after 3 weeks but I am bone weary tired. I have been exercising, take my vitamin. Is this the norm at the 3/4 week mark? Thanks

    Why am I so tired?

Just an update, I am 6 weeks tomorrow and I made a few changes and I feel pretty darn good. Upped my fluids, changed from once daily chewable vit to 3x a day capsule and added 2x a day chewable b12 and eat a quest bar when I know a true solid protein is gonna cause problems. All reviewed by my nut. Feeling ssssoooo much better, thankfully
  14. I think I will use both, as nothing keeps me compliant better than face to face, esp with my nut, that woman is a freaking mind reader, but it keeps me on the straight and narrow because I can't hide behind a keyboard and fool myself.
  15. My husband was the same, supported me but finally stated to me, isn't this very dangerous? To which I stated Not as dangerous as being morbidly obese. He looked at me and stated, you are right.
  16. All older women well off or not worry about money. My mother in law is very well off and worries excessively about it. If your motto is. Live and let live, then live
  17. Let her have the TV. what she does with her money is her business and no one else's. It's also a good example to your children about being smart with money which will allow you to treat your family to a special gift from time to time. She has been in your life for 20 plus years and is a big part of the reason behind how wonderful your husband us.

Get some gas-x it's a lifesaver. They gave it to me in the hosp. Chew two twice a day, makes a big difference. Go slow, drink, drink, drink and rest!

    Had Surgery 11/08/2013

I was going to suggest Quest protein bars as a replacement for cookies, but I see the above post from Therealmeishere beat me to it. Like anything else moderation is the key. Maybe consider 3 oz of plain Greek yogurt mixed with chocolate or strawberry protein powder which will be like a pudding. Gotta stay away from the real cookies, you have done too much hard work to move backwards now. FYI your after pic us beautiful, but then again your before pic is beautiful too

    Protien powders: Chike vs Unjury

I have unjury and you can heat it but only to140 degrees then the protein begins to break down, check their website for the specific effect over 140 degrees. The unflavored is fine in creamy soups. I don't know the diff between the 2 types of protein, but use which ever you like best and if your dr office utilizes chike then it is appropriate as per your provider.
  21. When it comes to eggs, for me scrambled is a nightmare HOWEVER fried over medium and poached medium are much easier and don't bother me as much. When I fry them I use 2 and then when I flip them over I place 1 slice of cheese and then fold it in half sunny side out The cheese gets melty.
  22. Egg is hard to start with. You are only 15 days out, so try the solid stuff early in the day and closer to bed time / night, do a protein shake just to keep things easy until you are better healed. Go slow and truly take 1 bite less than you think you should as I went through the exact same thing

    Almost to One-derland!

    What a fantastic happy moment!

    Healing time!

I have a sit at desk job but am so happy I took 3 weeks as you need to heal and figure out the whole fluids, eating, tired, etc aspect. In week 2 I thought I should have gone back to work, but then week 3 came along and I was thankful I took 3 weeks! Sorta wish I took 4, but being back still work is pretty good just make sure you plan out your foods when back, think ahead. Good luck
  25. Happiness did not reside in my pre sleeve stomach. Heartache, self loathing and at times disdain at my inability to control my weight. My sleeve is simply a method to a healthier self, not happier. I am gaining movement, freedom, less pain, greater access to a better way of eating, and if that means that I can no longer stuff myself into self loathing so be it. Will I miss large hearty food excursions, to some degree yes, but it is the only way for me, and I am already feeling greater inner peace and less disdain for my uncontrolled eating.
