    Can't eat fish

I have tried tuna fish and catfish multiple times and I just cannot tolerate it anymore. It does not seem to go down - even after chewing it to death. Then I get sick to my stomach - really - not the foamy I ate to much. I used to enjoy fish and it is high in Protein, so I guess it is now shrimp and chicken. On a high point this week I hit my halfway goal and got myself (uncomfortably) into a size 16 pants - but a 16. This is an amazing journey!

    Shrimp!

I tolerate shrimp as well, but still can't eat but 2 oz at a time. Very high Protein.
  3. Just making us a new thread now that we have found each other. How are we coping with the pre-op diet? How is your "head" - who is nervous? How is the weight loss this past week? These are just some possible things you might want to post.

Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

I am doing great! I am down a total of 62 since the beginning of the journey - 48 pounds since the start of my pre-op diet. I exercise at least 6 days a week. I still drink protein shakes because I can't get my protein in otherwise. Today is my 2 month follow up with my dr and I finally get to see a nutritionist! All I have been given was some papers on what to eat and not to eat. I do best with structure and meal ideas. I am ready to ask about carb intake, ketosis, etc. I will post what I find out.
  5. That is awesome!!! Congrats!!!!

    Happy Dance!

One day shy of my 8 week mark and I am down a total of 60 pounds since I started this journey. I lost 14 during the 3 month monitored stage, 16 during the pre-op diet, and now 30 since my surgery! It is truly amazing how different you feel when you get that much weight off of you! Excited to keep the process going!

    Best "mental factor" Books

ok, so the $3.99 book was mostly geared to those people who are still thinking about having the surgery. Out of the 125 pages, the last 25 are what I needed to read, and it was really not much more information that I kind of already knew.

    Best "mental factor" Books

I had not thought about a book on this, so I just purchased the Kindle editin of "Emotional First Aid Kit". But I think I am getting another one as well. You know how they like to suggest other books, well there is one for $3.99 Kindle only called "The Sleeved Life: A Patient to Patient Guide....." It has favorable reviews and for only $3.99 I figure I will try it. I will post more as I read it.

    So overwhelmed...

I had my surgery on 11/17 and sometimes I feel like I am flying by the seat of my pants. I got some papers to read and was told that a good multi-Vitamin was all I needed! Just aim for healthy choices and high Protein - chew slowly - drink that Water. I promise it will be ok.

    Protein Additive?

I am 6 weeks post op and looking for new foods to try that are high Protein. I am getting a bit tired of eggs, chicken, greek yogurt, and Protein shakes. I went to GNC to see if they had any products that you could add to foods - like canned Soup, to make it higher in protein without adding too many calories or carbs. I was directed to Quest Protein powder - All Purpose Mix - unflavored powder. It seems to be more like high protein Bisquick - you can bake with it, but I am not sure I would put it in my soup. Does anyone have a suggestion about adding protein to foods without changing tastes and adding too many calories? Not sure I want to spend $42 to find out that this is not what I need.

    Happy Xmas (Stall is Over)

I am happy that your stall is over - but I do have a question. Did you mean to name your post after the John Lennon song - Happy Xmas (War is Over) ? If you did, love it!

Keep waiting for the shoe to drop...

Congrats on no complications!!!! I was sleeved 11-17 and have had mild complications - if that is even what you call it. I have been nauseated a few times and have thrown up 3x. first time was trying to find full - found it. 2nd time I ate and then was doing something where I was bent over - it just came right back up, 3rd - ate to fast. I feel very blessed. I know that spicy things give me heartburn - which I never have had before, but I can deal with that. It is hard to believe that in such a short amount of time that I have changed my life for the better. Eating healthy and exercising and feeling great. I snuck 3 Cookies as well. Felt very guilty, but not dwelling on it - moving on and exercising and eating protein!

    Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?

I am exercising everyday- I am ready to see a nutritionist!!! I have not seen one yet- or not since my required visits before approval. Why mine doc is making me wait until January - I do not know.
