Went today to duke hospital and did all my pre admissions testing everything went great now just waiting I already pre register so on February 12 I have to be at the hospital @ 5:30 am from there get prepared and get wheeled back to surgery im so happy to get this blessing to take control of my life at this point and time I put my trust in god I will be fine if I have the chance to change my life now why wait until later and than changes may take place with you insurance or job and your health I say go for it make that change now =)

Kkent8704 congrats I'm glad to hear you guys great stories with your weight loss dr has already told me my weight loss will be on the slow side rather then a person with more to lose I'm 5'0 age 46 hypertension high cholesterol sleep apnea and hiatus hernia needs repaired also with surgery hoping to get down toward 130 over time I rather deal with a slow loss with working out with strength training and weighs giving it a year or however long it takes just have to stay positive and keep pushing ! Never quitting

Congrats to you yes I hear when ever your dr give you the ok start working out that's what I will be doing can't wait I had to jump through so many hoops two denials my dr never given me a sleep study and as of December 31 2014 was the last day I had payed my copay and alot of my out of pocket so I got the sleep study results and tested positive all my pre test was done I should have had my surgery in October 2014 so now its January and I have to pay all this money out again if only my dr would have ordered me to take that sleep study test earlier instead of trying to appeal

A lil delayed surgery date one month I haven't received my sleep apnea machine and the Dr said I have to have it for surgery : ( Surgery date has been moved to February 12 @ 7:20 am im not upset just gives me more time to prepare myself im so excited

Received my surgery date today!!!! IT'S THE JANUARY 12 finally a new year and new beginnings I'm ready

I'm in : ) I go for my pre surgery testing on January 7 soooo excited this has been a long process but I'm almost there don't really know what's this appointment is for but if anyone would like to share their experiences and how long after this did they have their surgery I would love to read up on it thanks

I'm waiting on the appeal approval I had to jump through all their hoops I was denied twice with high blood pressure high cholesterol I was maxed out on my meds still no approval so I had to get a sleep study and it tested positive so my paperwork was sent before Christmas holidays talked with my dr office yesterday they have a surgery date for January waiting on the appeal approval can't wait to join the other side praying for good news

I haven't had surgery yet but I'm going with Duke Raleigh they have me jumping through hoops at this moment now they are asking for a sleep apnea testing I've been on this journey starting in April

I have been approval for the 14 or15 of August ; ) sooooo excited !!!! Hooray

Yes I'm under 40 I have highblood pressure and I'm maxed on this medication

no ...I'm still jumping through their hoops . DUKE is appealing it for me . They said my bp was under control even if it was at a maxed dosage : ( everything else was ok only that so im waiting on duke.

Get you testing done and you're good to go

There is no six-month requirements with bcbs nc any more they lifted that in july this year only your dr requirements testing only...im still jumping through their hoops sad but true my dr is woo park I see him on oct 1 st they miss read me about my approval on over the phone I was so hurt so niw im appealing it good luck : )

Believe me I understand I'm year-round
