Probably the millionth hair question but.....
2happily replied to Elode's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started seeing hair on my brush at about 4-5 months post op. Now my cats an I seem to compete for hairballs that need to be swept often. I notice the loss. I'm about 90% meticulous in my vitamin/protein intake. At 7 months out no one at all has noticed any hair loss except me. My surgeon says his patients start to regrow hair at about the 2 year mark. As always that seems sooo far away. But guess what!? That time will pass anyway without any effort on our part. So even if you have hair loss, it will balance out over time. The rest if the changes we get to go through sure are wonderful aren't they!!! High 5 to the good healthy intake of protein/nutrients! -

A bit sad and worried

I can't even begin to tell you how WONDERFUL it feels to be almost 100 lb healthier (98 lb loss as of today ) my family was supportive, but quick to say it would be ok if I didn't have a surgery. They were so ready to point out I was voluntarily having an operation. How ecstatic I am that I held fast to my decision! Every day, yes every single day I feel hopeful, so pleased with my life and body changes, so ecstatic that so much pain in my knees and feet are GONE. You will probably be able to run and play with your kids, enjoy shopping, enjoy food because a little goes a long way and you appreciate every bite, you can take stairs, take walks, and jumping on the scale makes you SMILE! The choice is with you ultimately. However, you don't get any different results by doing the same things you've done before! Smile and enjoy making decisions for yourself. Whatever choice you make, you will have someone happy with that choice. -

Don't worry and stick with it!! I weigh almost every day because it brings me joy. Some days I lose nothing others 2-3 lbs.a couple of days I've been up 4-5 lbs only to drop like a rock the next day. As long as you're paying attention to your habits, you will be successful!! This journey we're on is wonderful. Every day you are re - creating yourself. Enjoy!

Isopure drinks are recommended by many people. We also make beef, chicken and vegetable stock from scratch (store bought in the square carton is yummy too) and to that I mix in my unflavored protein powder. Eggface has a blog with excellent recipes at every stage.

The pre - op diet was THE hardest time for me!! If you can, focus on lots of water, and how wonderful you will feel soon!! Really soon if your surgery is tomorrow. Fantastic job getting this far! You'll be doing the happy dance in no time. -

Complications With Band..Scare Tactics?
2happily replied to HalloweenBaby24's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Weight loss surgeries have come a long way in the past few years. My family was fearful at first too. I'm only three weeks out but this FEELS like one of the best decisions I've ever made. It took me several months of documentation (diet/medication/ exercise/support groups like weight watchers and Curves) before being submitted to my insurance. That is part of my insurance companies requirements. I used all of that time to really explore this (surgical) option. I started working out and eating healthy. Weight slowly, and I mean s l o w l y, came off. But I could lose a couple weeks progress at 1 potluck and gain everything back plus more. I do agree with the writer that this is ALL about if YOU are ready for the lifestyle/dietary changes. Without changing your lifestyle you can't expect your body to magically change. Trading in the cycles of hunger and overeating, anger at self and then more sadness when clothes shopping is a pretty simple trade off, in my humble opinion, for healthy food and exercise choices. WLS is just a tool. The work is up to you. It's super nice to have new and improved tools though!! -

June sleevers, check-in!
2happily replied to cutiecake's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved June 9 and no regrets whatsoever!! Having a little difficulty with slowly sipping. Such a habit to gulp down as much water as possible that now sipping a protein drink or liquids is something I have to think about. Just started a little bit of pureed foods. Its so fantastic to not be hungry all the time! Is anyone exercising very much yet? -

Vacation after Gastric Sleeve Surgery
2happily replied to NavyMom6's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved June 9. I've had no pain and other than a couple of days my energy level has actually increased! To me, the timing of your trip looks very do-able. I agree that having water is the most important thing to remember. I still drink broth too, with unflavored protein powder mixed in. Still my go to meal. Hope you have a wonderful vacation!!
