  1. Dear Friends, I had become utterly dismayed with my band. For so long it was too tight, causing me to become a maladaptive eater. I basically drank sugary liquids instead of eating food. While I didn't gain weight, I didn't lose either. Finally, I saw the lap band nutritionist and I've lost 15 pounds in a couple of weeks by cutting sugar and counting calories on MyFitnessPal. The app has helped me tremendously and I am back on track. Just had my band tightened a tiny bit (had it loosened a lot a few weeks ago) and now I feel I am FINALLY in the green zone. Not too loose, not too tight. I am getting full sooner but not throwing up. Feels good to be starting over again.
  2. Hello, I had my surgery 2 years ago. After six months of constant throwing up/gagging/getting stuck, I started to eat virtually only liquids. Very little solid food. Unfortunately, all sugary drinks (Starbucks, Jamba Juice) to fill myself. I developed an actual panic when I started to eat solid food thinking I was going to choke. Fortunately, after nearly a year of ignoring it, I am back on the wagon. I have seen the lap-band nutritionist, who is getting me to finally kick sugar with the help of some supplements, and loosened my band. It's a long struggle and I'm terrified of not losing weight. My net weight loss after 2 years is only 30 pounds and I'm deeply depressed about my situation and feeling hopeless. I feel I don't know how to use the band properly. Anybody else feel this way?

    Almost a year ...

You are AMAZING and an inspiration. After 2 years I have lost only 30 pounds and am profoundly depressed. I started drinking sugary liquids to fill myself, out of a fear of getting stuck and throwing up (which happened to me very severely). I am trying to start anew and thank you for being such a role model.
