    Need Doctor in new york

If you can make it out to Syosset, Long Island ( not even an hours drive from Manhattan ) I highly recommend Dr.Alan Geiss at North Shore Long Island Jewish in Syosset. He banded me a month ago, and I'm down 22 pounds. The man is an artist and a pioneer. The hospital, his office, his staff, and support team is nothing but fantastic. This was my first surgery ever, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. See his site at Laparoscopic Surgery in Long Island – LAP BAND® Surgery for the New York Area . P.S. This hospital is a smaller specialty type setting, specifically geared towards bariatric surgery. I give it 5 stars!!! Please let me know if you contact them! Frank

Irrational Fears (phobias and the like)

Fear of dropping dead from obesity. Main reason for me to be banded. Always said that I didn't want a doctor monkeying around me unless it was an emergency. Being 46, 5'6", 300 lbs, with a blood pressure topping at 230 over 110, the emergency slowly became obvious. Good luck banders! I'm gonna loose 100 lbs...

    Dr. Geiss in NY?

Hi, Just been banded by Dr Geiss on 9/26/07, and I gotta say what a great experience I had. And NSLIJ Syosset is one sweet hospital. This was my first surgery ever, and I was totally amazed with how smooth it went. I was banded in the am, and by 10pm I was doing laps around the ward. Left the next day and although I'm not back to work just yet, I feel almost 100%. I'm on a 2 week liquid diet, and admit that I'm having gas issues and the 'squirts', but think that's due to the dairy aspect of the diet. Now mixing shakes with water. Took out my boat for a spin today (5 days post op) and had a ball! Good luck! Dr Geiss rocks
