My daughter has been sick :sick and her voice teacher said she in not ready for her recital. So now it is planned for May 18. I will let you know if it changes and the details. Sorry about this.

Well I was told my paper work went to the insurance company on yesterday. Now I found out that I may need a letter from my PCP. So I will get that lined up. I have my Phyc Report that has to get the surgeon. That that is good! BUT then today I get a call from the Sleep Study Ctr. The Dr wants another sleep study. :angry It can not be done until April 15. :angry :angry Then it’s another 2 week for the report :angry :angry :angry and then 3 weeks that I will need to be on a CPAP :angry :angry :angry :angry before I can have surgery. So now we are looking for the end of May.:angry :angry :angry :angry :angry I have a graduation out of town the end of May and then I have a business trip June 12th that I have to work around. :)

The recital is free. It's the other stuff you want to do in NYC that will cost. I do not have a full agenda sent up but I know I will be leaving in the morning on Sat about 8AM. Should get to NYC around 1-2 PM depending on traffic. We will stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I have to pick up a lady in Philly. Then coming home sometime Sun afternoon/evening. Things depend on the weather and what everone wants to do. It is not fun if it is cold and raining. One of the ladies is coming back early Sun because her daugher is in a concert in DC Sunday afternoon. It about 200 miles to NYC and with the cost of tolls and gas it is about $75.00 if you get 20 MPG. I have the EZpass which make it easy to get thur the tolls. The hotel is in Jersey with an express bus stop across the street. We might want to get half price tickets to a Broadway show. I will send you an email.

Marcelle, Not all the meeting have been in Bowie. We sometime meeting Annapolis and in Handover near I695. I am willing to have a meeting at me house in Severn. Maybe you can come to that meeting. Or if you know of a place around where you live you can make a suggest to the group to meet there. Hope this helps and We are looking forward to meeting with you too. BarbaraC :biggrin1:

I am a federal employee. I do not and have not have BCBS but I do know that a few people have tied to get them to approval the band and all have been turned down. I also read where one was approved had the surgery then had to pay the money back since it was not a covered procedure. I had Kaiser HMO last yr and they would not pay for lap band so I changed to GEHA who is approving the band this yr. So my advice is wait for the open season then change co. In the mean time get going the at least 6 month Physican diet. Good luck

:nervous Well Dr Singh's office called today and said that she needed my current blood work ( it got misplace from the original package) and then she would be submitting my package to the Ins Co. She also said she had a time trying to find out who to send the package to but she finally got the address. She wanted to fax it the ins co said she had to mail the package. So it will go out today or Monday, depending on when she gets the blood work paper work. My PCP said she will FAX the blood work over to Dr Singh office today. So maybe I will know something in about 2 weeks. :D :D

I’m HERE and I want to say congratulations on your weight loss. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Now if I can just get all my paper work into the surgeon then I will be on the losing side too. I am having the most trouble getting my Phyc report. I started the process 6 weeks ago. FAX the release 2 times since they lost the first one. Then they sent the report to my old PCP office who lost it. Now they tell me that it will be in the mail tomorrow and I should have it by Sat. I should have just done it again with the surgeons Dr. Now watch my Ins Co will say it’s too old and kick it back out. I had the eval Feb 2005. Hate to have to pay $150.00 to have it done again. Sorry about the babble but I just pissed. :cry :cry :faint: :angry :angry :angry :angry

OK I should have read more posts before I asked. :faint: I am so glad she is now banded. GET WELL SOON MY TURN NEXT. I am still having probems getting my paper work to the surgeon. Hope I get it to him tomorrow.

Dr. Michael Sweitzer ...Good Surgeon???
BarbaraC replied to jenwillhaveu's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
:biggrin1: I have heard he was a good surgeon but it take a long time to get an appt and a long time to get scheduled for surgery. I called in Oct and the first available appt was the end of Feb. Good Luck. -
Just talked to Karen and Connie is doing good. She is out of surgery and staying in the hospital for the night. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

First of all Connie I am so proud of you. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: According to my Doc I do not have to do a pre op diet but he wants me to walk 2 times a days as far as I can, catch my breath and do it again. So that is my new goal to walk as far as I can 2 times a day. Today and yesterday I had to go downtown Baltimore and park my car several blocks from where I had to go. Today my GH was with me and he had to help me walk to keep up with him. Used to be he had to keep with me. I am so out of shape. But I will get there.

:help: After an insurance company gives you an approval does any know if there is a time limit before it expires.
-
Thanks for your reply. I asked because my daughter in college wants the surgery and has to try and do it around her schedule or after the graduation in May. She will be off my ins in August so I would like it done ASAP. She has a consultation next month during her spring break. BarbaraC

Move you scale around the house and see if there is a difference. My scale weighs me 5# less on carpet. At one weight loss center, years ago they put a piece of wood between the scale and carpet and stated that it weigh correctly. Barbara

I am soooooo HAPPY for you. I am jumping up and down - not literally I'd break something and go:faint: . But I am doing the happy dance. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: See you Sunday. Barbara

I will be there. :biggrin1:

Stocky, I am so sorry that you need more info. Wish I had some good answers for you. Some of this sounds like your Lap Band Dr or office did not put the package together correctly. But t's a good thing that you called the Ins Co. You may have not heard from them for a coulple of weeks so you could be ahead of the game. Is there another Dr that could give you a physical faster? I called my PCP's office and told them I wanted the first available with whoever was free. They have your records and anyone could do it. Also has you lap band Dr given you a surgery date yet? :spider:

Congraulations to Karen  and Stocky :grouphug:. I am praying for both of you. :gluck:
