I am home from my Colonoscopy and EGD procedure. The EGD was done because of my upcoming lapband surgery. During the EDG the surgeon found a polypoid lesion which is being sent for a biopsy which the surgeon did not think was a big deal. He just said that it was unusual to find one there. I glad I had this procedure and had it is removed. This lesion may have caused a problem with the band later or even worse become cancerous in the future. I will update after I get the results of the biopsy.

Not sure about the Polyp. I did some research but now all I have is more questions. Thanks for the prayers. I'm sure that it will turn out OK. Talk to you on Sunday. Barbara

Not sure at this time. I thought the Doc said in the esophagus but the paper work stated at the stomach antrum? Will talk to him tomorrow.

Hello Mdlitchick. Yes I am going to be banded by Dr. Singh at St Agnes, some time next month. I just received my letter of approval on Sat. YAAAA. Hope to see you at the support meeting on April 30th in Upper Marlboro. Also are you going to the support meeting at St Agnes?

I do not have the letter yet but I called GEHA again was told that as of April 12 I was approved. Now I have to finish the sleep study get on the CPAP for several weeks before the surgeon will do the lapband. Another step closer. I hope I will have the surgery by the end of May.

Thanks for the reply. As for Leona, her recital at the present time it is schedules for May 18 at 4 PM. Although it still may change due to a conflicts with her voice teacher. I will let everyone know as soon as things get settled. :Banane04:

Still no word from the ins. co.:mad: but I do have good news I just finished y stress test the heart is just fine. :clap2: No blockages and it pumps great too.:clap2: The doctor sounded very surprised. :clap2: So one more step closer. :clap2: I did call the ins. co. on Monday and I was told by somebody that I was approved. That I was approved on March 30th! She went on the say the code number that was approved and the documents that should be in the mail. :Banane04: I was so happy and not thinking at the time, that was the day that they received the package. So I hung up and called the surgeon and while talking to them, I realized that March 30th was the date they received the package!! :frusty: Boy was I mad I called ins. co. back. :frusty: Another person looked at ins. case and said that there was no way it was approved already. :angry They only had it for 6 business days and there was a back log of requests in house. She went all through the documents and said it was still being reviewed and I asked again if any thing was missing. She said no. I should know something in the net few weeks. Well I think I will be calling every few day to see the status.:mad:

:welcomeB: I too am not banded but soon to be. My package is at the ins. com and hope to hear an approval any day. My surgeon wants an overnight less then 24 hour stay and I will be at St Agnes in Baltimore. Most Doctors are doing this surgery in about an hour and on an out patient basis. BTW we have a support group that meets once as month and usually on the 3rd Sunday. Keep your eye on this web site for details we would love for you to come.

:update: Called Insurance company today and they said they received the paperwork it yesterday. Has to go the medical review board and could take a few weeks. Just as long as I am approved I do not care still stuck with other sleep and stress tests. One step closer and two back!! Barbara :tired :nervous :paranoid

I just wanted to let everyone know that Leona is having her senior recital :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: in NYC at Juilliard on April 8 at 8:30PM. That is a Saturday night. I am going of course and have a couple of seats in my van still available if anyone would like to go. I will be leaving Sat morn and coming back on Sunday. I have reservations at a hotel in Jersey for $100.00 a night and that cost will be split by the amount of people in each room. ( two double beds each) Food can be any price depending on where you eat. There are cheap hot dog stand to expense full course restaurants. BTW Greyhound has some really good internet prices too. Let me know if you are interested.
