He also check to make sure that the first 1.5 cc was still there, no problem. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: So I am on liquids for the next two days. Oh!!!! and I am now down to 284 :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: so that makes a tolal of 36#'s since June 26. So glad that the scale is going now. So I may make 50# by the new year. I`would email them and find out. From what I have learned BCBS does not cover the band. GEHA a national Fed Ins Co does cover it. I had to change Inc co this past open season to get it covered. Good Luck

Hi everyone, I'm an opera singer, and 2 and a half weeks out. I tried to sing today and now I feel soooo discouraged because I'm a soprano and I couldn't sing the high notes and I was out of breath- I mean my breath support is CRAP! Is anyone out there a singer- any kind of singer? How long did it take you to get back into the swing of things? I have an audition on Aug 29th that I need to prepare for, so I was just wondering if doing the audition would be even possible. Thanks and good luck to all of you!

What is the difference between a 10CM and 10CC band? I have a 10CM Inamed band and was wondering how many fills it may take to get a good restriction.

whoops I'm actually Leona06, I signed in on my mom's computer and forgot to log her out!

My daughter had problems with the jello and pudding as well the first time she tried it. She was banded on July 5th and ate a jello cup and a pudding cup for dinner one night. She was in pain for 2 days and went back to creamy and clear liquids again. She hasn't tried pudding or jello since then, but is going to try again on monday when the doc puts her on mushies.

Sorry I missed your birthday. Busy trying to heal and get Leona ready for her big day. Hope you enjoyed your birthday. I was also busy with making ice cream for my special treat for the 4th. :happybday2:

Like Keekahari said everyone needs to take care of themselves and their family first. I do not post a lot either but I do read all that is posted. Most of the time after reading I do not feel like posting or ever responding unless I can add something that was not all ready posted. Hope that you are doing well. Come back when you have the time. Hello All Leona's home and wants me to post this for her: Thanks for your prayers. I am in lot of pain today and having problems getting in and out of bed. Mom has to help me but it is better then sleeping in the recliner. Well I am tired so I am going back to bed. Leona06

Well it has been a long day. Leona arrived at the hospital a little before 9 AM for a 11 AM surgery. They were able to start early and in less time then it took for me to watch a move they were done. She was in her room by 1:30. She is moving around with less pain then I had, for which I am so glad. Well I am tired so I am going to bed.

:clap2: Hello all, Well it has been 1 week now :clap2: and I feel a lot better. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: I still have one spot that still hurts but it too is getting better. Now I hope that Leona does better then I did. Those first two days were really rough :sick and wondered if I wanted her to go though with the surgery but she really want this so please say your prayer :help: on Wednesday that all goes well. I will let you all know something around 9PM that night when I return from the hospital.

A little info on my surgery. I am feeling m,uch better now and thanks to all who prayed for me. Now I get to worry about my daughter and her surgery. St Agnes hospital in Baltimore was the greatest. The nurses could not have been better. Every time I rang the buzzer they were there with smiles on their faces. I arrived at 5:30 for my 7:30 surgery. But since all my pre-op admitting paper work was not in the computer, the nurse had to put it all in and she said that pre admitting was going to hear about it. I was told later that my surgery was late getting starting because of it. After that I was given some happy juice. I arrived in the operating room and they used some type of air mattress that moved me from one bed to the operation table. It was so cool and the move was efferent less. After surgery I was told I was not breading deep enough and my oxygen levels were low. The nurses kept telling to bread deeper and soon that was OK, however I had problem breathing on sleeping on my back. Then I was taken to my room and at 11 AM I was up and walking. The nurses said I was doing great to get our of bed so early. I felt like crap for the first 2 days lots of gas pains. I kept asking myself “WHY DID I DO THIS!!” On the second day I had the X-ray to see if the Fluid was going through. It was neat to see the band inside if me. It took like 45 minute for the fluid to start moving through and the Dr doing the test said the band looked good and it was usual for the band to do this. He told me think about eating because it happens when one is not hungry. I did run a slight fever but it did not keep me it the hospital. Today I am sore like I was pounced in the stomach. My DH was great too. He stayed at the hospital which was unusual for him. He hates hospitals. I was able to come home at 5PM on Tuesday. I had a rough time sleeping went from the recliner to the bed, back and force until I finally was able to sleep. Today I feel a lot better and have been doing the same thing going from the recliner to the bed, back and force. Well at least the bad part is over for me anyway.

Teresita, I am even going to miss Leona singing this weekend. She is doing my shopping too.

Hello all I am home from my vacation and business trip. I am afraid that I will not be able to make it on Sunday. I am very tired and I have some work that I need to complete before my surgery. So I am working all weekend. My supervisor already emailed me last week asking if it was done. I will be at the next meeting I promise. Have fun BarbaraC

I am sorry but I will be in Memphis for training. I have a week of training then a week of Vacation then home to be banded. See you guys in July. Leona will try to come.

I wish you all the luck with GEHA and hope they approve you. Maybe if you have a history of weight loss attemps they may take that into consideration.

I have GEHA and had no problem with getting an approval for the band. You do have to do a 6 month Dr supervised diet. Your BMI is high enough. Mine is 55. It took them 2 week to make a decision. Hope this helps. Barbara. PS there are others that I have read about here that also have GEHA and also no problems getting an approval.
