I went to a support group today. I had been to one before but not at the actual place where my surgery will be. I love all of the heads up from other patients. One was 4 years out, one was about a year out and others that I wasn't sure.

That's fantastic. I traveled about 100 miles to my surgeon so going to their support group meetings won't really be convenient for me. You've inspired me to make a point to call the bariatric programs in my town to see if their support meetings are open to outsiders. Glad it was a goo experience for you!

Wow, I'm excited for you. I am not as far in the process as you. I hope you keep coming here. Most of the stuff I have found was written a few years ago. So happy to see now that there are others just getting started. I can't wait to see you posting along your journey. C

I know what you mean. I felt that way the first time I went. Now I've been going for a few years and I don't get the stares that I expected to get. In fact, many people are supportive. I've actually had a few people make positive comments to me. I did a training package to learn how to use the equipment; very glad I did that. Good luck.

Wow, it thrilled me to read all of the responses. I really don't have anything to add; just that I'm glad to see the support that goes on here. I had so much I was going to say, until I read all the great responses.
