What is one guilty pleasure you cannot give up
chip305 replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I still love my coffee but the way I justify it is to use Premier Protein vanilla shake in place of creamer and then add sugar free flavoring, usually vanilla or hazelnut. Still yummy but I get some protein with it. At least you drink yours black I have to have some kind of cream and sugar in mine. -

Bonnyr, I have the same question, I am 4.5 months out and down 82 lbs, I still have a ways to go but soooo cold all the time. I hope sunny summer weather gets here soon! BRRRR
-
I am now 3 1/2 months out and honestly I never had trouble with anything I ate. I feel like I have to be extra diligent with what I eat and how much because I feel like I could overdo very easily. I weigh and log everything that goes in my mouth for that reason. The up side is I have no fear of trying new exciting foods because nothing bothers my ironclad sleeve.

I was sleeved 12/2/14, I lost 26 prior to surgery and 53 since surgery for a total of 79 lbs. gone FOREVER!! Even more exciting, I have went from a snug 18W pants to a 12!!! I transformation has been unbelievable, I look good in clothes. Sure, out of clothes I look like a melting candle LOL but that's ok, I'm extremely happy with the decision I made to have surgery, It's not easy and sometimes it's not fun but the end results are so worth it. I have about 30 lbs. to go to hit the goal that my Doc set for me. When I started looking into surgery I never dreamed that in such a short time I could feel so much better physically and mentally.

Starting out at age 45? How common?
chip305 replied to KS123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was 47 when I had surgery, one of the best decisions I ever made! -
I am 13 weeks postop and have not had any bloodwork done yet, just wondering if this is unusual. I have an appt. with my surgeon this week and am planning to ask him but just curious, especially since I am losing a lot of hair.

What's your favorite tried and true go to meals or snacks?
chip305 replied to Debbieduck4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I make a crustless quiche that I eat everyday. You can change up the flavor profile by what you add. My favorite is bacon, swiss, green onion, roasted red peppers and mushrooms. 5 eggs 1 C cottage cheese Any cheese, veggies, seasoning or meat you want to add. I also add 1 or 2 scoops GENEPRO to up the Protein. Just whip together and pour into a greased pie pan. Bake at 400 F for about 30 - 35 minutes. Makes 6 good size portions. -

Hospital stay and How long were you out of work?
chip305 replied to Vikingsfan8178's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the hospital for 2 nights. Off 4 weeks, physically I could have gone back sooner but I have a mentally taxing, very detailed job and I felt mentally fuzzy so I took longer than the 3 weeks my Dr. recommended. -
At my appointment with my Nut today, she said that I should not be using any protein suppliments, I should be able to get 60 - 80 g of protein from the foods I eat. I am supposed to have 500 to 600 calories a day, 3 meals a day and no snacking. What is everybody else eating to meet these requirements? I am 7 weeks out.
