Is that 32 lbs including pre op loss? That's a great amount to have lost in such a short time. Good on you Cindy.

November Nymphs Lets Talk Weight Loss!
Sades replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Great weight loss non-nymph... feels good doesn't it? Glad to hear your first fill went well longhorn (& others). -
Now you're scaring me. Mine is still red and a little warm but has not spread. How did yours look when it first started?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

I come here to see what's happening with people and how their progress is going. I like to compare my progress... making sure that I'm doing okay. It's also another form of addiction... keeps me occupied when I'm not working or out with friends. I also have a couple of other sites I go to (not lapband sites) which help as well.

In case you didn't get it the first time, I was only kidding !!! :heh: :heh: :heh:

I have lost 27 lbs since surgery, most of it in the first 4 weeks. I expect it will slow up, especially since I don't have a lot of restriction. Last time I was on a diet, it took me around 6-8 months to lose the same amount... how can I not be happy with my current result. :whoo::whoo:

Since surgery, I have lost 27 lbs... last weigh in Thurs 13 Nov. -
Well you'll all be pleased to know that the infection didn't spread and I didn't DIE overnight.

I can understand that Longhorn. Everyone knows about me as well but I still don't want to be bombarded by all and sundry.

Support forum for the positive aspect of banding only
Sades replied to rebandit's topic in Rants & Raves
I agree Steph, I read all the posts, positive and negative, and the negative ones scared me but I too kept thinking I hope I am one of the positive ones. So far so good... except for the port infection which started up tonight. Waiting to see if it gets any worse before going to the hospital. -
Well said IndioGirl, couldn't have said it better myself. It is hard for most people on here. I was having dinner with family tonight.. me with my 1 egg and a bit of bread and them stuffing their faces. I said I would love to be able to eat like that again but then said it was that which got me here in the first place. I had to have SURGERY to stop this craziness and get my health back. I have been lucky with my journey so far so I feel for anyone going through this the hard way. Bigb, it sounds like the therapist you seeing isn't helping... tell her you need her to work with you on this. If that doesn't work find someone else. In the end, though, it is still up to you to do this. Talk to your doctor about a better fill and see how that works. Good luck.

I had a fill on Wednesday and I just noticed that it is a little red and slightly warm around the port area. Looks like it might be infected. I wish I had noticed it earlier... it's almost 10pm here.

Thanks Holly. You're doing really well too.

Good one Holly.. how exciting! I have lost 27 lbs since surgery and I'm so happy. I'll be even happier when I hit 50! :whoo::whoo::clap2::clap2::clap2:

Hi there. I had my first fill on Wed and that was the same day as my work xmas party and then we had a xmas lunch the next day. I had no problem with food or drinks. Mind you, my fill was conservative, 2 mls in a 10 ml band. I was told it was okay to eat, as long as it was soft food.

So Disappointed In Myself...
Sades replied to lizzie_07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good on you Lizzie... glad to hear you're feeling better. This is a journey so there will always be ups and downs... remember we're here to applaud you or help you out of the mud. Take care. -
Happy to help when I can Josh. Lots of info here for those times when there's no-one to talk to. Good luck, you'll feel great once the weight starts coming off.

I had my first fill today. My dr only put 2mls in a 10ml band. It was quick and didn't hurt at all. It did make a lot of difference. I went to a work xmas party and was able to eat the finger foods being served and 2 glasses of white wine. Lucky I did some dancing as well to get rid of some of the cals. I haven't had much of a problem with hunger so far so am happy with this amount of fill for now.

I haven't had the dreams but there are times where I have these thoughts that I will forget I have the band and just swallow a mouthful of food and choke on it. Silly thoughts which I'm sure come from being anxious.
-
Congratulations Jalee. It certainly will be a Merry Christmas for you and for all of us.

Welcome Josh. It's a big step to take but definitely worth it. I'm from Sydney and was banded on 1 Nov. Have lost 12 kilos so far and am extremely happy with the result. Being nervous and excited at the same time seems to be a very common thing... I was so anxious that I couldn't stop eating and put on weight prior to the op. Good luck with your journey and keep us posted. :whoo::whoo:

i am staying on plan today because ...
Sades replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am staying on plan today because yesterday I went to a work xmas lunch and pigged out (for a bander that is) and had a very tiny piece of my niece's birthday cake in the evening. -
So Disappointed In Myself...
Sades replied to lizzie_07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear that Lizzie, I would be feeling the same if that happened to me. It's not easy if you don't have restriction. You just have to put this negativity behind you and get back to it. It's important that you talk to your doctor about this when you get your fill next week. I'm sure he'll say you're not the first person this has happened to. Change your ticker, you won't be judged here, just supported because "here by the grace of god go we". Don't be hard on yourself, just use this energy towards making this a positive experience. Take care. -
I get my first fill this Wednesday. I have been sailing through this so smoothly that I hope it doesn't end there. Don't want to be PBing etc. I don't think my doc puts too much in because the nurse told me I won't have a problem going to my dept xmas lunch the next day. Only time will tell.

Hey Lizzie, it works. On Sunday, I was eating a not so ripe nectarine and of course even though I started feeling a little tight, I decided to take another bite... big mistake. It just sat there. I tried to throw up but got scared so stopped. I thought okay, I've read the stories so I'll give it a shot. I didn't have pineapple juice but I had a small sip of apple juice and couldn't believe how it fixed it within a few seconds it had slid down. :whoo::whoo:
