Hi Greeneyez, I'm from Sydney and was also banded by the doctors at the Nth Shore WLS. I am now 7 weeks out and have lost 12.6 kilos... very happy with the result so far. Good luck with your search for a doctor. Hi Danna, how are things going? You look like you're losing well.

Japan is such a long way away, so it is good that he's back in the USA. I don't have any kids myself, never got married either... never met the right guy. Did I mention I am a commitment phobic?? I have 8 nieces & nephews so they help any maternal instincts. I have low fat jelly & custard in the fridge as well. It's all the socialising that I have been doing that has been the killer because the type of food you eat out is not as good as home. Anyway, despite all my whining, I just weighed myself and have lost another pound. Not much but better than putting any on! :whoo::whoo:Now the plan is to get out there on the pavement on the weekend and lose more.

Good on you :whoo::whoo:... you got there before I did. I haven't weighed myself for 3 days but I doubt if any weight has come off. We're still a week off from the new year so it could happen yet. Congratulations to New_Me as well. :whoo::whoo:

Same age, same band date... we obviously woke up about our health at the same time. Aussies & Texans... I can kind of see the similarity... I met a couple of Texans in one of my previous jobs... love the accent... you know "ya all". I will be off work for just over a week, so back at work on 2 Jan. I work as an executive assistant with a big global IT company. I have been getting hungry ... I am finding I want something to eat sooner than I did in the first 4-5 weeks. I haven't weighed myself in 3 days but was stable at my last weigh in. I'm not worried if I lose it slowly, just don't want to put any back on. I definitely don't want my band too tight... still want to enjoy life. I've had a couple of wines over the last few weeks with all the work xmas parties. Must say I am ready to lose the next few kilos though. I plan to do a lot more exercise over the holidays. Enjoy the time with your son. Where is he stationed?

What a bummer. I am already hungrier than I was and I'm trying not to over do it but another month to wait... hope things don't go crazy in that time. We'll just have to urge each other on. :clap2: :clap2:

I called the doctor's office to book my 2nd fill and the first available is 23 January. They said they will call me if there's a cancellation before that. I definitely need a little more restriction at the moment.

i am staying on plan today because ...
Sades replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am staying on plan because I am able to eat more at the moment and want to lose more weight, not gain any of what I have lost already. -
I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such a bad time. I can't relate to most of what you're going through but must say money issues always put people in a bad way emotionally and as we turn to food when under stress I'm not surprised you are over eating. I still owe money for this but am trying not to let it get to me... easier when you're single. I suggest you go see your doctor for a fill which will at least help with restriction and once the weight starts coming off it will alleviate some of the stress. That way you will feel it was worth all this. Good luck.

DID you GAIN OR LOSE WEIGHT POST-OP BEFORE YOUR FIRST FILLS.
Sades replied to LovingWhatIs's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I lost 27 lbs in the first 5-6 weeks but nothing in the last week. I have been eating more in the last week so I am grateful I haven't gained anything. Looks like I have to get back to basics to start losing again ... second fill in Jan 08. -
I wish I could say that Cindy... mine is quite the opposite. I hope my next fill has more restriction. How much fill did you get?
-
I have to agree that once you start, it's hard to stop... this has been my problem the last week or so... all those xmas parties and food. I try to stick with the plan but have noticed that I want more food than I was having. I so desperately want to get through xmas without too much damage but with my current level of restriction I'm afraid that I will go in the wrong direction. So far no weight gain but the idea is to lose. Good luck getting through this.

Well I can eat a lot more now than I have been. I haven't put on any weight but haven't lost anything in a week. I definitely need more restriction. Hopefully my 2nd fill will do that.

band cut my stomach open too tight

I'm so sorry to hear of your dilemma. I'm sure there will be a doctor who can help you through this. My thoughts are with you. Please keep us posted. -
Okay, you're on! 197. here we come!!

I am okay with willpower when I'm working but if I am bored, then watch out. I still feel a little tight if I overdo it but I really need another fill to get back to that amazing weight loss I had in the first 5 weeks. Good luck to everyone going through the xmas period... I'm going to have to do more walks to ensure I don't put on weight.

Thanks Steph, if I keep having little treats it may not happen !! You're doing great... I'm sure you'll achieve fantastic things. Being younger, your weight loss will be much quicker than mine. :whoo::whoo:
-
Wow Nigel, what an achievement !! Congratulations and I can only hope that I get to a point where I can just be a normal size. I too wish I had discovered it sooner... just think Nigel, you discovered it 12 years agewise before I did.

202 lbs and plan to be there before xmas...
-
I know what you mean Longhorn, I don't want to be feeling sick to know I have restriction. I just don't want to be able to eat so easily. I definitely over did it yesterday... counted around 1500 cals... not good. I have been on less than 900 cals most days. Weekends seem to be the worst for me... too much time on my hands! Looks like I need to be more disciplined until my next fill.
-
My first fill hasn't made a lot of difference... I can eat anything I want so far. I will get a second one in the new year. My weight loss is definitely slowing down but continued right through the mushies stage. I'm happy with the results but am ready to get the next 5 kgs off.

I went to the medical centre today and the dr gave me antibiotics to take and told me to call my surgeon on Monday. Hopefully it will clear up.

does anyone have feelings for their lapband doctor?
Sades replied to mylapspirit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't fallen for my doctor but it is easy to do when you are seeing an attractive, kind caring person on a regular basis. Remember, you are the most important person to them while you are in session and who doesn't feel special when they get that kind of attention.
