    Hi from downunder

Hi Amy & Danna. You guys are doing really well. I am doing well Amy but it's a bit frustrating at the moment... finding it hard to control my intake. Those damn steroids are not helping. I know things will be easier when I'm back at work... not a lot of time to think about food. I also need a lot more restriction.. am going to push to get it earlier than planned.

    New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year to everyone... 1. Get my finances in better shape 2. Lose 20-25kgs 3. Be happier (whatever it takes) 4. Find a job I truly enjoy or love the one I have a bit more

    Hi from downunder

Thanks Saleel, I am happy with the loss but I've really slowed since I can eat so much more. I'm on leave so have too much time on my hands and I've also been on steroids for the last week for a major allergy attack and I don't think they are helping.

    Countdown to Onederland!

If only it was just chocolate in my case Patty ... I hit onederland a couple of days ago but I can eat anything at the moment and I'm afraid I may have put some back on. I didn't put any on over xmas but I think I'm tempting fate. I have been walking each day but today was pretty full on foodwise. My next fill is 23 Jan... too far away, so I'm calling to see if I can get in sooner.

2008 - The year the Whale died

Congratulations on your surgery date. I had my op because I didn't want to end up like my mum and sister who both died too young. I have lost 13 kilos since my op on 1 Nov. Good luck and good on you for your decision.

    Hi from downunder

Hi Thistledo & others, I'm from Sydney and was banded on 1 Nov and have lost 13 kilos. I am going through bandsters hell because I can eat anything I want at the moment... not good. I have been going for long walks to make up for it. I'm so glad I did this and I know things will be better when I go for another fill in Jan. Welcome and enjoy.
  7. You look fantastic... great bod! :whoo: I think it's great that people are able to use this tool with exercise to get their bodies back to firm. I am 52 yo so it's going to be harder for me to have that kind of body again. I'm working on it though.

Addiction Transfer - It might be real!

Of course it was never bad sex when I was involved !! :cheated: Picking up strangers on a regular basis I consider bad sex, especially in my early 30s. Gave that up and turned to gambling, so from one to another. My fear of being slim is that I can turn to that type of behaviour again. I am mature enough now not to get caught up in it again, at least not to the same degree but the fear is still there. PS: I have never been married and am currently single.

    Countdown to Onederland!

Hope you get there soon Tracy. I'm scared I may have put mine back on since I am still eating too much ... can't wait for more restriction. I am going for a walk now so hopefully that will keep it off (it's 9.45am here).

Addiction Transfer - It might be real!

I have been hiding behind my weight and other OCDs since I was a child and have kept transfering from one to another so that now at 52, I feel I too have wasted much of my life. I can see my destructive behaviour as I have worked on it for the last 20+ years but seeing it and changing it are 2 very different things. I have had many good things in my life over the years but always came back to this place to feel safe but it wasn't safe, it was the place where I was destroying myself with food, sex, gambling (even exercise or any other interest I happened to take up went into OCD mode). I have matured now and am trying not to go with my impulses but it is still hard sometimes. On a positive note, I have lost 29 lbs and look forward to getting the rest of my weight off... so I will continue to exercise and get back into my life with gusto... 52 going on 35! :whoo::whoo:
  11. Apple juice works a treat for me... has worked every time. Haven't had to throw anything up since being banded.
  12. First of all congratulations Cynthia on your weight loss... great achievement! :clap2: I know exactly how you feel about snacking... once you start the habit, it's hard to stop. Even though I'm back on track, I still had more to eat than I should have yesterday but hoping to curb that today. I guess we need to go back to basics to help kick start it again. I'm finding it harder because I'm off work and not keeping myself busy enough as I needed the break to rest up. Good luck with it and keep us posted on how you're going.

    Driving home after surgery

The hospital may not let you drive yourself. I've always been told that if I am being put under that I need to have someone pick me up. If you check with the hospital, you'll find they won't release you... at least that's how it is in Australia.
  15. Get a slight unfill, losing weight is not worth getting sick over. As you know when you are slightly unfilled, if you follow the rules you should be able to lose weight and still enjoy your food. I am not very restricted at the moment but am working hard on keeping the weight I have lost off until my next fill so I know it's not easy. I came into this with the attitude that I would do it slowly while still enjoying a normal lifestyle... so far so good.

    Countdown to Onederland!

Thanks Tracy... now to keep it off !

    Did you notice

I did Wendy and it is definitely a great change. Congrats on the forward thinking. :clap2: :clap2:

    Yuck I did it!!

Apple juice did wonders for me each time I got stuck in the last couple of days. The type of food I was eating and not chewing enough was a disaster so I got stuck at least 3 times in those few days. Hard not to when there are heaps of people around you talking and asking questions etc.

    Countdown to Onederland!

Well I did it, I've hit onederland... 199.7 !! :whoo::whoo: Now to keep it down there during the rest of the holidays.

    Nymphs..How did you do today?

Thanks Longhorn. I hadn't weighed myself since the 21st so I may have lost some in that time and maybe put on some, either way, I am down and that's all I need to know! :whoo:

    Nymphs..How did you do today?

Well I just came back from my walk and decided to take the bull by the horns and weigh myself... well, I nearly fell off the scales, I actually was down 1 lb... thought I was going to be at least 3-4 lbs up. :whoo::whoo: I guess walking for the last 3 days did help after all. And I'm now 199.7 lbs... in onederland !! :whoo::whoo:
  22. Good one Bandpal... very creative! :clap2: :clap2:

    Nymphs..How did you do today?

Hey Cindy thanks for your concern. It's okay really, I was just letting Foofy know that she was not the only one who fell off the waggon. Piggy No 2 (term of endearement). I don't like what I did but I know I will be fine again. I will do another walk today which will help. I guess my biggest fear is how much damage I might have done, ie, to the band or my weight. Today is definitely another day and I will be right back on track.
  24. I was banded on 1 November and have lost 28 lbs... most of it prior to my first fill. I haven't lost any lately but hoping that will change during the next couple of weeks.

    Exercise

I have been walking mostly (not every day) but did have a couple of nights of dancing which was great... always lose weight after a night out dancing. I also love aqua aerobics so will start up again in the new year. Anything to help shift the weight.
