Sades replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm staying on plan today because I hit onederland again (3 times now) and don't plan to go back to the 200s. -
Well this is the 3rd time I've posted that I've hit onederland ... 199.3 this morning. The plan is to post when I've hit the 180s next... no more going back to 200.

Congratulations labec and kylie, glad to hear that you are out and doing well.

I think we are a bit hard on ourselves at times. I know it took me at least 6 months to lose the same weight a couple of years ago, so really this is fantastic weight loss in a short time. I know I could have lost more but geez looking good anyway. I have noticed that I do have some restriction but I don't chew slowly and can down pretty much anything so whatever restriction there is doesn't really stop much. I'm feeling good because all that exercise is really helping my state of mind.
-
Fantastic Jill, can't wait for that day. I'm a smidgen under 5'2" so not far off you. This is great talking to people who are at a similar stage to me. I think I might go shopping for pants this weekend to see what size I can get into. I won't buy any just yet though.
-
Nah Shortgal, not that much... my niece is 7 inches taller than me and when we were a similar weight, we weren't very different dress size. Anyway, I can't argue with the stats. Hey don't let things get you down... so easy to do. You've done so well so far and I know once you get that next fill things will start moving. Think about how lucky we are that we discovered lapband surgery and that we could afford to do it. I know there are many people out there who will always be overweight because they weren't as lucky. I'm looking forward to saying I wear a normal size 16 which isn't going to be too far off and think about when you can tell people you are a size 14. Keep the motivational thoughts in your head and spit out the negative ones.

I'm doing really well since that episode... fingers crossed !! I have lost 30 lbs but have been working on the same 2-3 lbs for the last 6 weeks or so. I've had 3 fills so up to 6.5cc in a 10cc band. I have another fill next Wed so hopefully that will make me tight enough so I can't eat as much as I can now. Most of it has been willpower with a little restriction. I want it to be mostly restriction with a little willpower. How are you going with yours?

Hey Dawn... my daily intake isn't always the best which is why my weight has stalled for so long. I'm usually pretty good through the day, cereal for breakfast, skim latte, cruskits with either tuna or baked beans for lunch with an apple. For dinner I've been having salad with feta cheese for the last few days. I still snack too much at night... jelly & custard, fruit, mini yoghurt stick (low fat). I walk every day with the exception of a few and I'm doing aqua aerobics once a week. I'm hoping another month of this should have me down 10 lbs... only time will tell. :biggrin2: You sound like you're doing the right thing with your intake and exercise. It's definitely a journey.
-
You're a crazy woman !! :cursing: Yes that 6 inches would make a big difference... that would make you look about 10 lbs lighter than me. Anyway, just thought I'd mention that I am back at 199 this morning (Aussie morning) and I'm so excited. Another 1 lb and I'm back where I was about a week ago. From there it is downhill all the way !!
-
Yay Longhorn... great feeling for sure. That's 90.6 kilos... I've seen that at least twice in the last couple of weeks.
-
Band sisters, I like that ! :biggrin2: I'm losing again at the moment... haven't weighed myself for a couple of days so could be back at onederland myself... was at 200 two days ago. The plan is to keep going not keep working on the same 2 lbs.
-
I agree, sounds like a scam to me and don't get me started on dr's receptionists. I'm not talking about my lapband dr but just in general. I know they are over worked but if you take on a job like that you have to have a compassionate nature but not the case 80% of the time. You need to complain to the dr about her attitude because they don't always know.
-
You must be relieved. Good luck with the surgery.
-
I'm so happy that you're there Longhorn. You started off slowly but look at you now... onederland !! It must be a great feeling to know that the band is finally working.. I've had glimpses of it. Looks like you'll have no problem meeting the Spring challenge.
-
Shortgal, it must be very frustrating but be happy that you haven't gained anything. Longhorn, I'm glad to hear you're going so well. My next fill should get me to 7cc so I hope the extra .5cc does it for me.
-
1st fill today...how long before should I abstain from eating?
Sades replied to MamaJava's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can eat anything prior to a fill and am told to eat soft foods for the next 24 hours. -
I'm in large 16 pants as well and I'm 5' 2" tall... we are really so similar. My restriction is semi there Shortgal but you're right if it weren't for willpower and exercising pretty much every day, I would have put most of my weight back on. I'm hoping my fill next week will get me to the point I want.
-
Go on Linda, shock us! :biggrin2:
-
Janie, how long have you had the infection and how bad does it look. Mine was red and warm to touch but I caught it straight away. I got it after my first fill but I've had 2 since without a problem. What does your doctor say?
-
Thanks for asking Janie... did you get my desperate cry for help?? The infection cleared up with antibiotics but then I had a major allergy attack from the antibiotics... swollen face, eyes, mouth etc, hives all over my body... this lasted 8-10 days over xmas & the NY. I'm glad to report that all is well now and I never want to go through that again.
-
Lucky you Jill ... I want that kind of restriction, even for a month or so. I know I sometimes go beyond what my body is telling me but even so I should have enough restriction to help stop that. I'm hoping one more fill should do the trick. You're right Shortgal, we are all different... I'm just amazed at how different. Looking at our weight to lose, the 3 of us are similar which makes it even more unusual. Enjoy your weekend break.
-
Welcome Keri, I'm from Sydney and was banded on 1 Nov. Not unusual to feel blue in the 1st week or so. Hang in there, it gets better. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for this Cindy, I have copied it onto my computer as a reminder.
