I don't often get stuck but when I do I drink apple juice and it helps it go down. Sometimes it hurts but once it goes through I feel fine. I must say I've never spoken to my dr about this... I got the hint from reading posts on LBT. I will mention this when I go for my next fill. I have also put my fingers down my throat a couple of times when I have been full of gas and felt really uncomfortable. I don't throw up, it just allows me to burp it out. Who knows if we're doing any damage but I'd rather do that than sit with it for hours on end.

Try drinking apple juice, it always helps me get unstuck. I usually wait but when I know waiting isn't going to help then I take a few sips. Works like a charm.

I haven't bought anything new yet but I want to wait until a couple of weeks beforehand, that way I will have most of the weight off. Okay, let's touch base again a week from today. Good luck to the 3 of us looking fantastic for June !!:thumbup:

Happy birthday to you happy birthday dear Jill happy birthday to you!!:musical_note::smile::smile2: :w00t:

I have my niece's 21st at the end of June and I want to lose 10kgs before then. Don't know if I can do it but I'm going to try so let's keep each other company on this one.

I am surprised they offered 1cc. The last time I went for a fill I asked for 1cc and they said no. Lucky you didn't take them up on it. It is so easy to eat things that go down easily so it's good that you're back on track. I'm feeling a lot more positive that I'm ready to get more weight off, I may have already (haven't weighed myself for a few days). I'll keep you posted on the next fill.

Good advice Sades. Does that make us the "Happy Laggers" instead of the "Thundering Tortoises"? I, too, am pretty happy with my loss, even though it is slower than most. I have NEVER lost this MUCH weight THIS fast. 70 pounds in a year would make me goofy with joy! Foofy Sorry I missed your post "Goofy" Foofy... "Happy Laggers", has a nice ring to it. Of course when I get my next 20lbs off I might have to eject myself from that club.

Brandy, by band failure I assume you mean slow losers? I have slowed right down with my weight loss but I don't consider myself a failure. While we don't have the correct restriction we will always find it hard to stick with the rules of eating 1 cup of food per meal. I'm okay 80% of the time, it's the 20% that has stopped losing more. I will continue going for fills until I get there. No definitely not a band failure, just a work in progress.
-
So are we placing bets on who gets there first? TX or Cindy... come one, come all, place your bets down... who will be the first to hit 100lbs lost?? Both great achievers, congratulations.:thumbup:

Hi Shortgal, sounds like you had a good time on your holiday and good to hear you got the weight off again. I'm at 8cc and going for another fill next week. The nurse at my dr's surgery said at this stage they don't put in more than .5cc at a time to avoid people getting too tight. I know it's strange how you could be eating anything you want and then suddenly nothing... sounds like another .5cc will do the trick for me then. I will keep you posted on how I go. I hope things ease up for you and that your sweet spot ends up being sweet. Let me know how you go once it calms down.
-
Thanks Slimmy, it's good to hear that. 34kgs, wow that's a great achievement, especially in such a short time. The reason I set my goal for 65kgs is because at my age I don't want to go down too low because I will age too much. My dr's goal for me is 70kgs so would be happy to reach that goal and see how I go. Good luck with the rest of your loss.

Hunger isn't always the reason we eat. I know I can go 4 hours without eating and not be hungry, I just don't let myself because I think I should be hungry so I eat. That's probably why I'm one of the biggest laggers on here. I know I'm not at my sweet spot because if I was then I wouldn't be able to eat what I do. Don't be hard on yourselves, this is new to all of us and we are doing it the best we can. I know I need to follow the rules a bit better but I've said all along I don't want to stop living either. If I take another 6-12 months to get my weight off then so be it... I've certainly been overweight a lot longer than that. Good luck to you all.

Congratulations Mandy, how exciting. I cant wait to get anywhere near goal! :cursing:

November Nymphs Summer Kick-Off Weight Loss Challenge
Sades replied to cindyg1212's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was with my sister last night and we were talking to someone who's BIL was banded a couple of months before me. He has lost 92 lbs. When I told her I had lost 31 lbs my sister piped up with "but you've been at that weight too long". Well no more excuses, this is it, I'm ready to meet this challenge! November Nymphs Cinco de Mayo Weight Loss Challenge
Sades replied to ~Trixie~'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations to all the people who met the challenge or close to it. Well this challenge wasn't kind to me so I'm going for the next one and I know I will have results for that one since I have been doing better with the food intake. I go for another fill next week and I'm hoping that will help as well. -
Summer/Independence Day Weightloss Challenge

This is a great idea Kendra. I'm glad to hear that things are heading in the right direction... keep kicking George's butt... should be in China by now !! :frown:
-
Hey thanks for your lovely words Cindy. It's not always easy but we do have to stay as positive as we can about this process because we have been given something which 10 years ago we could never have imagined. I for one am glad to have lost what I have because I know I won't ever put it back on. Just can't wait to get the next lot off.
-
Well if you count how often I have lost the same 1-2 lbs, then I should be down another 10-20 lbs which means I am ahead of Cindy and Linda already!!  Oh well, now to really get that weight off and then I'll be a happy vegemite.
-
Molly it sounds like you're going through a really bad time. It could be worse, you could be down by only 31 lbs and I was banded a week before you. If you base your loss at 1-2 lbs a week then you are doing fine. Deal with the emotional issues and keep seeing your dr for the right restriction and you'll get there.

November Nymphs Cinco de Mayo Weight Loss Challenge
Sades replied to ~Trixie~'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Molly, I know I don't have the restriction I should (another fill coming up next week) but I could have been a lot stricter with myself in the last few months. Obviously the more you have to lose the faster you will lose it. Eg, Cindy had 189 lbs to lose whereas I had 86 lbs to lose and it is taking me longer to lose it. So hang in there, we'll all get there eventually. BTW Cindy, you have done fantastically well and I applaud you. -
Take it as you will but we're a comin' for ya Linda !! :smilielol5::huh2:
-
Hey Foofy, you're still ahead of me. I walk about 50-55 mins every day so for me there's too much food intake. Okay the challenge is on... I will up my exercise and say no to food and let's see if we can't get this thing moving again.
-
Congratulations Steph, that's a great achievement! :smile2: You must be so excited.
