    Nymph's July Exercise Challenge

Aqua aerobics should work for you Cindy because there's not as much stress on the body but you definitely see the effects of it. Great for toning the stomach etc. I wish I could do it more often but as mentioned above not feasible. Give it a try, you might get addicted like Cindy (the other one).)

Whew, glad that got cleared up Chickie ! :crying: Super Nanny, now maybe I could be a little like that ??? I am glad to see you posting again, it's been too long. I think you have a lot to offer and I wouldn't let some of those people who attacked you previously put you off coming back and sharing some of your experiences. I for one do appreciate reading successful posts.

    Which type are you?

On your first point Chickie, I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about a number of posts which came after mine that started to get a bit aggressive. On your second point, I'm not the hands on hips, pointing finger type ! I know I'm 53 yo but I'm a pretty cool one, just ask my nephews and nieces when I'm moving to the groove !! And please please do not take it that I was having a go at you for going public. I did that with something else in my life and copped some flack for it as well. I think what you did is fantastic. We have a woman in my support group who did that last month in a monthly magazine (can't remember which) and I think it was the best thing she ever did. I haven't heard if she's had anything said to her because I haven't seen her since then. We definitely need positive stories out there about the band and I commend you for doing that. Once again congratulations to you and anyone else who have been successful with the band  and good luck to those still trying (me included) Cheers
  4. Marie I feel the same way. I'm having a barium meal on Thursday to check my band. I have 9cc in a 10cc band but still able to eat a fair amount of food. I don't have any other symptoms so I'm hoping that I'm a late bloomer and my day will come.

    Nymph's July Exercise Challenge

Well you're well on the way there Cindy. We'll expect a photo soon. I know what you mean about being hyped up after a class. By the time I'm finished (shower & all) it's about 8.30pm, then dinner and winding down and before I know it it's after 10pm. That's why I only do it once a week. Walking is different because I generally do that before work or at lunch time, much easier to handle.

That's great to know Cindy. I'm amazed at how addicted I get to walking. Aqua is great as well. I feel invigorated after each session. I think it's harder for me to keep it up because my classes are in the evening after work and I can't always get there.

    Nymphs Weight Loss To Date

And I just sit here crying in my bowl of soup :tt2: Okay, so I'm not eating and I'm not crying but I should be... no more weight loss yet. It's coming though. I've walked 4 times this week. Couldn't walk for more than a week because of a flare up of a bone problem I have. It's fine now so back to my regular walks. Congratulations on the good work everyone!
  9. I keep asking myself the same question Cindy. I know the answer to life is 42... does that help?? :tt2:)

    Which type are you?

Wow what a mess this has ended up being. It was never my intention for everyone to get so upset but I just felt that some things being said on here were very harsh and I made my point as to why. I certainly do not condone people attacking the OP and her defenders. Also, I have not and never will have a problem with anyone who has been successful with their weight loss. Jacqui you and Chickie as well as others have done a fantastic job with the band and I wish to be one of you in the future. A friend of ours was banded a couple of years before me and she has lost 40+ kgs and is now a size 8. She looks fantastic and she said that she never planned to get to a size 8 but she just never stopped losing. She doesn't have much in her band now but is maintaining really well. I can't imagine people being so nasty about your weight loss. Human nature is a funny thing, remember the tall poppy syndrome, sounds like it is running rampant here. Chickie unfortunately when you put yourself out in the public eye, you will always have the weirdos come out of the woodwork. I have experienced that in another situation I was in. I thought Nanook was someone new but now I realise it is Brandy. Brandy, I don't understand why you needed to do that. Unfortunately it doesn't help your situation because it makes you look dishonest to some people. I am happy to support you if and when I can, so please keep it real. Take care everyone and remember the written word is always different to a F2F interaction and sometimes it's easy to post things we wouldn't say to someone if they were right in front of us.
  11. Thanks Nancy. I have always been one to stand up for the down trodden, even as far back as primary school. Take care and good luck on your journey.

Actually I lied I am a nice person but have bad moments like a lot of people. Don't want to be tainted as the not nice person !! :blushing:) Off to work now, so have a good day (or night) everyone. Cheers.

    Which type are you?

It was what came after your first post. Yes Brandy carried on as well but it left a yukkie taste in my mouth. I'm not an overly nice person, I have my ups and downs but I try hard to let people be. I guess I'm someone who thinks they have to make an injustice right which is why I finally responded.

    Which type are you?

Jacqui, I know this is an R&R thread and that is why I didn't post on it from the beginning. Of course I couldn't help reading it though but the more I saw, the more it disturbed me. I don't think you understand that people don't have to be clinically depressed to have emotional issues. As Brandy said, it's more likely self esteem which stops people moving forward and different times throughout this journey... and it is a journey. Many people think your achievements are great, as I do but my point is that it's the harsh things you have said about people on here and people you know in the outside world. I am a survivor and I get up every day and live my life the best I can. Most days I'm fine, happy, etc but when those other days come by, it is a struggle, just as losing weight is. I'm happy with what I've lost so far but I know I could be doing better. I'm not going to slap myself around because of it though so naturally I wouldn't want someone on here to do it for me. I have read posts on this forum which have made me want to scream as well but I refuse to put people down for it. I also understand that it's frustrating to see that people don't do the work and blame the band but again that's where they're at. There are 100s who don't agree and have proven this on here. I wish now I hadn't gotten involved in this thread and apologise one more time for hijacking it. Cheers.

    Which type are you?

Hijacked this thread, yes maybe I did but what about the people who hijacked the "Self Esteem" thread. All I am saying is people need to be less judgemental and more compassionate whatever their beliefs are. I haven't agreed on 100% of Brandy's thoughts etc but I'm not going to start a thread that totally bashes her. Get real, this is child's play not something mature people do. All I asked is take a step back and see that how you respond to life situations is your way and that you can't ram it down someone's throat who isn't ready to live their life as you have chosen. When I get to goal weight (which I will), I won't be able to say that I did it without falling by the wayside at times. Maybe Brandy will get there eventually and will look back at this and say, geez maybe they were right but not right now, so leave the woman alone. Sorry but I've continued to hijack the thread. Exit right stage.

How many pokes with a fill?

I've had about 8 fills and my doc got it in one shot every time. No pain, no fuss. Good luck.

    Which type are you?

Yes BJ, that is my point exactly, you can be frustrated with someone because of their victim mentality but I wouldn't try to humiliate them in front of all and sundry.

    Which type are you?

Jasmine, many of us are struggling to get this thing right and coming to this board is what helps keep us motivated. I love reading how successful people have been but some of this carry on is totally unnecessary. That's what made me put my 2 bob's worth in. Sorry Jacqui but you can have your thread back.
  22. Sades

    Which type are you?

PS, I don't disagree that Jacqui has done well for herself and that she looks great. I just think that her success does not mean that everyone needs to see her as their hero. I said it before, everyone travels their own path to achieve success and some will fall on the way. Either they will pick themselves up and move on or they will decide it is too hard... we are not here to judge either person.
  23. Sades

    Which type are you?

I don't like victims either but I do have compassion which is what has been lacking here from most people. Whatever has gone on in your life there is no need to put people down just because they don't fit the mould of how you think people should live their lives. Go back and read some of the things that have been said, read them from the other person's point of view and then say they are not harsh and mean. For many people it is a struggle just to pick themselves up and do normal everyday things so give them a break. Yes Brandy put herself out there and I truly believe she needs help but this not helpful, this is downright nasty. You guys remind me of the work tearoom situation where there's a queen bee who bitches about some poor soul and the other bees gather around to add to the sting. We are adults, so please try to act with some decorum.
