I'm sorry to say this but puking is only going to lead you to possibly losing the band. I understand how hard it is to stop eating, I too am an emotional eater but I think eating to the point of throwing up is a serious problem which you need to discuss with your dr quicksmart. Go for a walk instead of eating, eat low fat snacks if you're going to snack. It sounds to me that you need to up your therapy until you get on top of this. Good luck.

Mine is at the incision. It sounds to me like normal port pain since you are newly banded. Just keep an eye on it and call your dr is it gets worse.
-
You did it! Looks good.

Hi Sola nice to see you back here. You were banded the same day as me and I have lost 35 lbs. I definitely could have lost heaps more by now but I have been struggling with it. I think my band has slipped as well, will find out on Monday. I have very little restriction and have been exercising throughout this time and that has helped me keep from putting any weight back on. It's definitely not always easy and you do have to work with the band. I'm hoping once I sort my problem out then I should start losing again. Don't stay away so long next time, this is a great place to come to stay motivated.

Copy the bbcode from the Ticker Factory website. It should look something like this... [/url] Then go to User CP then go to Edit Signature and paste it in there. Click on Save Signature. Hope it works for you.

The last lot of books I read were the Chronicles of Narnia. Never read them as a kid and thought they were great. I haven't read anything in the last 3 years. My sister read a Child Called It by Dave Pelzer about an abused child. She said it was excellent reading so I'm planning to read it as well.

November Nymphs Summer Meltdown Challenge
Sades replied to cindyg1212's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It sounds awful Linda, what we put ourselves through. I was studying when I was in my 30s and working full time. It is not easy and I was so stressed that my dr tried to convince me to give it up. I was going through some personal stuff at the time as well which didn't help. Good luck. I haven't weighed myself since this challenge started. I'm a little scared of what the scales will say. I will get weighed on Monday when I see the dr so will update after that. I haven't been too bad and am exercising so I don't think I'll fall over in shock.) -
Hey Kendra, great to see you posting again. I think about you all the time but don't want to bombard you with notes because I know you're busy with getting better. Sorry about your hair but as Linda says, get sassy with some wigs. Now what colour do I want to be today? :frown:) Your trip sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun and I bet you're looking forward to catching up with your daughter. Enjoy! Don't worry about the weight gain, you'll get it off before you know it. I was taking steroids over xmas because of my allergy attack and I was bloated and hungry all the time... horrible! Take care of yourself and keep us posted on the next stage. Have a great time on your break!!

If it is warm when you touch it and red it is likely to be an infection. The port incision is the one which takes the longest to heal. If you're only 5 days out, I would give it a few more days. Talk to your dr if it does not improve.

Prayers needed for a fellow bandster
Sades replied to hootiebelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My thoughts and prayers are with Joan and her family at this horrible time. I hope for a speedy recovery. -
Thanks Cindy, that's so sweet! I only have the news from the xray dr so he might not have it right. I'll wait to hear what my dr has to say on Monday. I'm not holding my breath though. I guess if they have to adjust it, then I will just go with it. I would rather not go under again but I won't have much choice. As the nurse said, at least you can really start losing weight after that. And it's true, I've been working so hard just to maintain what I have lost and I always knew that I was doing it the hard way. I will definitely keep everyone posted and thanks again for your kind thoughts.

Now that you mention it, I think that's how it works.
-
I didn't get to see my dr today but have an appointment on Monday. The receptionist asked if I was in pain or throwing up but I'm not. He gave me the impression that the dr isn't seeing it as a slip because he asked who told me it was a slip. I said the xray dr. I asked him if my dr had said anything and he said no but I got the impression they had talked but of course he couldn't tell me anything. I won't know the full extent of it until I see my dr, so I'm just going to hang in there in the meantime. Yes Foofy, now that you mention it, I'll be hot on your tail !! Ready, steady, go...

I think the quote got to Australia before him. Who's Stewart Smalley? Now I definitely deserve to be ignored!! Actually I googled the name, I've hardly ever seen Saturday Night Live so I hope I can be forgiven for not knowing of him.
-
Who said that?
-
That's true, there are those people but if I press ignore I might miss something! Not a power issue, yes you could be right. Move along everyone, no power issue to be seen here.
-
Obviously I haven't offended anyone enough to be on their ignore list. Oh well, I thought I had more power than that !! LOL
-
Good one Jaime. I'm only a shortie and still have a bit of weight to go before I can do that easily. I look forward to the day!
-
:wub: You have to laugh about it don't you.
-
Well what have you read recently? It might inspire me to start reading again.
-
True but if I get quoted, they'll see it then. Someone pleeeeese quote me!! )
-
If I'm on someone's ignore list for whatever reason then I say it is their loss because I have lots of experience with life, good and bad and I can support and motivate, whatever is required at the time. Putting someone on your ignore list seems a little extreme to me unless they are stalkers or of some type of threat to your safety.

Good luck with your first fill. Let us know how you go.
-
I will Wendy, I will know more tomorrow when my dr gets the xrays. Of course I will keep you in my prayers. Your fill should be a breeze, I've never had any problems with mine. Good luck. I think the reason they weren't too worried is because they have a few people who had to go to 9cc and 10cc before they found restriction. I will be talking to my dr some time tomorrow hopefully. I might do that anyway because I don't want to risk it getting worse. I had a feeling as well but not a slip. I thought the pouch might be stretched. Apparently with a slip it can go either way, either slip up or slip down. When it slips up, people tend to throw up and get reflux but in my case I didn't have any of those signs. Mine has slipped down. I will keep you guys posted and thanks for your concern. I'm trying to stay positive.
