I haven't but it sounds like you definitely did enough damage (swelling wise) to make you suffer for a few days. I would continue to take it easy and stay on liquids until you are sure that you are okay. I assume you will go back to your dr for another fill once you are feeling better. Maybe she can do one under fluruo so you know if there's a problem. It doesn't sound like it to me but more the swelling from throwing up. Good luck.

Do whatever makes you feel good. If you want to get out with friends in a bathing suit and you know it will be a positive experience then I say go for it... 60 lbs is no small feat! I'm one who finds any excuse to party or have a gathering of friends. Everyone above have given you some good advice. Spend the day pampering yourself, buy a new outfit and then meet up with your friends, either that night or the next day. Are you friends supportive? If so, go for it!

This is it... LapBand food Stages Lists Suggestions
-
Make sure you are stocked up with liquids that you will drink in the first 2 weeks (I assume that's what your dr says). Did your dr give you a list of what you can drink in those weeks? Eg, broth, protein drinks, juices. If you look up post op diets on this forum under food & nutrition, there will be a list of things you require. I believe it is in a sticky thread.

Yes the antbiotics did get rid of it. I didn't have to have anything removed. Mine happened after my first fill but I don't know why. I guess it could have something to do with the cut being exposed to something. That's a question for your dr's office. Most people on here have had the infection straight after surgery. Again not sure why.
-
Thanks Jill. Mine's the same, my port hurts when I get in and out of bed. I haven't been sleeping too well though. I need to try and get 7-8 hours in a row. I'm looking forward to the extra weightloss. I should have been down another 20 lbs by now. Hopefully it will melt off on the liquid & mushie phase.

It's easier said than done but try not to over stress. If you are already on antibiotics then I'm sure you'll be fine. How long has it been red? I don't know much about erosion but I can't imagine it happening only 4 weeks after being banded. Have a look at an earlier post on page 4 of this thread with a picture of my infection. Antibiotics helped get rid of that. Good luck and keep us posted.

Wow he's done so well. Good on him! Glad to hear he's doing better now. It's great to have the band but you don't want it making you sick. There's got to be a happy medium.

70 lbs, easy !! I was starting to worry last night because the port area was looking red again but I've kept an eye on it and so far so good. I really don't need any added complications! I guess as long as all goes well, I should be up and about in the next few days. I spent all day resting but unfortunately didn't get enough sleep. I'm hoping that I will do a bit more of that tomorrow. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery Judy and I know what you mean about the weight loss, making up for so much wasted time. Glad you enjoyed your break. I need a good holiday but that's another thing I will have to put off now. I was thinking of going away somewhere at the end of this month. I will wait until I'm fully healed before I think about that. I know what you mean about being brown, I get so brown just from walking as well. I guess 1 hour a day is long enough to tan. Keep us posted on your next stage of this disaster. Thanks Marie. As mentioned above, I'm feeling okay and am looking forward to being up and about.

Doing my trick eh Cindy? I was trying to nap this afternoon but only got 1 hour in. Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight. I'm trying not to dwell on the weight loss but I feel a little short changed since I already did my time and now have to do it again. I think once I am off the liquid stage I'll feel more normal again. I have no gas pain, didn't the last time either. Guess I should be thankful for that. I've had diarrhea all day, not very pleasant! It's eased up a little now. Love Cindy's cheerleader avatar as well. Waiting for the real photo Cindy !!

I would call and let them know you are desperate for a fill. Put yourself down for cancellation slot. I know it's hard because it's a new dr but they should understand your position. Good luck.

Good on you Wendy. It's exciting when that happens. My excitement was more when I hit under 90 kgs to be back in the 80s. You've had a fantastic loss. I can't wait to get there!
-
Thanks Wendy. Sorry to hear about your son. How is he doing now? How old is he and how much has he lost? I was watching an old Oprah show on kids and their lapbands today. Interesting... I hadn't seen it before.

I would change your appointment until after the cruise. I'd hate to be out in the middle of the ocean with problems. You never you know you might lose weight with all the activities they have on there. I went on a cruise about 15 years ago and had a ball. Enjoy!

I know what you mean Wasa, LBT is one of the most user friendly boards I've been on. I belong to another one which is similar... not for weight loss though. I will do what you said and try and find them. Thanks.

I found out this week that my band was not placed correctly when I had it put in last November. I have had very little restriction during that time and even though I was filled to 9cc in a 10cc band, I couldn't understand why I was still able to eat fairly big amounts of food. In the end the dr decided to send me for a barium meal only to discover that the band is wrapped around the fat tissue on the outside of the stomach rather than around the stomach. The dr can't explain how it happened and said he's never seen or heard of it before. Anyone here had this problem? Of course he has offered to go back in with a new band and correct the situation. Of course now I'm stressing about having to go through this all again. I am booked to go in this Thursday but getting mixed advice about whether I'm doing the right thing. I know a number of people who have been to this dr without any problems, so I'm sure I should be okay but I'm still worried I might be making a mistake. Any thoughts?
-
Thanks Cindy, I hope so. I know I lost some weight already but I feel I wasted 5-6 months struggling to lose more. I will probably go back to work on Monday but will work from home a couple of days. We can work virtually so working from home it won't be too hard.
-
Thanks Nanook, at least now I know all my whinging about no restriction was perfectly legit !! I was rebanded yesterday and feeling okay considering. I just want those 4-6 weeks to flash by. Thanks very much Heartfelt. I appreciate all the kind thoughts from everyone.

LOL, thanks Foofy. I fell asleep quite early last night so have been waking on and off through the night. It's now 8am Saturday. I will probably dose on and off during the day since I'm not going anywhere. It's hard turning over in bed so that hasn't helped the sleep situation. I remember this all too well from last time so I pretty peeved that I have to go through this again. Once again thanks for everyone's knd thoughts.. yay nov nymphs!:Banane35::redface::Banane33:

Also can you please show me where the posts are on OH. I tried finding them but couldn't. Thanks.

Thanks for your concern Wasa. I was very worried about it being done again by him but as most people said he is going to be doubly careful to fix his mistake. I probably should have held off and thought it through more but in the end I was getting more confused and anxious by the minute, It's been done now and he did an endoscopy while he was in there to make sure. I've had another barium swallow and it all looked fine. I guess only time will tell now. I meet with a support group who have been banded by him and they all seem fine. Let's hope mine was just an error in judgement on his part and not normal practice.

Thanks Cindy. Sorry I didn't let you know I was staying overnight. In fact I was meant to stay 2 nights but asked if I could go home sooner. Can't sleep in hospitals. So far so good painwise and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Prayers needed for a fellow bandster

Good to hear that she is out of ICU. My thoughts and prayers are still with her for a speedy recovery. -
What level are all the Nov 07 bandsters at?
Sades replied to AndreaL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What an amazing achievement Cindy. You drfinitely are an inspiration to us all. I agree that the extra exercise is what is helping. I know when I was going to aqua 2-3 times a week it made a big difference to my body. Of course you have to keep it up which I didn't.
