Good to hear you are well Kendra, sorry about the weight gain but you have been through an ordeal and getting your health back on track is more important than a few lbs. Judy, I'm glad you feel a bit better about all this. Did he say how it is being paid for? It sounds like he's blaming the band company but maybe he had to do something in surgery to make sure that it didn't come apart. 5 August will be here before you know it. I know exactly how you feel. I had mine redone last week because it was placed around the fat tissue rather than the stomach. Even though this time around it's been done correctly I'm no longer confident that there won't be other complications. I think if anything else goes wrong, then I would get it out and not bother... always feel way too anxious leading up to surgery.

Nah Linda, I'm a Nov Nymph through and through! Besides I feel like it wasn't that long ago that I had it done before so I haven't forgotten too much. Just comparing notes sometimes to how I was feeling then to how I'm feeling now.

My sister is a couple of sizes smaller than me and she has always been a big shopper so she's already saying that I can have her hand me downs when I lose 2 more sizes. In the meantime, I am wearing some things I already had in my cupboard that I can fit into again. I've bought a couple of new things but not overdoing it until I lose another dress size. Even then, I'm going to make do with the bigger things that still look alright on. Too expensive to buy and throw away after a couple of months.

Try calling them, emails can get lost or ignored. Tomorrow will be here before you know it. Hopefully you will get your questions answered and then move forward to a positive outcome. I'm 1 week out and I'm glad it's over. Fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong of course! I've got 2 pairs of walking shoes, 1 at home and 1 at work and both are great to walk in, never had problems even when they were new. Hope you find some relief soon. I hate trying on underwear, good luck with that!

Well it must have been a shock waking up to it for sure. Sorry about your dilemma. Hopefully after you've lost 100 lbs it will be just a distant memory!

I can understand that. I had mine replaced last week and I had visions of waking up with all sorts of problems. Sorry you had to go through that. No chance of a new band further down the track?

I haven't had that happen but I was warned prior to my surgery that if they needed to that they would do that. Were you not made aware of this prior?

Congratulations what a success!! Looking at her stats it shows that this is pre op and post op weight loss, voila.. 13 months!

I think you need to say that to him about it being rare and yet he's had 2 patients. He needs to know that you are an aware person and he can't fob you off. Have you thought about calling the manufacturer and asking them about it. They would have to know how this kind of error occurs and whether it could be a dr's error. I also think he needs to agree to looking after you at no cost to you for another 12 months. I know I wasted at least 6-7 months going back and forth for fills etc. Glad to hear you've lost more weight. You certainly don't want to be going backwards with your weight which would just add to your stress. I'm obviously losing again, finally which is a bonus. Of course I would have lost more than that by now if I'd had restriction. Better stop sounding bitter!

Thanks Barb. It ended up being a misplaced band rather than a slip and I was rebanded on 10 July. Doing well so far.

I'm feeling pretty good, the pain is going bit by bit. I can move around again. Still sore around the middle but hopefully another fews days should help that. I'm wanting food more than I did last time at this stage. Of course I'm sticking with the plan but it's funny noticing the difference. I hope your dr answers your questions to your satisfaction.

Hey man, who said that... :frown: :eek: 40 is not old, remember 50 is the new 40, so you're still a chickadee!! The young ones are so funny... whenever there's a remix of an old song and we're singing with the song, they look at us like "huh, how do you know that". I've still got it... but not everyone wants it any more!! I spoke to my GP today and she had a look at the "moving lump" and she said it feels like it's the tubing. I thought the port is where the biggest cut is. This is under the small cut under the left breast. I don't need any more complications. I called and made an appointment with my surgeon on 6 August but have asked the receptionist to talk to him and call me tomorrow.

Ah the wonderful 80s hey Cindy. I thought my blue streaks were kind of cool as well, shame about that huh! :tongue_smilie: Does your lump move? I'm going to see my GP today so I will get her to check it out.
