Ugh! I cheated on pre op diet

Day 17 now. I didn't cheat at all for 15 days and I only have 4 more days to go before surgery. I was having no problem and then all of a sudden I couldn't stand it. I needed another flavour and the Dijon was Bliss!! I had 8 ritz crackers yesterday with a small slice of cheese with tiny smidge of Dijon mustard on each. Today I had 3 crackers with a bit of mustard. I'm now going to stop! I can't wait to be able to eat again even a little nibble of chicken and veggies. Ugh. I hate that I gave in but just getting right back on the saddle.
  2. Hi Jackie, it's the same for me, no food at all. I've had jello, chicken broth and my shakes. I'm heading into day 6 and I still have 15 more days. I dropped 11 lbs already and I have to do 3 weeks Optifast with no eating. I did find out that my favourite way to drink it is with about 500 ml water, vanilla flavoured shake powder, half a single packet of crystal light (full one is way too sweet), I love the raspberry peach or cherry pomegranate flavours. I shake it up, mix with ice and shake some more. It's soooo good. Tastes almost like a milkshake to me. I have no problem drinking that! All the best to you. You can do it!! Let me know how you're doing :-)

    Anyone booked for 10th June?

I can relate my partner Is a sugar hound and started munching on M&M's the I the day lol. Stick with it!! It's worth it. I'm 2nd day post op. Procedure wasn't bad, it's the gas pain that keeps bothering me. But I just keep walking Thank you! I came home tonight to steak and a hamburger from LoneStar on the counter! Took a whiff and proceeded to make my shake and Jello. :-). I'm sticking with it :-).
  4. Hi all, my name is Shawna. I'm 41, a working mom and wife. I've been a "big girl" most of my life. Had a few good weight loss years but the weight always managed to come back again. I've always been very active but could never keep weight off. After having no kids to having my baby girl, then 2 step kids coming to live with us all in 7 months, anything about myself went out the window. Anyways, I'm in a much better mind frame now, love life but still struggle with the battle of the bulge. My doctor suggested bypass surgery back in 2012 and I finally agreed for her to refer me to the hospital. My first "session" at the weight clinic was in February 2013 which was the info session on your options and you could sign a sheet saying whether or not you wish to have the surgery. I signed "yes" and started the journey of Bypass Surgery. It took a long time to get here now in June 2014 but well worth it. I've had more info sessions, met with a behaviourist, nurse, dietician, the surgeon and finally the anaesthesiologist last week. I've had EKG, cardiograms, blood work, stopped drinking altogether, and given up a lot of "treats" but could not be in a place to have this done. I'm ready for the next stage, BRING IT ON!!!!!!:-)

    Anyone booked for 10th June?

Day 5 of the liquid diet now and the only time I find it tough is when I'm making my daughter her supper. I think I'm lucky as I don't have to cook for the whole family. Hubby works evenings and our 17 year old is always out so I'm not as tempted but I tell ya, I heated up some Zoodles for my daughter and just by habit, I wanted to lick the spoon. I'm sure that wouldn't have done any harm but I'm set in my mind, 100% all the way. Then, of course, hubby comes home and starts eating chips in bed, ahhaha. He is great and supportive because if that did bother me, those chips would have been thrown out the window!! hahah. Anyways, I was down 11.1 pounds this morning, Day 5. Doing good. I even had my husband do my "before" pictures last night. Scary I tell you, from all angles. Can't wait for the "after" and "progress" pictures to come. All the best everyone

    Anyone booked for 10th June?

Hi all, I'm booked for June 27th and could not be more excited. I'm just finishing day 4 of my Optifast and feeling good. I feel so mentally ready that I believe everything will be good. I can't wait to ride the rides at the fair with my daughter!! It was a long process getting here but feel confident that the hospital takes that time to make sure you're ready for it. Yippy yay, 18 more days!!
