I take all of mine in the evening so theres no forgetting or wondering - when - or if.

I have a hiatal hernia and it was not repaired during surgery. I did not take meds prior to surgery - however now I take zantac once daily and drink carafate 4x's daily...... most days it feels like this isn't enough either.

I was weighed prior to sitting down on my bed in the OR - and Yes I do use that weight as my beginning weight.

I am on the 14th too!!! I have a 2 week pre op diet tho - (reduce size of liver..) I am in Ohio - how about you?

DanaThank you so much for your thoughts and guidance! Apologize for not seeing it sooner. I've gotta get the kids to set my notifications up properly!! I was able to stop - it's going on 2 1/2 weeks - still on chantix and will remain until a month after surgery - I am thinking. Have you had your surgery yet? How are you doing?

I'm right with you! I'll be going in for mine on the 14th of October and have been a little emotional lately when I speak with my children mostly. I was like this with my 4th and final pregnancy as well .... I want to know the mortality rates - I want to know complications & what they look like... I am fearful and scared too - I'm trying to give it all to the higher power! There are so many major health reasons 'why' I need this ... My pros far out weigh the cons... Luckily! Prayers to you!!

JenI'm going to give the chantix a chance and with patches too. I'm going to begin tonight ... For years I've used smoking as a stress reliever - hence I have 4 little girls. :-) I need to be mindful today about other options to relieve the stress. I don't think a random smoke of a cigar / or even a black would pop a positive though ... That would depend on 'how' random the use was. I wish you the best. I know drinking lots of water helps to rid the body of tobacco toxins - looks like I'll be drinking it by the gallons!

My former husband receives an injection of naltrexone once a month. It has done wonders for him. It decreases the desire to drink & prevents the alcohol from having an effect on you. Best wishes to you.

Hi! My surgery date is October 14th. Filled with anxieties and must stop smoking this weekend so I can hurdle the tobacco test. ... A bit nervous since I've never tried stopping and have been a smoker for 22 years. I'm sure I'll pull it off just extremely stressed about it.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with Caresource in Ohio and if they approve for the gastric sleeve? Thank you in advance!
