  1. I used to buy a similar product from Safeway. It was spring Water with a hint of fruit essence; no sugar or sweeteners added. So it was just water with a touch of fruit flavor. They may have discontinued the Safeway brand, but I found a new product at Target last night. It's called Hint Water. It's water with a hint of fruit. The cherry sparkling water was one of my things to try last week. I've tried the cherry and spring apple flavor; they're great. I also have peach in my fridge. Looking forward to trying it tomorrow. https://www.drinkhint.com/#?offset=0&limit=40&includeUnavailable
  2. My surgeon has cleared sparkling Water but in moderation.
  3. I'm about five days away from my five month post-op anniversary. In that time, I have struggled with finding foods that I like and can tolerate. My diet pretty much consists of chicken drummettes (hot wings), chicken tenders, chicken nuggets (yeah, the breaded kind!), baked fish, shrimp, and bacon. I eat a lot of cheese and yogurt. I can tolerate steamed vegetables like broccoli and green Beans. I supplement my Protein with an unflavored Protein powder in the Minute Maid Just 15 lemonades and fruit punches. I give myself two days per week to try something new. This week, it was today and yesterday. Anyway, I decided to try a Coke Zero. I took two sips and choked. Too bitter. Today, I tried a Coke Zero Cherry. I figured maybe I just needed a little flavor. Nope. I can't believe I'm saying this but it seems I no longer like the chemical taste of soda. It's hard to describe it but it just didn't taste natural. I guess I'm just used to lemonade. I've tried fries. Nope. Too chalky. I've tried potato chips. Sits too heavy. I do tolerate popcorn, but I can't tolerate most breads. Oh! I do love rice. In a way, it's a victory. I used to love these foods. I could eat a whole bag of chips by myself. But now, since they don't taste the same, I can seriously do without them. Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has given an old favorite a try. What about you? Any favorites that you loved that you cannot tolerate now?
  4. I work an environment where there are many different cultures, and it's part of our office culture to Celebrate bi-weekly with some sort of food or potluck. For the most part, I decline going with my co-workers when we're celebrating someone's birthday; I avoid the pancake Thursdays or can walk away from the dozen donuts sitting on the counter. But, in spite of my self-control, there will be times when I will work in something outside of my usual routine. So, during an office meeting, if someone's passing around a bag of chips, I can keep passing it five out of six times. But maybe that sixth time, I take a chip or two to try. Or maybe I'll pick up a lumpia and take a bite. And at five months out, I'm driving past my favorite donut shop or declining BBQs because I know I'll be tempted. I'm not going to eat "perfectly" for the rest of my life, but I am learning to adjust. Sorry. I'm not familiar with that song. Good luck with your journey. I read where you said "mostly" stay away from fast food and junk. That reads--to me--that there's something you haven't avoided; or maybe something you've tried. I might be reading that wrong.

    Stomach stretching

The thing I've learned (being 4 months out) is that it also depends on how I sit. I never truly realized how much I slouched until after this surgery. If I'm slouching while eating, I can't much in. When I sit up straight, I am able to get food down.
  6. 256 lbs, but it's also my monthly cycle so I am not sure if there's water weight.
  7. I hate Isopure. It's too tart/acidic? for me.
  8. It's called ISOTECH 42. One bottle has 42 grams of Protein with 5 grams of carbs. It's cheaper than Isopure and tastes great. I have tried Grape and Fruit Punch. You can get them at Vitamin Shoppe. Sent from my SM-G360T using the BariatricPal App

    FSA cards in Mexico

You will have to find a bariatric center that has medical billing set-up otherwise the card will not go through. Not many of them have that, unless they have their billing company in the US. I was able to pay, then had my FSA reimburse me.
  11. Why no liquid? Milk of magnesium is a god-send. Two tablespoons and it will clear you out. There is a mint flavor. If no MoM, then try warm prune juice with a bit of miralax.
  12. I really miss the days when I didn't notice my stomach. Every day over the last three weeks, I have dealt with a lot of acid. It makes me feel ill. Does it improve over time?
  13. Current weight: 267 Goal weight: 240
  14. I've told my family, friends, and co-workers. Everyone has been supportive although my mom tried to talk me out of it, saying I was a big-boned individual who was meant to have meat on my bones. I disagree.
  15. I am looking forward to the Oh Yeah Protein bars. I think they are only 1 net carb. Sent from my SM-G360T using the BariatricPal App
  16. I am. I just went in for a relaxer and my stylist said that I had lost a lot of hair at the top of my head. I am only three weeks post-op!

    ketogenic/keto diet

I was on a keto diet months before I had surgery. There are a few forums on reddit dedicated to keto and they are great sources of information. You may want to research cyclical keto which allows for periodic carb increases for those who do heavy lifting. This is something many body builders do.
  18. I was prepared for the three week stall. I have read numerous threads about it and know it happens to everyone. I weigh myself once every few days, sometimes up to five days. I last weighed myself on Saturday. I was 270. This morning, I am 271.4. I am still on a liquid diet, getting about 75 to 80 grams of Protein. I drink about 50 ounces of Fluid, working to get to 64 ounces. My goal is to have a lymphatic massage to release toxins and detox. Is weight gain also normal during the stall? 19. Sure. I'm game. I will be 4 weeks post-op at the start of this challenge.
  20. Per my doctor's instructions, I am eating two ounces at a time while I am on soft foods. I hate 2oz of chicken salad about 1pm. At 2pm, I had a sugar-free popsicle. At 3pm, I had 2 oz of mashed potatoes. Bad mistake. I guess the chicken salad was still in my stomach because these potatoes are just sitting there, heavy in my chest. Mashed potatoes aren't typically on my diet, but my younger sister wanted to treat me to something so she brought home some mashed potatoes. I put some in my little container but I probably should have used milk or something to make it less dense. Never ever again. No more potatoes.
  21. My doctor's instructions are to have five meals a day at this stage. I figured two protein shakes and three small meals would be adequate. I just have to space them out more than every two hours.
