  1. When you are away many people miss your inspiration!! I am a year out and have been feeling bad because I didn't reach the personal goal I set for myself on the scale. My son had to set me straight by reminding me that even though I may not have lost a certain amount of weight I have made many changes in my lifestyle for the better and I am healthier than I have been in years. So keep your posts coming because I for one look forward to them and learn much from you????

  2. I go back and forth with logging my food. I did weight watchers for so long and tracked those points ! I will say that when I do keep track I am more aware of what my day is looking like food wise. I am a year out from surgery and still have much to learn. I am working towards it becoming second nature to me but boy old habits die hard.

  3. Welcome to the "club". That is so great that you made the decision to take control of your health. I am 56 and 5 weeks post op so am fairly new with so much to learn. The posts here have really taught me a lot and I learn something new every day. You are going to do great! I wish I would have done it sooner but can't turn back the clock so I am just looking ahead to this journey as I am sure you are:)

  4. Hi. Had first fill two days ago and it was easy! I was more nervous about the fill then I was about the surgery. I can honestly say the only thing I felt was the pressure from the RN palpating the area of my port to find it. It was over before I knew it and I was on my way. You will do great!!:)

  5. It could be from the injection. Everyone reacts differently. I was actually more nervous about the fill then I was the surgery!! For me all I felt was some pressure from the RN palpating the area to find the port. I couldn't believe how easy it was: ). I found out I have a 10 cc band and was given 4.5 ccs Wednesday. I go back next Thursday for another one. You will do great!!:):)

  6. I was a diet coke drinker like no one else!! I didn't want to go through the withdrawals from stopping it and post surgery at the same time. I stopped drinking it about a month before my surgery and it was so bad!!! Made me realize what the junk had been doing to my body!! Was banded in July and I honestly have not craved it once. I am so happy to not be drinking it anymore. You will have some not so fun symptoms withdrawing from all the garbage we have put in our bodies but it is so worth it. Keep on moving forward:):)!!

  7. I only had two days of Clear Liquids before my surgery. No other pre op diet. My surgeons office was pretty strong about me being sure I followed their instructions. If you are worried about it I would call their office and be honest with them and let them know. During my intake at the hospital the day of surgery I was asked two or three times by different medical professionals when the last time was I ate solid foods. Better to be safe at all times. Give them a call.

  8. I was banded on a Tuesday and went back to work the following Monday. The hardest part for me was the gas that settled in my mid back. My husband did karate chops in that area and it really did help. Pain wise I only took three of my pain pills. I had conjured up in my mind that it was going to be horrible and it was not bad at all. Yesterday was my first fill and they released me to do any kind of exercise I want. I am 5 weeks post op. Congratulations on making the decision to take control of your health:). Good luck on this new journey:)

  9. enjoythetime, thank you for your post. I have read every post of yours I can find since I started this journey myself. You are such an inspiration to me and I have learned so much from you. Your post today really hit home for me. Since I am so new to this (was banded July 22) it can sometimes feel so overwhelming. Thank you for your positive outlook and for sharing what I know I can also do with the same amount of hard work and will and determination. You rock!!:):)
