OMG I have heard that so often - are people totally nuts???? I have a one inch scar and what looks like freckles or moles, and heck I show them to anyone who wants to see. I was never fond of showing off my FAT BELLY. -
I want to adopt her and protect her from all the users that have been around her for so long. I feel so bad for these talented kids because they haven't had the chance to grow up. Every mistake they make is photographed and published. I am pretty stubborn - I wouldn't go in the back way either! I think more than the publicity, she is making a statement to everyone who tells her what to do. And think about it - those paparazzi are the constant fixture in her life - they are the ones who don't tell her how to act - they are friendly to her. So it would be easy to think of them as her friends, when you are young and mixed up. And you know what, I did drive with my little Kevin on my lap at times, but that was a long time ago before it was illegal to do so. But I remember how wonderful it felt to have that little one so close to me. I have an advance copy of her new CD, and I love it. I hope that her videos are good, and that she proves her talent once again. Nothing will change the panty-less excursions, so she should focus on what she can do for now. Those babies of hers are totally adorable, and I hope she gets it together and can be the mom they deserve.

OMG - this has to be one of my very favorite pet peeves. And to be totally fair, I publicly disagreed with your most talked about person when she said that ALL people who lose a lot of weight will have excess skin that can only be removed with plastic surgery. I've been riding a recumbent bike since surgery, and my skin is very tight. One advantage of slower loss. Now the girls have allowed gravity to defeat them, and in the spring I plan to return them to their proper location on my chest. But the rest is fine. Genetics and exercise.... -
Tell him you are doing a research paper on the Lap Band, and you are interested in fill levels at different points in the journey. Specifically you could be trying to determine if aggressive fills are better/worse than conservative fill. Or that regularly scheduled fills every 2-4 weeks in the beginning versus as-needed fills. This takes the personal and emotional aspect out of the equation. Or just say that it's your body, and you need to know!

I met someone today whose friend was banded over a year ago and hasn't lost anything. The bandster said the band restricts how much she can eat an any time, so the grazes all day long. ...sigh... -

I think I know the post you are referring to, and it is the second one in a short time where the bandster is proud of the daily dangerous habits. It really concerns me, because we all know that federal approval for any medical device can be yanked if there are enough reactions to it. Even those reactions brought on by the patient not following established guidelines. This is MAJOR surgery, costs one heck of a lot of money, and requires a lifestyle commitment. I have always tried to be supportive, but like you, I have started avoiding these posts. They aren't asking for help as they only want validation, and any response I can provide will not be appreciated. -

Another reason I miss my dad so much - he had very high expectations of me and a firm belief that I could accomplish anything I wanted. I see my FIL next week for the first time since Christmas - it will be interesting!

I do apologize for any unintended hurts I may have caused, because I had no malice toward you ever on OH. My actions are based on Pareto's Principle. Perhaps that will make more sense.

I would love to bury the hatchet, and not in someone's head either. Thanks for being honest, and speaking about your feelings directly. 'My' touchy pet peeve is someone speaking on behalf of others to advance their own opinions. It is one reason why I am so adamant about how I approach things. Not right, nor wrong - it just is my way. Same with you. Not right, nor wrong, just you. We can get past this.
