       I have researched until I am sick of researching.  Yes I am one of those people that enjoy knowing every detail, and so have spent years, yes YEARS researching WLS.  I started about 15 years ago with the band, went to TJ to the bandster bash and met a ton of great doctors, chose one, and did not have the operation, thank goodness.  Although your experience may be different, the band, through the years, has been shown to have caused a ton of problems.  Many have since had their band revised successfully.

      The new rage is the sleeve.  If you are ok with Acid Reflux and weight loss but not permanent weight loss, go with the cheapest and quickest WLS now.  i say the Sleeve is the new Band.  Avoid. 

      My years of research has brought me to like the MGB or mini gastric bypass as the operation of choice for best long term result of weight loss with least side effects.  Only 3 doctors in the USA perform this operation and quite a few in Mexico do perform it.  Dr. Kular in India is highly eperienced if you do't want to go to mexico.   Go to MGB section here in BP to learn more.  I set that section up here in BP so I could learn more about it and share what I learned.  It is a quick operation, simple and can be REVISED AND UNDONE.  You get to keep your stomach.  Super super sized folks as well as those needing to lose 100 or less can benefit.

      IF YOU ARE A SUPER SUPER SIZED BBW, WITH A VERY HIGH BMI, YOU WILL NOT GET ALL YOUR WEIGHT LOST WITH ONLY A SLEEVE.  Trust me on this.  Over and over super super sized folks are having to get their sleeve revised.  I blame the surgeons for this.  They are only too happy to give you a sleeve.  And then have to revise you down the road into a different WLS.  GET YOURSELF A DUODENAL SWITCH.  Very complex operation which actually starts with a sleeve, but gets more complex.  Yes, you can get it covered by USA insurance.  Pro:  I callthis the Steak, Lobster and butter WLS.  That is because that is what you eat.  if you are not losing weight, you are not eating enough fats.  yOU WILL LOSE WEIGhT.  A LOT OF weight.    Con:  you will always be taking lots of vitamins, or you will die.  You must always get your blood levels checked to make sure your vitamins are correct.  your poo and  farts will stink BADLY if you eat carbs or sugars.  IMPORTANT...
