  1. Kindle you are spot on! Thank you for the candor that we all need! I am 2 years post op starting out at 240 and was losing successfully until the following year where I hit a wall at 180. All my fault. As I was able to eat more, I began to make unhealthy choices and now for the first time , I am seeing weight gain creep up which is my call to action and need to get back to the behaviors my sleeve had started to give. I took it for granted and my success will expire if I don't act soon. As you pointed, I am responsible and accountable for my behavior so we need to control ourselves and stop looking for something else to drive us-or worse something else to blame.

    sleeve reset was successful

Thank you so much for sharing! I too am planning to "reset" my sleeve but I can't get past my hunger! It's amazing to me how that feeling of satiety quickly went away after 8 months of being sleeved! Which is more successful? The 5day pouch test or the 5:2 reset?
  3. Hi All, I'm ashamed to admit that it didn't take long for me to fall off the wagon. I was sleeved in August and for the first 6 months. The wright melted off plus my hunger was satisfied quickly. I loved every minute of my sleeve. I went from 240 to 181 in 6 months in March. And that's where I've remained since then. I will confess that in these last 4 months , I've been easily taking in pretzels, popcorn, bread and combining with high protein bars. I used myfitnesspal and have hit my protein goals everyday-always above 60 and usually staying at 80. I'm always hungry now my sleeve tolerates everything. I exercise - not vigorously but do keep active. I eat approx 1200-1400 calories a day. I feel like I e master maintenance and forgot how to lose. I refuse to go on a fad diet or any diet for fear of messing up my metabolism which the surgery corrected. I've attempted the 5 day pouch test but can't get past the 1st day due to my hunger. I'm a mess. Aside from needing more will power and self discipline , what else can I do that may be helpful for me to get back? Looking for help - please don't scold- I hate myself already! Your caring will be truly and wholeheartedly appreciated!
  4. VERY WELL SAID! I agree with s you said. I am 4 weeks post op and have not denied myself tastes if everything. The whole reason I did this surgery was to remove me from the DIET world. When I read comments on what people are eating or not allowed to eat, I second guess myself with, I suffered through this surgery and process just go get back on a diet ? No f 'no way!! My take on my sleeve , it will allow me to eat less and it will allow me to push my plate away. Of course always striving for well balanced and highly nutritious meals. That's the point- to stop the yoyo dieting and live normally . I love the fact that I can only handle 1/4c of anything - I love that it is hard to hit 1000 calories a day- I love the fact that I can barely finish anything- THAT is the point! It's about having a new natural limit so why deny? Thank you Alex for this post- long but very much needed!!

Miralax helped me a lot. Dissolves completely and no taste. It does take 1-3 days to work tho. Took a capful Monday night and had no results by the morning, so took another 2 capfuls....let's just say don't make plans to be anywhere for about a day and a half! LOL Same thing for me! Can we take womens laxatives if it gets bad?

Question for those on preop diet. If you're allowed to have half a cup of vegetables at dinner, lettuce included then what kind if dressing would be best, assuming you can use one. I forgot to ask my nut about this.

Start my liver reduction diet tomorrow. I thought for sure that today would be one massive eating orgy so that having just shakes would be a welcomed cure for a food hangover tomorrow. But as luck would have it- I have no desire to eat today-WTF?!

To our friends who were sleeved yesterday- how are you feeling today?
  20. Hi Friends! I start my preop diet on Friday for 10 days. I'm allowed 4 shakes a day, sf jello, sf Popsicle , broth, and 1/2 cup of vegetables a day. My question is how much weight can one lies following this for 10 days? And can one include coffees? Also, I purchased bariatric fusion powder shakes- any reviews on this?

    August Sleevers Check In

Hi Everyone! Just got back from my pre-op. No big deal- Drew blood and did an EKG and sent me in my way. To be honest, when I got my date, I was sooo excited. Now, after having walked through the hospital, I'm getting nervous. I'm a walking Murphy's Law. In that if anything can go wrong, it will with me or worse, I'll be the lone statistic of this not working. Don't get me wrong, I'm Not regretting my decision but walking the hospital halls made reality hit me hard and I almost had a second thought of , "is this really necessary?" But then, as I walked out and caught a glimpse of myself in the window glass, I'm like, "yep- really necessary".

Hi Coffeebeanz, let us how you do. What foods are you eating or drinking for preop. Does it help with appetite or fullness? Headaches or dizziness from not giving the body what it was used to?

    August Sleevers Check In

Here's a thought- since we are all so close and some with same surgery dates, how about we check in on each other as we go through our surgeries and recovery to see how things are going? since I've been hold numerous times that it's all trial and error, then we should share our experiences collectively so that we can also learn from each other on what has worked well or not. Not that everyone is the same but we can draw on each other's results, just like we have been doing all this time that got us here.
