Well it's 11:10 pm here and I'm wide awake, mind you I've been in bed for over an hour. I'm so tired, but the pain in my back going down to the legs is awful. I know it's probably just the jitters knowing I have to get up at 5:30 am to shower and finish packing, Be at hospital at 7:30. Just wondering if anyone else is up tonight...

Hi 27 th sleeves and others, I'm hungry! Are you having problems with this? I'm to do 2 shakes and a 3-4 ounce piece Protien and non starchy veggies. I'm starving, think that's why my head hurts so awful bad. -
What about your meds in the hospital? I do take a number of them, does the nurse bring them crushed with something or just sit them there and have at it? lol. I have none that is liquid but the pain med.

Hi Candidate and ladies Yes I have the jitters and a heck of a splitting headache for the past 3 days, with the neck pain to follow. I'd say I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I've even wondered if I'm doing the right thing! The amnestiologists told me I didn't look like I needed this and she shook her head saying they were getting smaller and smaller all the time. But I have lost 16 pounds and it feels good losing that. But there is always the but... If I don't get this done I will gain it back and more! So yes this is the best for me.

Hi 50 ladies, I had my pre admission yesterday and it took 2 hours to complete. But well worth it because now I just hit the door and by pass the admissions desk! Lots of questions about meds your on, lucky I made a list of them and the strength and what time to take them. The rn was so happy I had that made her job and mine easier. Had a ekg and blood work done, and spoke to the anesthesiologist also. She will give me some lala meds before surgery to calm me down, said most who come in for surgery are nervous. I have 4 days left... Will be at hospital at 7:30 for a surgery time of 8:30! Wow it's beginning to be so real.

Wow a UK fan and your having surgery same day as I am. Where is your surgery going to be? Mine is at the Flaget hospital in Bardstown. I am totally a UK fan also, men's basketball all the way! -
How is your pain levels on this 3-4 days out from surgery? I know everyone is different with pain. I'm asking because I'm having mine done the 27th and on Halloween will have adults and 8 of my grandchildren over for trick or treating! My daughter is worried about it and getting me tired out. My neighborhood is the one they come too to trick or treat. One lives in country and other has houses to far also. We also feed them pizza before they go out. I love Halloween and don't want to cancel.

October 27th Sleevers Roll Call
#9grammy replied to audefacere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Almostsleeved, sure you can join in. I'm a grandma with 9 grandchildren! And 2 adult children with their spouses. I have 2 male shizuhs and a male Yorkie also. I'm also getting married Jan 31 and hoping to lose some weight before I get my wedding clothing. I say clothing because I think I would like a bone color suit to wear. I'm too old for a wedding dress so a nice suit should be good for me. I also started this procedure in April and I thought the 6 months would go by so slow but it didn't and now here we are. Good luck to you -

Sleeve and Mental Illness
#9grammy replied to adiposehysteria's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am Bipolar and social anxiety, I am getting sleeved on the 27th Oct. I see a psychologist twice a month and psychiatrist every 3 months. They are both on board with this. I had to have a psych eval and a release for the surgery. But so many others having this wls done also get a psych discharge. -
Holliwood1980, were all there at some point in time. I have this week left and the closer it gets the more nervous I get, but I'm still excited also. :-) Hang in there what your feeling is normal.

Hi Della street, nail polish...my surgeon said none even on toes! I love my nails done, so going to get a manicure and pedi before surgery with no polish -
My surgeon recommends 2 Flinstone vitamins with iron a day. Since they are the chewable ones no problem going down.
