Hi, oh what a rough night I had tonight. Migraine from hell... Started about 6 pm, haven't had one that bad in years, took a good 3 hours to get through it, then started up again, took excedrine migraine then wondered about my stomach. Drank some low calorie g2 for carbs, bit of a jolt. Hungry so had 1/4 applesauce cup few min ago. So far so good. Keep up the hard work there, in a few weeks we will be flying high. -
Congrats and best wishes tomorrow. How old is your son? Mine is 36 and he's oblivious to my surgery also. Pack your Gasx strips and use the pain pump.

#9grammy replied to stob23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the unflavored broth and put it in jello, mistake. You can tell its in there and the jello has a dif consistency. I think I have some tubs of Shakes and unflavored unjury for sale. I'll stick to the premiere protein shakes -
Hi, finally after 6 days I'm back down to 199. Wow that took a long time to get it off. I've not heard anyone gaining 11 pounds after surgery. Now to start working on the other weight. I'm drinking 2 protein shakes a day, had a 16 oz glass u sweet tea decafe also. Getting the water in mainly at night or if I finish my tea will change to water. Takes a good 2 to 3 hours for me to get a shake down. How long has it taken others? Doing good with pain, will take pain med at night to help me sleep but it didn't work last night. Been sleeping in the bed since came home, have 3 pillows and a king size bed lol, just toss and turning all night it seems. Any others from Oct 27 28 out there to compare with?

Don't be stronger than your pain pump, use it as much as you can to be comfortable. Good luck -

Hi Kikicoates78, I also am 1 week post op. Still sore but only taking pain meds at night to sleep better. Having hard time getting liquid in, on all shakes now with cream soups. Trying to get those shakes down, takes a long time for one. How are you doing, getting your 60 protein in and water. Whew this is really the hardest time of this surgery I think. I gained 11 pounds while in hospital! Got it off and now at 199 that was my scale weight when I went in. Today I asked myself what did I do? I'm tired and worn out most the time. I wake up 4 am and that's when I do have energy? But reading all the posts so many months worth this too shall pass -
I'm 5 days out and still have belly pain, the gas I believe is gone. Unless it's settled into the back, my back sides really a he. Different pain for different people. Keep your head up and use the pain meds.

Popcorn at a month out wow,, u must really love it lol.

Bridget1015, your belly looks great... Mine is like a battle ground! Showed my daughter last night and she was amazed, so much bruising and 6 outlets. Big bruises from the blood thinners also. I'd hate to post a pic on here for a newbie to see, I'd be scared myself.

How was your experience on the drain? They pulled mine and I didn't know who was making an ungodful sound like so much pain.... Yep was me, boy I hadn't been informed of the drain pulling. But newbies going in use that pain pump regularly and before the pull. The nurse started pulling mine I thought it was wrapped up in the other organs, it's so painful. Poor nurse went and got me a morphine IV push and it sure took a few min to get my belly under control from the spasms to let the morphine work. Rest of the pain wasn't as bad as I thought it was after all that. Day 5 and my pain med is almost nil, probably can use some Motrin. Just having problems drinking, I know it's important so I'm trying. And weight lost? Never did, I gained 11 pounds. My feet still look like the Flinstones, I'm so swelled still up 8 pounds. Gosh went in for wls and ended up gaining weight.

Hello ladies, glad to hear most are doing well, congrats on that. My belly still hurts been 5 days, think I could use Motrin? Didn't ask dr. I'm having such a hard time getting liquids in . I don't think I mentioned that a year ago July so about 16 months ago I lost my sense of smell. Just up and left, slowly my taste started going and now it's horrible. For past 8 months I've not been able to eat anything chocolate! Candy bars hot cho, donuts, now it's effected the popcorn, pizza anything fried. French fries cooked anyway baked fried broiled! I'm limited to what I can eat. But somehow it's been for the better seeing I can eat meats and some veggies. Can't do lettuce tomatoes, Brussels sprouts. The smell of certain items ie coffee, pizza chocolate make me nauseous, it has a diff smell to it. But some other smells I don't smell at all, smoke, gas lol but it's true, lemons.the smells are gone. I've been to drs and ear nose throat specialists and nothing. Don't know why it left in the first place. My fiancé says it will work towards my advantage... I'd rather have my smell and taste back

Congrats on taking the step, I was sleeved this past Monday. Get up and walk, I felt so sore and like I had sandbags all over my body, in the bed to then I had to get up my whole body hurt. I got out of bed as much as I could and walked, but my 02 levels keep bottoming out and my heat rate jumped high. They kept me down in the bed, yes I would sneak up and sit in a chair, couldn't go anywhere with a cath in me and hooked up to IV's and O2. I ended up staying an extra night, home now and it's great. Drink all they tell you to, and try those popcicles, to me a half one was plenty, could have one every 8 hours. You will do great I hope, just keep walking
-
You will do fine, I've heard of people taking this 100 word test and saying it was nothing. I did my psych eval and it raw s only about 45 min long and I was approved that day
-
You know I've not gotten any of my normal medication since Sunday. They do give me Prevacid in melting form
-
I just had mine the 29 th, my belly is fully awake now, every other organ in there is awake and gurgling. Still hooked to the IV's, hoping today I will go home. I've only been given Popsicles 1 every 8 hours, and I can have the lemonade Protien drink they have here 30 cc cup 2 every hour with ice chips in between. I'm on clear liquids till Sunday then full liquids o pieces for couple weeks. Glad your doing so well

Can't sleep, surgery in am
#9grammy replied to #9grammy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Can u believe I don't remember! After the versed in the holding room I don't remember anything. Even moving over to the operating table and when I got to my room getting in this bed! Wow that was some powerful stuff. Ok I'm drifting, going to see if they will put me to bed. Later, Linda -
Been trying to sleep for a while now, have taken a sleeping pill at 9 pm still wide awake. Surgery in the am bet that's my reason for still being awake now. Normally I'm falling asleep by 8-9 pm, yep early to bed and early riser. Not that I like it that way, just seems to be how it is. What are all the Oct 27 sleevers doing now?
-
I am on the other side! Just took a walk down the hallway, first one. Sitting up in a chair and so tired it's hard to keep eyes open. I did GREAT! If it weren't for the new stomach hurting I would have no pain at all. Thank you for all the best wishes they sure have worked wonders.

Ok I'm almost ready to walk out this door and onto a new chapter in my life. Thank you for all the help over the past 7 months, I really appreciate the honesty and tips. Guess I'll be talking to you from the other side soon. Linda
