LainieG, congrats! So happy for you, I know it's been a very long time

I called them
-
hi ladies, been a while since I've posted but I read up everyday. LainieG I'm so glad your starting to move. I too have Medicare and was told by Medicare and Drs office have surgery first then they will approve it. I have comorbilities also that helps. I got sleeved Oct 27th and it still hasn't been approved! I check the Medicare site once a week now and nothing yet! You can say I'm a lot worried! My wedding is coming up in 2 weeks and I've lost 38 lbs all together. I did get a wedding dress I was on a stall for 5 long weeks then lost 3 more and back on a stall. It's aggrevating but I'm hanging in there.
-
Hi angply, I'm also 57 and had the sleeve done Oct 27th, so far have lost 35 pounds. I had no complications, does hurt in beginning but that's what we have pain meds for lol. I have been at a stall for about a month now which is really frustrating! Other than that I love my sleeve.
-
I'm a bit over 2 months out and was recommended Biotin 10,000 . I started taking it when I started the 6 month diet with PCP. So far it's thickened my hair and no great loss so far.

Mine has been 35 pounds. With a one month stall, today the scale dropped a pound so just maybe it's over? My surgery was Oct 27th

#9grammy replied to Lindsey Skinner Abbott's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a drain tube put in, wow never did I feel so much pain when the nurse pulled it out! -
I was like that also, NUT said get G2 Gatorade the G2 is low calorie. I drank a small one and didn't feel light headed anymore.

Happy Xmas (Stall is Over)
#9grammy replied to Lallylocks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still on a stall, thought it was over but I keep fluctuating between 179-181. It's frustrating! I went back to drinking 2 shakes a day and a protein and veggie for supper. Then will have unsweetened applesauce or unsweetened Popsicles for snack. I get my fluids in and protein so what gives? -
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all
-
Wow, I couldn't handle the unjury chicken soup or the chocolate, gave them all away. I can do the vanilla though and it's good.
-
I'm still here too, been coming here now and then and not seeing any updated posts. I'm still fighting stalls, just can't move beyond 179-181! What gives? Went back to 2 shakes a day and simple dinner of protein and veggies. Just had Christmas at granny's last night with all 9 grandchildren and their moms and dads. It was wonderful to see them all together, ate my first piece of pizza a small one but it was delicious ! Merry Christmas to all of the fifties group who still are out there somewhere. LainieG , when is your surgery?

That's great, keep it up sexy granni

Tricare doesn't do the sleeve surgery. Only the bypass, I have Tricare and Medicare and I have to pay the 20% that Tricare was suppose to. If you get this done in a military hospital, hard to also, then it's free. Even with my Medicare it's been almost 8 weeks and I still don't know if they are going to cover it. With Medicare you have surgery then submit your papers for approval! Insurance with the government is crazy...

I had to go back to drinking 2 shakes a day and a protein and veggie meal. Started to drop again, hope it keeps up

I've been on a stall for almost 5 weeks now . I don't know what I'm doing wrong but this is very frustrating
-
I have been on a stall for the past 4 weeks! Still on it, Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks out. I do feel good though and the weight I've lost has been fabulous! But I'm still wondering when this stall will end...
-
I too have been on a 4 week stall. I increased my food and water and still nothing. I see my surgeon on Tuesday so will see what I'm doing wrong then.

How does Sleep Apnea complicate the VSG date?
#9grammy replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The sleeve has actually helped me with sleep apnea, I'm not snoring either. My pulmonary dr was glad to hear me agetting this done, I'm hoping to soon be taken off oxygen at night. Idk if it will happen because I have COPD pretty bad but I can hope. -
Nervous and not sure what I should be doing to prepare
#9grammy replied to Ready_For_Me_13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Vitamins I was told 2 Flinstones complete were good to use. I also bought lots of different protein drinks in chocolate... I hate chocolate now! Chocolate of any kind I just can't tolerate it. My better half is on the slim fast diet with me so he is drinking all my protein drinks that I cant. So yes do buy 1 or 2 of something but remember your taste can change after surgery. -
When can you get back in the pool?
#9grammy replied to heynowkc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked about my hot tub and was told 6 weeks, don't know if it's the same as a public pool. -
How do you guys eat out...
#9grammy replied to TeacherMommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go to IHOP and order 2 scrambled eggs with American cheese, just enough for me! -
And still not losing! I was sleeved Oct 27 th, I've lost 17 pounds since surgery and 32 since I started my journey way back in April with my first PCP appointment. I'm still on puree foods per my doctor but have been having some soft foods this past week. I have been on this stall since my 2 week mark. I still have 1 protein shake a day then I would eat for fried beans or cream of wheat/oatmeal. Cottage cheese and yogurt another staple for me. I'm also walking 15 min a day on treadmill at a fast pace I get in a 1/2 mile walk. Usually all I can do because of COPD. What am I doing wrong? Anyone else stalling out like me?
-
At 9 days out you should be feeling pretty good pain wise. I still got tired at 2 weeks out and 4 days out was Halloween. We had everyone over that was 19 of us here and I ordered pizza for all. Tired when they left though. It all depends on you and how your feeling on Christmas Day. Everyone is different with their tiredness and pain levels. I've read some have been out shopping just 4 days after surgery!

How to end the stall
#9grammy replied to bookgirl1972's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in my 4 th week and at a stall for over a week. Hmm eating more? might have to try that. I've been at this stall to long and only have lost 15 pounds since surgery.
