I am 52 years old and decided to take my life back. I have many family/friends who've had bypass surgery and are doing great. However, I don't know any who've had the sleeve.

I was not always this big. I was a "normal" size 10 for many years and gradually as I got older the weight started going up. I would lose 15 lbs and gain back 10. Just a yo yo thing.

My son is going to be 21 in August and a senior in College. I want to be around to see his life progress. I want to see my grandkids someday.

My husband and I married in 2006 (2nd marriage for both) and I was a size 18 at the time. He has never said anything to me about my weight. He is an avid runner and 5k nut and is on an over 40 soccer league, so it's hard to see him so active and i'm not. I want to share the things he enjoys with him. Not running, but hiking and things like that.

So here my journey begins! I'm nervous and excited. I also wonder if I'm taking the "easy" way out. But anyway it's my life and my choice.
