"When I finally lose the weight I am excited to...."
sa1976 replied to V.V.V.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This question has got me thinking a lot. -the first thing is to be off my blood pressure medicine. -second to be able to let this active diva inside me come out and I will be able to achieve all my fitness goals - third is to go into the stores I take my size 4 , 25 year old daughter in and buy something other than a bag or socks. -
I here what you are saying. They put me on a 1400 calorie diet. I thought it would be impossible but it was NOT I are protein and it filled me up. Next my 2 week preop diet will be 1000.

sa1976 replied to Tracis weight loss journey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello I live in Philly. I am pre-op for a gastric sleeve. I am having my surgery at University if Pennsylvania no date yet. I have my psych eval and the last if my test on August the 14. My surgeon's assistant said I would probably have surgery in Sept. My nut/dietician stated I am doing great. I am down 10 lbs since i started my WLS preparation. -
my boyfriend doesn't approve of the surgery
sa1976 replied to chad.vicious's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chad. Everyone has given you some great advice. All I want to say to you is you must love yourself first. Having this surgery is not easy at all. So do not stress yourself about being lazy. If you and your boyfriend are meant to be then he will come around. He sounds like he has some insecurities that he needs to deal with. Good luck to you. -
It was very hard today to do this upper GI series. The barium they had me drink was disgusting. But all through it I was like God this is just a hurdle to jump over to get to my goal.

I knew I shouldn't have said anything!
sa1976 replied to erint2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is funny that you mentioned that. I was thinking about that today when I finished Spinning class. Then I thought it us none of her business. I am going to tell her I am having surgery and when I am cleared to come back to spinning. I will be back. This is my journey no one else's. I am tired of worrying about what others think. If I spend my time doing that I could be dead or have a heart attack. The people who matter know and they have seen me lose weight and gain it back. The maintenance part of weight loss is the hardest. Some people do not understand. - sorry just needed to vent. -
I got my date today! August 5th! Who's with me

sa1976 replied to Myonlybattle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been trying different shakes. Today I tried the Isopure coconut it was delicious. But I found I was not hungry at after drinking it. I also tried the GNC lean shake it was good also. I am just going to try them. I also tried the muscle milk. I did not like it at all. -
Batiatric support group meeting
sa1976 replied to sa1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was a great. Where I am having my sleeve done it is mandatory to attend one. They have them every month. It was a guy who has been going every month for 5 years. -
Today I went to my first bariatric support group meeting. It was AWESOME. It was so informative and helpful to meet people who have gotten over the speed bumps. Just like being apart do this group. I have been learning so much.

105 pounds down in 6 months!
sa1976 replied to hkdontplay's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look great. Congratulations -
My nut put me on a 1400 calorie diet. It is hard for me to meet that goal. She also wants me to eat 25 g of protein a day. The protein feels me up. I have lost some weight. My next appointment is July 10. I was nervous that I will lose too much weight. I am working out three days a week. I waiting to see what she says on Jul 10. I am also logging everything. If I do not lose enough I am hoping she gives me more pointers on what I am doing wrong.

Should I try Protein Shakes Now or Just Wait?
sa1976 replied to Myonlybattle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone for the advice of trying the protein shakes out now before surgery is great idea. I am planning to go to GNC and try different ones. I think they sell them individually. Is it a good idea to get the powder also. -
My surgeon recommended that I continue with the support groups after surgery. I am having my psych evaluation on August 14. I had to fill out a 300 question booklet. A friend of mind stated that she failed the first time because she is depress and bipolar.

I wish all of y'all success. Stay strong and know we are all here for you.

No problem. We have to look out for each other.
