I Havent Been Banded Yet But I Would Definitely Say Ask Your Doctor About It And If You Can Then Go For It

Thank You So Much For Everyone's Support. I Was Really Nervous About Posting All My Feelings Out There But It Is Really Hard For Me To Talk To My Immediate Friends/family Since They Are One Sided. I Know What I Need To Do That Is For Sure But It Hurts So Much. I Have Realized That I Am A Victim In This Relationship And That I Have Given And He Has Taken. I Have Spoken With A Counselor Before And They Have Told Me About Alcoholics And How Many Victims Find It Just As Hard To Leave Because You Get Used To "taking Care Of Someone"....i Just Have To Be Strong And Get It Done Sooner Than Later. I Appreciate You Guys And I Look Forward To Strengthening My Ties Here

I WORK FOR AN INSURANCE COMPANY AND I WORK OVER IN THE REFERRAL/PREAUTH SIDE. I ALSO HELP WITH THE MEDICATION APPROVALS, ETC. I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD GREAT RESULTS WITH PROACTIV. PERSONALLY, I HAVE NOT USED IT THOUGH. I USE CETAPHIL SOAP AND CLEAN AND CLEAR ASTRINGENT. THE KEY TO THIS IS HAVING A ROUTINE. I HAVE NO ACNE. I USED TO HAVE IT BAD ESPECIALLY IF IT WAS THAT TIME OF THE MONTH, ETC. WITH THE PROACTIV, YOU SIGN UP FOR WHAT SEEMS LIKE A GREAT DEAL BUT THEN THEY KEEP SENDING YOU THE STUFF FOR LIKE A YEAR AND IT IS VERY VERY EXPENSIVE. PRESCRIPTION WISE YOU CAN GET RETIN-A FROM YOUR DOCTOR BUT IT REALLY DRIES UP YOUR SKIN SO YOU HAVE TO FIND A GOOD MOISTURIZER!!!!!

I Would Say Anything That Hasnt Been Fda Approved Is Not Always The Best To Trust And Take. It Sounds Like Alot Of The Over The Counter Meds That You Can Buy For Menopause.

But I still wonder when I hit 155 lbs, if I will be happy with my appearance, or if I'll always see myself as the fat girl in the room.<!-- / message --><!-- sig --> __________________ WOW!!! YOU COULDNT HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!! I OFTEN WONDER THAT TOO!! ITS HARD TO IMAGINE EVER GETTING TO THAT POINT AND BEING SATISFIED BUT I BELIEVE WE WILL. I JUST GOT APPROVED SO I HAVENT GOTTEN A SURGERY DATE YET BUT I HAVE ASKED MYSELF THAT SAME QUESTION. WILL I SEE A DIFFERENT PERSON IN THE MIRROR? WILL PEOPLE NOTICE A DIFFERENT ME? -

I Have Found That It Is Better To Allow Yourself A Bite Of That Yogurt Rather Than Fight With Your Inner "fat Demon" As I Call It And End Up Eating A Gallon Of Yogurt....the Key Is Portion Sizes...i Think If You Allow Yourself A Bite Of Yogurt You Will Find Out That It Wasnt As Great As You Thought It Was Gonna Be -
Snuffy, Thank You So Much For Your Information!! Im Glad To Hear There Are Others Out There With The Crohn's Disease Who Have Been Banded. I Have Researched The Lap Band For Over A Year Now And Personally From What I Have Researched It Seems That The Lap Band Would Actually Help Those Who Have Crohn's Disease. I Also Have Pcos, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Every Doctor I Have Gone To Has Always Told Me I Need To Lose Weight But Then They Also Follow It Up With The Usual Comment Of Between My Crohns And Pcos, The Odds Are Working Against Me To Lose It On My Own. I Hope That By Getting Banded, I Will Have The Chance To Get Healthy!!! Thanks
-
Thank You ! Thank You ! Thank You ! I Got Approved For Surgery!!!!!!! I Have To Meet With The Surgeon About The Lap Band Because The Nurse Said They Are Going To Use A "smaller" Band?? Anyone Know About This??
-
I Have Been Researching The Lap Band Procedure For A While Now And I Have Also Been On Here Almost Everyday Reading Through The Discussions. I Have A Couple Of Questions If Anyone Would Like To Answer These. 1. Is It Easy To Just Go Back To Overeating/not Exercising And Not Lose Anything With The Band? Or Do You Actually Feel A Difference With The Band...more Restriction? 2. I Have Heard With The Bypass, People Can Have Alot Of Excess Skin Due To How Quickly You Loose The Weight...has Anyone Experienced This With The Lap Band? 3. Anyone Had Lap Band And Then Experienced Pregnancy? If So, Did You Have Any Complications? Thanks To Anyone Who Responds

Will anyone ever notice my weight loss?
FRECKLES3 replied to Alexra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That Is An Amazing Accomplishment...you Go Girl!!!! I Havent Had The Band Done Yet Cuz I Am Still Awaiting Approval But I Can Tell A Difference Already In Some Friends/family. I Think It Was Dr. Phil Who Had A Show A Few Weeks Ago About How People Will Unconsiously Do Things To Emotionally Hurt Others. For Example, 2 Sisters Live Together And One Decides To Go On A Diet. The One Not On The Diet Will Unconsiously Try To Get The One On The Diet To Be Bad By Bringing Home Bad Food, Etc. Maybe Your Family Wasnt Unconsiously Doing It But Im Sure There Were Some Jealous Ones. My Best Advice Is To Remember That " Life Is All About You"....if You Take That Attitude And Put It Into Every Situation You Come Into....others Will Take Notice!!! Notice Of How Bold And Beautiful You Are!!!!!! -
Has Anyone Gone To The Peoria Surgical Group In Peoria, Illinois?? If So, What Doctor Did You See And What Would You Have To Say About Him? Thanks For Any Input
-
Im Glad To Hear That....good Luck To You
-
spjones, i am fairly new to this site so i see that you have a weight loss ticker at the bottom...did you have wls surgery even with your crohns?? if so, how have you been since then?

I Am 25 And I Was Diagnosed With Crohns Disease When I Was 12..so Almost 13 Years Ago....i Was Hospitalized At That Time For About A Month...i Had 6-8 Inches Of Intestines Removed , A Cecetomy, And An Appendectomy. Since That Time, I Have Had No Complications And Have Never Taken Any Medicine. I Have Regular Check-ups With My Gastroenterologist And There Have Been No Concerns Or Problems. Sometimes I Even Wonder If I Was Misdiagnosed Since Crohns Wasnt Well Known At That Time...i Really Think I Just Had An Obstruction Of Some Sort And No Dr Will Tell Me "yeah You Were Misdiagnosed"....on 6-28-05 My Case Will Be Reviewed With All The Surgeons And I Should Know The First Week In July If A Surgeon Will Perform The Lap Band Procedure....i Will Let Ya Know..thanks For Your Info..
