Hi, I have had GERD for years and been on Nexium for years. I had surgery on the 24th. I can not say my Gerd has gotten wors. I burp more but i do not know if it is the gas from surgery or gerd. I do know the burping occurs more at night. I always felt my weight contributed to my gerd. Hope this helps.

I am at day 6 post op. Have been drinking 48oz of water and my three shakes plus the two tablespoons of whatever I am allowed with each meal. I am walking and doing everything I am supposed to do yet i am craving sweets, And I am hungry. Is this normal? I feel like I could eat just about anything. The only thing stopping me is knowing how sick I would get if I even attempted to go off the liquid diet. Any suggestions? What is wrong with me.

I start my pureed stage Wednesday and have no idea what i am going to eat. Maybe those who have gone ahead of us can share some good recipes.

I also got some bad headaches but everything does get better in time. Be patient and take a tyelnol.

I still have not had a bowel movement. I had surgery on 6/24. Took 2 softeners yesterday and 1 today is this normal?

I have suffered from Migraines since my teens. Fiorinal has always worked. I would take 2 and it almost always worked the first time. Now I have had the surgery and am not allowed Fiorinal anymore. Anyone have suggestions i tried Imetrix in the past but did not like it. I need to find something that is going to work quickly.

I am having the opposite problem. I have not gone 5 days post op. Taking a softener but no results yet

I am also very sore at day 5 but seems to get slightly better day by day.

Just out of surgery a couple of hours . Gas not to bad but waves of nausea any suggestions?

I had my surgery at 7:30.this morning. Everything went well. Some pain and discomfort and nausea but all are being managed by meds. In the very beginning gas pain was terrible but has really eased alot. I wad on ice chips and they just bought me a clear liquid dinner. Broth, jello,protein shake. Broth was fery salty so so haf a bite of jello and a sip of the shake. Got some gas.. All in all so tar a pretty good experience. No buyers remorse yet but want the blasted catheter out.

Well in twelve hours iI will he in the OR getting the sleeve. At the present my emotions are mixed scared, excited, nervous. Will i lose all the weight I want to? Will there be complications? So many thoughts running through my head.... What will be will be. Good luck and best wishes to everyone on this journey to better health.

Thanks for the feedback. I started using my fitness pal today. I am not into diary writing so this will be a challenge for me but I can see its usefulness.

The day is almost here June 24 7:30 anxious for this to be over. Also nervous and scared will i ever enjoy going into a grocery store again?

Congratulations and welcome. My date is the 24th so i will try and keep u informed of how it is going. Been on pre-op diet a week, cheated a few times but Dt. Says I am good to go. Diet was not that bad,

My insurance took only 2 days for final authorization. Horizon Blue Cross/shield . They allow up to a week.

Update thank you sll for ur support found out today well really yesterday surgery is a definite for the 24. Hip hip hooray!!!

Well, i had my date for 6/24 and received a call from the Drs. Office that the girl responsible had dropped the ball and had not submitted my paperwork for the final authorization from insurance. She has had everything for since the 11th. The office says it takes 5 days to get final authorization. So I am in a hold pattern. Is this a sign i should not do surgery? I am so totally peeved at the incompetence of this woman. To top it off she has an attitude and just wants to make excuses for her incompetence. At this point i do not know what to do, wait until Monday, pick a new date or just cancel the whole thing.

I was scheduled for the 24 for over a month and just discovered i may have to postpone for week. I started my diet this past Tues. not to bad so far.. But with surgery possibly being delayed i am in flux about what to do about diet. Z Good luck on ur journey will help out when i can hopefully we will end up being only a day apart

Still in a quandry, the office also penciled je in for 7/21 which is only a week letter but i my Dt. Only wants you on a liguid diet for a week. So should i stay on liguid diet hoping fot the 24th or stay on it for two weeks in case it is 7/1 Dr said due to mix up i could be on liguid diet just one day if surgery is the 24 any suggestion on what to do?
