Awwww you poor baby I am so sorry you had to go through that but your are too funny. Your poor neighbor got flashed, I hope that wasn't a good thing, your poor daughter has exposed herself to a stranger. Your poor dog will never want to pee outside again. Oh yeah you darn skippy that was exercise, great job! Keep up the great work....LOL!

say it again.....say it again

A scale is definately a really good friend because they tell you truth even if you don't want to hear it. You may get upset at first but you are upset about what was said and you take it out on the friend. You can use that energy and make it a positive situation when you guys get together and even if it doesn't say what you want, you at least know you are working to make the next meeting better.

I hear you, I like Bob also. I have Oprahs tape and someone gave me the Bob's first book. It's amazing how we can sit and watch others exercise and not do a thing. Guilty as charged.

August 31, 2006 Smile...You're on Candid Camera A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Diet Words Why look to magazines and size-zero models for inspiration? One of the best motivators around is your own body and your own results, as BLC members have recently shared on the site. "I take a picture once a week and compare. Wow, what a difference a week will make!" says one member. "Once you start, you can't stop!" Another member takes pictures too, but does it once a month in order to see more noticeable changes. On top of that, she says, "On the first of each month I take my new picture and post it above my scale with all the rest and on the refrigerator in a more public setting. Letting others know about my lifestyle change helps a lot." Still another member uses a video camera. "I taped my favorite pair of jeans to my bare backside and turned the camera on record," she says. "I walked around, recording at all angles...I could not believe how much of me showed on each side of the jeans." Now she says, "I plan on doing the video after each weigh-in. Just seeing the scales go down can sometimes make me think it's okay to cheat a little on the diet and cut short the exercise. This way I will know and not be able to lie to myself." Like the saying goes, the camera doesn't lie. You can look better and better. Prove it to yourself!

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=73 This should help with the lingo and as far as it getting easier. I think right after surgery it will be easier. You won't be hungry and you will get full off of fluids and your chewable vitamin supplements. Find a protein drink you like and make it your new friend. Hydration is so important for the first few days and even weeks after surgery. It is hard to believe how difficult it is to drink 8 glasses of water a day for the first few weeks.

You will get it together, don't stress.

WOW you mom's story says so much. It is amazing, your parents would have never met if it wasn't for her first husband. Life is so strange. I'm sorry she had to go through that mess. -

Dinner sounded delicious. My daughter wanted roast beef yesterday but I was cooking for our picnic today so we ate some the chicken. OK I think I just want to talk about food. I cooked greens and cabbage and mixed them together. I cooked some potatoes with the veggies then took them out and mashed them lumpy. I also baked chicken thighs then pulled the meat off the bone and shredded it. Then I reheated the pulled chickenwith BBQ sauce mmmmm mmmmmm. I will take the chicken and pasta salad to the picnic. Ohhhh I forgot to put the onions in the salad, I will do that when I get home. Why did I type this here. I don't know. Hey MoOrLess. See ya Ali. -
9th graders don't take pictures of going back to school.....so not cool.

I'm sorry marys you are having such a hard time. Weight loss and keeping it off isn't easy weather you've had surgery or not. It sounds like you would benefit from a support group. Nutri System, Jenni Craig, WW all offer help but a great cost but if you have the money go for it. I have one suggestion look into TOPS Take Off Pounds Sensibly, they have been around forever. They don't tell you what to eat or when to eat they are there for support. If you have the band and go on Nutri System, the soup diet and hang from your toe nails at night so the food won't go to your thighs.....TOPS members are there for support and encouragement. Yes you have to pay for TOPS also...a whopping $27 a year and monthly dues, each chapter is different, our dues are $3 a month. First meeting is free, check out the website, put in your zip code in the the "meeting" block to find the closest meeting to you and go visit. They are always welcoming and friendly. Good Luck http://www.tops.org/

ha ha do they even know what they are talking about??

Awwwwww you guys told on yourselves......you watch Springer :omg: -
LMAO, you will have to very carefull of what you eat and when you eat. You will have to find your safe foods and eat very slowly giving your pouch a chance to let you know it is almost full before you put that next bite in your mouth that will send you over the top....pb. You may want to stick to shakes or Soups until you get the hang of it. I've had very few at work and when I did I knew I was pushing the envelope. I hate a hash brown, I tried to eat a Breakfast sandwich, rice, ate too fast, drank too soon after eating. Everyone is diffrent so you will have to listen to your body.
