    Never admitted until NOW

    Food Network is still my nemisis and I can't turn away. I can turn the channel walk through the living room go to the bathroom, go the kitchen and by time I get back to the living room the dag on channel is back on Food Network. How did that happen, then I say I turned from that because it was making me upset(hungry). I love food shows....ummmmmmm. Marysuee33 goodluck and let us know if you are able to get yoru car to go pass the McD. Been there done that. I have Bojangles KFC Taco Bell Burger King Popeyes Checkers Wendys and McDonalds in that order near me. (WOW I didn't relize there were so many, I need to move) I can get the closest one in 2 min and farthest in 4min. That is so sad. I thank God for my band. I still visit all of these wonderful locations but not everyday as I did in the past and my choices are a whole lot smaller or diffrent all together. Now I can actually drive pass these places even when I have money in my pocket.

    I love veggietales...jumping up and down. veggie taaaalees veggie taalesss *singing* cupcakes if hard floors, lillipops if there is carpet LOL bring a friend puppets for them to hold a veggie tale movie playing, that will keep the kids quiet They sale themselves.

    How dare she!!!

    Piggy backing off T O M gripe about customer service and money exchange, I hope I'm not to heavy. I love good customer service, I truly appreciate it and I will go as far as to ask for a manager, call back to the store or call the coporate office to give kudos when fit. I also will make those same request and calls for bad service. People have fogotten commen curtousey much less good customer service. I can go to stores in MD and then to VA and it is like night in day in so many cases. I ask myself why do I drive further out to a store until I decied to revist a store closer to home. I quickly remember why I make the extra drive. Insert gripe here: I can't stand when the cashier puts the money on the counter.....what......I will stare at them and continue to hold my hand out until it gets in the palm of my hand. Please forgive me but I have run across this only with asians on about 4 occasions. If I am with someone and the cashier does that, I tell them not to pick it up. If you had put the money down on the counter I could understand but you didn't, you put it in their hand. Phone call, email, letter, something.....

    Excessive Fatigue After Increase?

    I have high blood pressure and while going to the gym, before being banded, I began to lose my breath after working out for a short period of time and it got worse and worse. I could barely walk. I was sent to a cardiologist to have a stress test. They did an EKG and another sonogram of my heart. I have an enlarged heart which caused the fatigue and shortness of breath. Oh yeah I could not do the stress test because my pressure was so high. I was put on meds and told to lose weight, hence lap band surgery. I need to go back and have the stress test done now.

    Water-Friday-yessssss

    I have not been drinking my water as I should, don't ask my why. Sooooo I have a gallon with me today and I think I may end up drinking the whole think before I leave work today. I hope not but if it happens it happens. Today I will be having a wonderful meal slimfast for breakfast soup/slimfast for lunch chips for snack soup/salad dinner

    I am going to try #8 in a load of colored clothes. I have not been drinking all of my Water for the past 2 days so I have gallon sitting beside me right now and I plan on finishing it before I leave today. I'm almost at the half way point. I need to go to the potty for the second time .....bye

    How long was your belly big postop?

    The gas lasted longer for me but the xxtra stength gas x, chewable of course, really helped. I was swollen for at least 2 weeks. Jeans, that's wishful thinking. LOL

    September 11, 2006 Today's Recipe: Sizzling Stir Fry Let Lisa Andreone show you how pork is done. Guilt-free. Lisa Andreone lost 47 pounds while at the ranch. But back at home she's kept on going. "I've adapted everything in my life around eating right," she says. And this recipe proves it, combining a twist of fresh, Asian flavor, plenty of Protein, and very little fat. Ingredients: 3 cups broccoli, chopped 3/4 cup chicken broth, divided 1/2 cup chopped green onions 2 tablespoons chopped garlic 2 tablespoons chopped ginger 2 teaspoons olive oil, divided 1 cup chopped yellow onion 1 red bell pepper, halved, seeded and diced 2 teaspoons olive oil 1 pound boneless pork tenderloin, cut in strips, 1/2 inch wide and 2 inches long 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds To Prepare: Steam broccoli until bright green but still firm. Drain; rinse with cold Water to stop cooking; drain again. Combine 1/4 cup of the broth, the green onion, garlic and ginger in food processor and pulse until mixture is minced. Set aside. Heat 1 teaspoon of the oil in a large saute pan. Add onion and bell peppers; saute 5 minutes or until vegetables are just tender. Transfer to a bowl. Add remaining oil to pan over medium-high heat. Add broccoli mixture and saute for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add pork and soy sauce and saute for four minutes or until pork is nearly cooked. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of broth and bring to a boil. Add broccoli and stir until broccoli is cooked through, about 3 minutes. Add onion and bell pepper back to pan. Divide between 4 plates and garnish with sesame seeds. Yield: 4 servings Nutritional Values: Fat: 13 g, Carbohydrates: 13 g, Protein: 36 g, Calories: 311 kcal.

    September 12, 2006 Admit it, You're Terrific Learning to praise yourself can keep you on the diet track. Here's what happens: you're about to go to the gym, when you think, "Why bother? I'm already so out of shape and overweight and lazy, I might as well just sit here." Your negativity crushes your chances at changing your life AND your body. In the same way you taught yourself to be your worst critic, you can just as easily teach yourself to be your most loving coach. Success begins when you stop being so hard on yourself and Celebrate everything you have going for you. Try this simple exercise: What do you like about yourself right now? Take out a piece of paper and make a list of all your likeable qualities. Keep going until this list is as long as you can make it. You might include things like: I have sexy eyes, I have thick hair, I can make people laugh, I am a good cook, I'm creative, I'm trustworthy, I'm a good friend, or I'm intelligent. Keep adding to this list as you get in better shape. In fact, read it to yourself whenever you get the chance. Positive thinking can help you develop self acceptance and body confidence. So go ahead and like yourself. Right now!

Monday: treadmill 40 minutes, weights 20 min, abs 10, stretch 5 Tuesday: treadmill 40 minutes, weights 20 min, abs 10, stretch 5 Wednesday: treadmill 40 minutes, weights 20 min, abs 10, stretch 5 Thursday: treadmill 40 minutes, weights 20 min, abs 10, stretch 5 Friday: treadmill 40 minutes, weights 20 min, abs 10, stretch 5 Saturday: treadmill 40 minutes, weights 20 min, abs 10, stretch 5 Sunday: rest, repeat Doing the same routine over and over eventually gets boring, even if you're enjoying those things right now. Biggest Loser Andrea Overstreet learned the hard way and wants you to avoid the same pitfalls. Here are her tips: 1) Be creative with your exercise choices. "Find things that stimulate you. Try new things and take risks. I am taking yoga 2 to 3 days a week and started taking a belly dancing class. It's great fun." 2) Change your routine BEFORE it gets boring, so you don't "wear out" any of your options. "By changing up my routine and incorporating different types of exercise I have had better results and am able to stay focused." 3) Let the weather and world inspire you. "Even if you love the gym it's good to get outdoors especially in summer. Go for a jog or find a trail to hike."

    Who waited longer to get their first fill?

    I was banded on July 8 and got my first fill on Sept 18. I went back in August and my doctor asked was I eating meals and not snacking and was I exercising. If I could not answer those questions with a firm yes he says do you think you need a fill right now. If my weight loss is good he doesn't do it. I have been banded for 14 months now and just got my 3rd fill. My weight loss, I think is good but it could have been faster with a fill. But why do I need to speed it up if this band is going to be in me for yearsssssss. Slow and steady so I can learn how to eat the smaller meals, better choices and exercise on a regular basis.

    I hate Medical Mutual!

    The nutritionist appts can be counted into the 6 months. If you have been seeing your doctor recently, that should count, don't you get weighed when you go. Good Luck and keep up the good fight.

    September 14, 2006 - First Day of Serious Consideration

    Congratulations that is awesome. There will be lots of appts but some you should be able to get done at the hopsital and kill a couple of them at one time. You psych appt and sleep studies will be the appt done on the outside and may take the longest to get into and finish.

    Kudos on the walk, keep it up. Keep sipping, drink plenty of fluids. When you get that craving to eat, it will come, be sure to have some sugar free popsicles or fudgesicles on hand.
