September 21, 2006 Sayonara Soda, Hello You Tune in to The Biggest Loser Wednesday 8/7c on NBC! Club members skip the sugary drinks in favor of losing pounds Those frosty bubbles can look so innocent and refreshing. But the truth is most sodas have about 150 calories per can (and most of us drink from the much larger plastic bottles) as well as enough sugar and caffeine to throw our whole systems out of whack. Taking the small step of cutting out soda can lead to huge changes, as our Biggest Loser Club members report. "I used to drink large amounts of Coke daily: one when I got up, one at my first break, one with lunch, one on my second break, and more Coke when I got home! One day, I decided not to drink it anymore. I drank more Water, juice, and tea, and I lost 19 pounds FAST!" "I started with small things...I gave up diet soda and drank more water. And I am happy to report that I lost 6 pounds this week and my BMI is now out of the obese category." Way to go! If you're looking for an alternative to soda, try water. Keeping your body well hydrated will help you feel better and lose weight. Plenty of BLC members have invented tricks to ease you through the transition. "I use a straw when I drink water," says one. The straw helps him drink more. Another member suggests drinking ice-cold water. "It just tastes better that way. I also have a rule that I cannot drink anything else until I have my water in." Still another says, "I make myself drink 8 ounces of water before I take a drink of Mountain Dew." Well, like we say, every step counts. Keep yourself motivated--and let you'll let go of that Mountain Dew soon too.

Check out TOPS if you can't find a lap band group. http://www.tops.org/ -
Congratulations on your banding. Your weight will fuctuate but if you are eating way more then you should or unhealthy food right now, you are going to slow down your progress. Try counting calories so you can see what you are taking in. Try drinking a shake for breakfast, get your 8 cups of water in, no caloric drinks, eat a salad with you lunch and dinner, make healthier food choices. The smaller 4 to 6 meals a day maybe helpful. If you are not exercising yet, start walking 15 minutes a day or twice a day. Maybe a support group like OA or TOPS. Hopefully your first fill will give you some restriction. Good Luck

A bag of chocolate chips weigh 1 pound. I gues it should not be a food item, hummmmmm. At tops we use butter as mariecarmen said. 1 stick of butter is a quarter of a pound and 4 is a pound.

There are always other lies out there but do you really want to know. You can tell him how you feel so he can continue to keep them from you or you can be a part of it. Tell him to give you the money he was spending on the shows and you give him a show. He is a man, that should last what, 5 to 10 minutes. LOL Hopefully you guys have a open relationship where you guys can talk, so just try to talk to him and let him know how it makes you feel.
