I just have to say thank you guys for coming out. I thoroughly enjoyed our meetings as I always do. We got our measurements taken and had wonderful conversation. We set goals and discussed how to achieve them. It was wonderful to see Requel again. Everyone has lost weight and looks just great.

Excuses are tools of the incompetent, building bridges to no where and monuments of nothing and those who use them seldomly amount to anything. Therefore I will not give anyone excuses.

Doctor visit at UT Medical
Teresita commented on sheilamj1fan's blog entry in sheilamj1fan's Journal
Yeah those before and after pics are reall motivators. I hope you hear the good news from your doctors office soon on your approval. Until then "Live Like You Are Banded". -
I thought obesity was considered a disability in itself. Oh well thank God for your family. Just remember the band is not going to fix all your problems by itself. It is a tool and you have to work with it. Being self pay, how are you going to pay for the fills? Find a doctor near you that does fills before you get that band. You don't want a band and then can't afford to go get the fills. Find support groups, because you will still need to exercise and eat right. The motivation from support groups are great.

WOW Avilla go with it, you may have to go to semi mushies. I can do fluids in the morning and I will try a little something for luch and I may still be too tight then so I will eat something like oatmeal or trail mix. Then dinner I'll have some salad, jello, pudding or ground turkey. Drink lots of water and you will see that scale drop.

10 pound challenge!!
Teresita commented on thickchickTEXAS's blog entry in thickchickTEXAS's Journal
Good Luck it sounds like a plan. Soooo what did you do the weekend? How did it go? -
Excuse me, I don't think so lazy, sloth, oh yeah those are words of inspiration and encouragement.... What is your goal? We both have 14 pounds to get to a major goal. I have 14 to go to get to 100 pounds gone and you have 14 to lose to be at your half way mark. Did you see that? 14pounds away from being half way there, that means you are at the summit of the mountain and you are getting ready to go down the hill to reach your goal. You have come to far to be looking backwards. You know how to lose this weight...where is your protein shake for breakfast, where are the handweights that you can be lifting in bed, watching tv, maybe at a sit down job on the phone. Come on, you have lost 63 pounds WTheck you go girl HALFWAY!!!! Mini goal, this is not the time to be messing around. Get up and run in place, when you go to the bathroom run in place, where is your water? Did you drink 64 oz.

What do I want? To Lose Weight! What do I want? Food! What do I want? Sugar Free, Sugar Free, Sugar Free Yeahhhhhhhhh NOT Did I tell any of you that I am an emotional eater. Yep well I had some emotions going last night. So I found myself sitting on the kitchen floor and looking into the fridge. TMI Well I decided I would just cook, you know when you really can't eat so you just cook. I forgot the ribs were in there so I slowly at one of those all the way to the last bite and that one piece would not go in. So while trying to suck down this rib, I baked a cake and boiled and broiled italian sausage. I have a sausage, I have a sausage that I can eat right now. I have to wait until later. Suck eggs man.

Oh wow the workshop was greattttttttt. The food was good, the room was warm and there was a speaker. Close your eyes and go to sleep. LOL No I know believe that I am bi polar but it is ok. The suicide rate is up during the holidays which we all know but one phone call or visit to someone can make a diffrence. People feel alone during the holidays, even when there are lots of people around and events to go to. Take the time to call some today and tell them you were thinking about them, tell them you love them. Ask them what is going on in their world. You just don't know how much diffrence it can make. Hey one of the affirmations I came away with is "THIS IS MY TIME ON EARTH!!!!" Nothing truer has been said. Losing weight and building confidence, I want to go out there and ENJOY my time. "Live the Life You Deserve" we often feel so unworthy but we are worth it so go and get it. Come on guys we have to lift each other up because we can't always lift up ourselves. I'm here I got you.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=96366366 R&B crooner Gerald Levert dies at 40 By NEKESA MUMBI MOODY, AP Music WriterSat Nov 11, 1:36 AM ET Gerald Levert, the fiery singer of passionate R&B love songs and the son of O'Jays singer Eddie Levert, died Friday. He was 40. His label, Atlantic Records, confirmed that Levert died at his home in Cleveland, Ohio. "All of us at Atlantic are shocked and deeply saddened by his untimely death. He was one of the greatest voices of our time, who sang with unmatched soulfulness and power, as well as a tremendously gifted composer and an accomplished producer," the label said in a statement. Dan Bomeli, public relations manager at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in suburban Cleveland, said Levert had been brought to the hospital. Bomeli said Levert had died but he had no further details. Levert's family released a statement asking for privacy. "As everybody knows, Gerald was a man who loved and breathed music. To his family and friends he was a man of strong character, who had an infectious personality and a zest for life. For his fans, his greatest love was touching the hearts and souls of all people through his music. At this very difficult time, we thank you for your prayers and hope you will understand our need for privacy," the statement read. Patti LaBelle, who had worked and recorded with Levert, said he "was like a son" to her. "He was such a great entertainer. It's not for real to me that he is gone ... Nobody was prepared for this." LaBelle added that she hopes to sing at Levert's funeral. "It's very sad. He was an amazing talent, obviously," friend and fellow R&B singer Will Downing said. "Gerald was a hard worker. He would go out there and do his thing, and be in places where the folks were. He would touch the people, and that's really what it's all about." Over his two-decade music career, Levert sold millions of albums and had numerous R&B hits. Levert first gained fame in 1986 as a member of the R&B trio LeVert, which also included his brother, Sean, and childhood friend Marc Gordon. They quickly racked up hits like "(Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop) Goes My Mind," "Casanova," and "Baby I'm Ready." But Gerald Levert's voice — powerful and soulful, almost a carbon copy of his father's — was always the focal point, and in 1991, he made his solo debut with the album "Private Line," which included a hit duet with his dad, "Baby Hold on to Me." His father also recorded the successful album "Father & Son." Levert was known for his sensual, romantic songs, but unlike Luther Vandross, whose voice and songs were more genteel, Levert's music was explosive and raw — his 2002 album was titled "The G Spot." "When we would do shows together, we would get on stage and battle for the hearts of women. Every night, that was our thing," Downing said. Though Levert was successful as a solo singer, in 1997 he got into group mode again — joining with R&B singers Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat for the supergroup of LSG. The self-titled album sold more than two million copies, and their hits included the sensual "My Body." Levert also worked with other artists as a songwriter and producer. His most recent album was 2005's "Voices." Levert had four children. ___
