  1. Thanks for the compliment, I often don't feel like I have done well (especially if I compare myself to Brandy:biggrin:, she is such an overachiever, LOL!) but then I realize I am almost halfway to my goal. And my fill doc says I am doing fine. So I guess I need to shush those negative voices in my head! You can do it! Just follow the band rules and don't be a slacker like me! Brandy- it sounds like so far so good. I hope everything turns out ok. Let us all know if you need anything! Where oh where is our Dee??????
  2. Mini- I had it December 5th of last year.
  3. Lap-what raspberry protein stuff do you use? I have been looking for something to mix into Crystal Light (although I didn't do so well with the protein thing before, I need to try it again now that I am getting better restriction...) Well ladies, definantly time for a fill for me. I ate waaaaay too much tonight! Thankfully I have an appointment scheduled for Monday. Where is our Brandy? I hope she is ok!!
  4. Brandy-I hope everything is ok!! My fingers and toes are crossed again!
  5. Oompa loompas were creepy, and bad dressers to boot!! Shelbi-I love that Barkley talks to you! I was very fearful when I took Bailey to the vet when he seized that he would think I was abandoning him. I have had him since he was a pup, so he doesn't have any reason to think I would abandon him, but still...I will probably freak if I ever have to leave Jake or Brutus at the vet because they will think I am abandoning them! Lord only knows they think I am abandoning them everytime I go to work. I don't know which one is more pathetic with their big, sad, droopy eyes! I explain to them every night that I have to work so I can buy all their dog food, toys, flea and heartworm medication, and Beggin Strips, but sigh...they don't care!
  6. At least you don't look like an Oompa Loompa. They had really bad hair.
  7. I love dorky science lessons and found that to be very interesting thank you!
  8. Mini-I think it was Violet that blew up in Willie Wonka. My niece loves Willie Wonka. There is a line in it that says "Shnozberries taste like shnozberries!" I have no idea why but she loves that line and calls me her Aunt Shnozberry now. Goofy little kid!
  9. I wish I had done that, I don't even have any good before pictures!

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

LOL! Great idea about the forum!! Might I just point out that I agree with what a previous poster said about OH...while I do go there and read posts, I feel it is much more negative than LBT. I also feel there is a lot of juvenile shit that goes on there and that I have stepped back in time to high school. Seriously, these people get all up in arms about each other on the rants and raves boards there. Come on people...this is the INTERNET for crying out loud. Surely you must have something better to do than dog people you don't even know in "real life"? Can you not find ANYTHING better to do with your time? Sorry, had to get that off my chest!

    People are just MISERABLE.

This is true about the masturbation thing...my first job was in a video store, and we had a guy that would always stand behind the big cardboard movie things and masturbate. YUCK!!!!
  12. Ok, so my long winded post overlapped with Brandys. Brandy, I am glad to see you are at least ok (well, so to speak). I hope your PCP can figure out what the deal is. When do you see your PCP? Shelbi-so what do you think of spinning classes other than your arse hurting? My husband (who is a cyclist) tells me that goes away as you get used to it. I have looked into joining the Golds Gym here because they have spinning classes. I have a brand new spinning bike in my basement that I have never used! I hear it is way more fun to do it in a group spinning class though! I already have cycling shoes and shorts, so I am ready to go! (The hazards of being married to a cyclist...)
  13. Mal & Mini-love the new puppy pics. They are precious!! Mal, I didn't tell you about this one nurse we have working with us. First, we all can't stand her because she calls in all the time and just generally doesn't use common sense when she works, in addition to always whining about having too big of a load....well, my opinion of her was firmly cemented after she got a beagle puppy from somebody, then took it to the kill shelter after only having it for about 6 months...because it BARKED. You idiot, that's what beagles do!! My nursing supervisor and I overheard her talking about it, so we looked on the shelter website, and there was the little guy. I tell you, we were furious. Thankfully, someone else adopted him or I probably would have had to go spring him (and I have no room for anymore dogs!) Jillypoo-I have a 150 pound mastiff that is a bigger lap dog than any of my labs are!! He is never happier than when he is laying with his big old head right on my chest! He always has to be laying on me or at least laying next to me and touching me. He is soooo sweet...I am so glad I adopted him. I need to download my pics from my camera so I can show you gals a pic of him. I finally got him to look at the camera for me! Mini-my dogs thought I was crazy because I was laughing so loud at the "Munchkin and Hutch" thing!! (I had a really good visual going on!) Yes, sometimes we do need to have a good nurse/bad nurse routine, especially when someone is being noncompliant and acting up. My, ahem, strong personality also helps when doctors are being complete asses sometimes...I am of the belief that nurses don't need to take doctors treating them like they are dog poo on the bottoms of their shoes...and I won't take it from them, and I also won't tolerate them treating the other nurses like that when I am in charge. So I guess if that makes me "bad nurse", so be it! Because, by God, my patients are taken care of!:tt1: I wondered if Brandy maybe had a bowel obstruction and was put in the hospital also? I hope not for her sake. Those NG tubes are miserable!
  14. Mini- It's great that you are going to be in charge of our "bat list" for phone numbers! Dang it, I wish we knew something about Miss Brandy!!
  15. Yeah, that's why I always get appointed to be the official "meanie" when somebody needs to be. (Well, when my coworker Amber isn't there anyway...LOL, she is worse than me!!)
  16. Hey, that's Tami from Alabama from OH! She rocks!! She is really inspirational, isn't she? I could really relate to Ashley Turnipseed. That could have been me talking, especially the part about thinking once she became a nurse she would be getting lots of exercise but ended up gaining more weight. That's me in a nutshell!
  17. Ok gals, I am seriously getting worried about Brandy!!!!!
  18. Dee-just got caught up on posts, and I totally second everything Mini has said....I don't want to get going on one of my anti-men rants but Mini is right, he is an imbecile for not wanting you! And we DO LOVE YOU!! As for my goal, I guess I will make it a whopping 12 pounds?? (Don't sound so sure of myself do I?) All though at the rate I am going with my TOM this time, I am going to gain another 12 pounds BACK. Man, I haven't fallen off the wagon this bad since I have been banded!! I don't know what my problem is, but I need a swift kick in the pants and a teeny tiny fill to tweak my band. (I have an appointment for Monday). On an off note, my fill doctor left the practice he was in and went out on his own, and is only charging $65 for the fill & office visit as opposed to the $335 he used to charge, so I was pretty stoked to hear that! I just wish he had done that about 4 fills ago so I could have saved about $1000. Jillypoo-your Corgi is adorable! My parents have one that was my sisters while she was in high school. His name is Gunther, and he is one of the most adorable dogs I have ever seen. He is fat and roly poly, and always has a huge doggy grin on his face!! When he was little, I was always so afraid I was going to step on him and kill him because all I'm used to are big dogs! Lifesaver-Your sister who is a cop is the same age as my sister. Right now my sister is a Sargeant in the Marine Corps, but she has been taking online criminal justice classes for the last few years. Before I became a nurse I majored in criminal justice and wanted to be a cop also. It's probably good I didn't become one, I don't think my mom could handle both her daughters being cops, she would worry herself to death! Although my personality is probably better suited to being a cop!
  19. Mini-if you are ever in my neck of the woods I have two cases of the Isopure fruit drinks (I can't drink protein drinks, they make me nauseated). Don't know what shipping would cost but you are welcome to them!
  20. Brandy!!!! Where are you????? Are you ok????????
  21. Mini-that is soooo cool! Wow, what a lot of work! I bet you lost 10 pounds just lugging those blocks around! Mal-I won't tell that your Harley guy was a hottie! (Wink, wink!) Brandy-update us soon, we are all worried about you!! Not sure when your appt with Dr.K was/is!!!
  22. Brandy, In my nursey opinion, (for what little it's worth  ) you could definantly be constipated if you haven't gone for that long! Maybe try a Colace or some Miralax? (I personally think Miralax is a wonder drug, it doesn't have all the cramping side effects of some of the others). And yes, you are probably right on the money about the pain medicaton. At any rate, I second what everyone else said...Dr.K is great and he will figure out what is going on. Shebi-l am glad I am not the only one who pictures Mini as British! Seriously, I did! Especially after she told me she drives a Mini Cooper!!
  23. Green-I had the same situation with my little 91 year old grandmother...she made the comment "Well, you can finally start to tell you are losing a little weight". I know she didn't mean it to be hurtful, but it was a little bit. This was after I had lost 40 pounds. I have gone from a size 20/22 to a 14/16. All I can think is surely it must be noticable, right? And yes, the whole 5 pound comment from your dad would have gotten me too! Bahot-the waterskiing thing sounds so fun!! I have always been to scared to waterski, kudos to you! Mal-are you going to be one of those burly Harley chicks now? Just kidding! Take pics next time for us! Man, I miss Dee and Mini!! When are they coming back???
  24. Brandy, I will pray, cross my fingers (and my toes), whatever it takes for you to be ok! Hopefully you are just a little irritated in your gut from all the retching the other night, and nothing is actually wrong with your band. Keep us posted! BIG HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Brandy and Adorkable-my goodness, what are we going to do with you two gals? You poor things! I am sorry you both had rough nights. Brandy, I have seen kidney stones bring a tough fireman to his knees crying like a baby, so I can only imagine. Adorkable, I have had my gallbladder out, and the first attack I had was the worst pain of my life. And NOTHING would help it. So I do know how you feel. Good luck with your ultrasound. My gallbladder pain was so atypical that I did not even think it was my gallbladder and neither did my doc, so you never know! Keep us updated! Mal-You take care of yourself too!! Maybe it was "sympathy" pain for Buster? Probably not, but I thought it was worth a try! Shelbi-It looks like I may not make it to NC now, because with any luck at all, my sister is going to get hired at the police department in the next city over and she will be getting out of the Marine Corps! She came home and tested about a month ago, and they called and wanted her high school transcripts. She called Thursday to make sure they got them, and they told her she had one of the highest scores on the written test that they had ever seen. They talked to her for about 30 minutes and told her when the rest of the interview dates will be and when the academy will be. So, I am pretty much assuming if they told her all of that she will probably get the job! While I will be worried about her being a cop, I know she can handle herself, and it is better than her getting deployed to Iraq. And my nieces will be here all the time then! How fun!! (My four year old niece is a spitting image of me at that age, with a personality to match according to my mother!) At any rate, the academy will be in September, and I know I will not make it to NC before then...soooo...time will tell. Keep your fingers crossed for her! Dee-I have decided I want to try to lose 10 pounds by the barbeque (although at the rate I am going it probably will not happen)! I weighed myself this morning and have lost....a big whopping nothing!! But, I honestly expected that because I am PMS'g and have not been eating the best for the last few weeks. As long as I am not gaining I am good with it! Maybe I should try the 5 day pouch diet?? Hope you are having fun in Vegas!!
