Ok, let me preface this post by making the disclaimer that I am a terrible cook. However, in hopes of being able to actually cook something remotely healthy, I bought a Crockpot today. Does anyone have any good, healthy, band friendly, and easy Crockpot recipes? Thanks!

I tried to change my profile pic so my "real" face would be on here but it isn't working for some reason! It says it is my pic, but it doesn't show up when I post. Hmmmm... Anyway, it is wonderful to hear from you Deb. I missed that cute little pup of yours. Speaking of pups, I almost took home a beagle puppy the other day. He was marked down because he had a small umbilical hernia, and he was so sweet. His last brother had just been sold and he was loving me up, and cried and cried when I walked away. I am SUCH a sucker...I have all big dogs! I told him he would get trampled, or at the very least have his ears walked on on a regular basis! It's confirmed...I AM the crazy dog lady, and all the dogs in the area know it! I have been restraining myself all day from going to see if he is still there. And Mini, yes we do need to get me back on track. I had to buy smaller shorts today, so it's not all horrible, I just need to eat better!!

The other thing I wanted to ask is if anyone has had any issues with vitamin deficiencies. I have been super tired, irritable, and having migraine headaches (which I have never had) recently. I got my eyes checked and they are ok. I was reading about vitamin B12 and vitamin D deficiency and they have both been linked to migraines. Anyone have any input?

Hey everyone, long time, no see! I know I have been MIA, but I need to get on here more often because I miss you gals and your support. Plus, without you to be accountable to, I am not being very good! I had several problems with my band being too tight this spring and having to be emergently unfilled, culminating in getting 1.2 cc's removed. I have managed to maintain my weight for several months despite the large unfill. But I recently gained a few pounds back. So, I am going next week for a fill and will hopefully get back on track. I am determined to log on to here for my "support group" buddies also. And I signed up to go to a local lap band support group. Dee-I am enraged about your airline experience. Grrrrr......good thing I wasn't there, there would have been some munchkin justice! Ok, so you would have had to bail me out of jail, but still! I wish so much I could take 12 days off work to go with you to Mexico, because I would in a heartbeat, I owe you! But working the weekend program, I can't take that time off. :smile2: How is everyone else? I have talked to Dee,Mini,and Jaime, but how about Lapdancer, Mal, and the rest of the gang? I cannot possibly catch up on all that I have missed, but I sure have missed you gals!! Hugs!

I just wanted to let anyone in the Quad Cities know not to use Trinity Bariatric Center if you are considering being banded. While the surgeons are excellent, they are independent of the Bariatric Center itself, which is run by Trinity Medical Center, which is a hospital owned by Iowa Health Systems. The Bariatric Center program is a train wreck-totally disorganized. If you are considering having bariatric surgery in the Quad Cities, I highly recommend that you utilize Genesis Bariatric Center in Davenport, Iowa. If you look at my other posts about my experiences with the Trinity Bariatric Center, you will understand why. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me. And no, I am not an employee of Genesis, I am actually an employee of Trinity!! All I ask is that you check out both programs and make wise, informed choices regarding who you utilize.

Jaime....Look at it this way-if he numbed your port he would be doing it with a lidocaine injection, so you would get poked with a needle twice...and I personally think lidocaine itself hurts going in before it numbs you. Hi everyone!! I know I have been MIA for the last few weeks! I was in North Carolina and then came down with a horrible cold the day I flew back. It has taken over a week to go away. I had a great time in NC and at the Marine Corp Ball-I will post pics when I download them off my camera-I felt so bad all week I didn't even want to do that!:grouphug: I just wanted to say hi to everyone! Mini-I'm bored too. Getting antsy about leaving to see my sister. Well all, I am writing comedian guy off-he is too cynical and sarcastic (and a little bitter). I figure I have had enough of that from the ex to last me a lifetime. And life is too short!!! But....Starbucks guy has turned out to be really sweet. I kept kind of dismissing him because of comedian guy...and I shouldn't have. This weekend he made me homemade soup one night and a delicious homemade zucchini/squash casserole and brought them to me to take to work for dinner when I stopped to get my iced tea before dinner. I thought that was pretty darn sweet and thoughtful...especially when I hadn't even gone out on a date with him yet. So I called him Monday to see if he wanted to do something. We went out for a few hours and I had a really good time!! And he liked my dogs!! Yippee! And better yet, my special needs dog Jake LOVED him...which tells me alot. And I mean he really loved him- was acting all spastic and goofy, which he never does, especially when there is someone he doesn't know around. So basically Bob and I have decided I need at least three criteria to be met before dating someone: 1. Do they like Dave Matthews? (Comedian guy doesn't....it's blasphemous) 2. Does Jake like them? (Other than my ex he seems to have a pretty good nose for people) 3. And I am so tired I can't remember the third one...so it must not have been that important (as if Dave Matthews is, LOL)! I cannot wait to see my sis-I am totally psyched. Although a bit angsty about leaving the pups for so long. But I know they will be in good hands with Bob. :thumbup:

Mini- So despite the crazy mother, I have decided to go to NC anyway...however, my sister and I have devised several plans to drive her crazy in return. And they are good....I can't wait. I am going to the Ball still also, so I get to dress like a princess again. Yay! And maybe, if I am REALLY lucky, I will be able to steal my sisters car for the day and go meet Jaime, because that would be the absolute BOMB!!!
