I'm 7 weeks out of surgery and doing great. I hope you all are as well. I'm certainly not going crazy trying to keep up with others - I'm just enjoying the ride. 43lb down since June 5th (when I started Opti) and 26lb down since June 26th (surgery date).

Meeting daily fluid requirements

I had surgery on Thursday and I haven't had any issues with liquids. I'm having around 3 optifast a day and a ton of water. No problem. I thought I was the only one. -

How soon after surgery did you get the OK to drink protein shakes/optifast? I was sleeved on Thursday and my doc said I could go ahead with the shakes.

I'm on antibiotics for H. pylori and my surgery is this Thursday. They made me incredibly sick until my doctor allowed me to take them with yogurt. I haven't had any issues since. Thank god -
Thanks for the replies!

My surgery is on Tuesday. I've been on my pre-op diet since June 5th. I've already lost 17lb. I was starting at 240 I'm now 223 (I'm 5'7"). I'm excited to get this done so that my back and knees will stop hurting!

I am scheduled to have the sleeve procedure done on 6/24 and I just received a call from my surgeon's office. They told me that my biopsy showed that I have Helicobacter pylori Infection. I have to take antibiotics for 2 weeks. Anyone else experience this?

I'm scheduled to have surgery 6/24. I have a BMI of 37 and I was wondering if anyone else had a similar starting point? I had a bunch of comorbidites so my insurance company approved with ease. I was wondering how much weight people with similar starting BMIs have lost. Thank you!

I'm 6 months post-op tomorrow, and my little guy turns one of the 13th. We're still going strong re: nursing (3-4 times daily, and additional sessions on demand), and have no plans to wean anytime soon. Best of luck! I'm so happy I found this thread. My daughter is almost 11 months and still nursing. I started my liquid diet today and I'm so nervous that this will impact my daughter. I've read things about toxins being released in the milk while on a liquid diet. Does anyone know anything about that? My doctor told me that as long as I'm producing I should be fine nursing my daughter. I'm a little concerned. She eats a ton of food and usually has 2 bottles of pumped milk during the day along with nursing at night and in the morning. I'm so glad I'm not alone here!
