July 28 - wasn't so bad!
carolk36 replied to laurie_k's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Glad to hear you are doing so well!! I hope when I have my surgery in a couple of weeks I do as well. Take care, Carol -
I'm looking forward to finding a bra that fits!! I'm fairly small chested (B cup) but big around (44) so finding a bra in this size is so hard and when I do find one, the fit is just miserable. I want my diameter to match my cup size so I'm looking forward being a 36, or maybe even a 34 B! Yea!

Me, me, me!! I'm schedule for Sept 2nd! I'm so excited! I was nevous for other appts but now I'm pretty calm, just marking every day off the calendar. I'm sure as it gets close, I will be out of my mind with nervousness. I'm happy that there are several of us going though this together. I wish you all the very best of luck! We need to stay in touch! Carol

Info Session tonight...finally getting started!
carolk36 replied to Gotchaby1's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
How exciting!! I'm scheduled for surgery on Sept 2nd and honestly, the process of getting approved wasn't too bad at all. I made my first appt to with my primary doctor mid May and he was the slowest to get things rolling. Once he sent my medical records over to the surgeon, things moved right along. Good luck! I hope things go smoothly for you! Carol -
is my sugery date!! I am so happy to finally get this date! Can I get a high-five?! Carol

Check out Isopure Zero Carb Protein drink. It's not a milky power, it's clear and thin and comes in a ton of flavors. You can drink it straight, with Water, tea, crystal light or whatever you choose. It's pure whey protein isolate so it's absorbed much better than whey concentrate. You can sip on this between meals. Check out their website and GNC and Amazon sells it. Good luck! Carol

First day on pre op diet.

You may also have to experiment to find one you like better. I tried several and was only able to drink unjury. Lot's of people here like Premiere but they made me gag.Try mixing them with other things besides Water too, and as Peggy Jean mentioned, add flavorings to help hide the whey taste. Oh, also, I can't tolerate the smell of any of them so I only drink them from a cup with a lid. That made a HUGE difference for me! Good luck! Carol -
I'm officially overweight - woo hoo

Awesome!! Congratulations! -
I'm sorry. I can see where that would be frustrating. I hope others with more experience will be able to help you find a solution. Maybe some of it's head-hunger? I'm sure you've already thought about that. Hang in there and come vent when you need to.

Maybe give your NUT a call and let him/her help evaluate what/how much you are eating. I have a friend a month out and she was told she needed to eat more so that might be your case but it's best to let the experts help you. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Best of luck to you! Carol

Hi Jenn! I'm in the beginning of the process too! I've completed my psych eval and the NUT visits and I go see the surgeon for the second time on Aug 13. I have my fingers crossed that I will get a surgery date then and that it will be sometime in August. This is a great site! There is so much support and information here. I'm so happy you reached out. I'd like to add you to my friend's list if that's okay! Best of luck, Carol

I go Friday to get my date from the surgeon for gastric bypass - I've completed all requirements as of this afternoon. At my OB appointment this morning, the doctor and I were talking, and the nurse in the room with me tells me she had bypass 3 years ago, and although she looked healthy and slim, she says to me, "It's not what it's cracked up to be, I've not had a day since I had the surgery that I actually felt good." Wow. It floored me that she said that. Please, those of you who have had the surgery for a while, please reassure me. I'm doing this surgery because most days I don't feel good now. I want to feel good and healthy and energetic. Do you? Thanks so much for your thoughts. Carol

What kind of pretein are you using. It seems that lots of folks have an issue with finding one or two they can tolerate. Glad you are feeling better! Carol
