Hello, I was banded two days ago, the pain is manageable but I am having this weird uncomfortable feeling in my throat and diaphram. It is alot of pressure, maybe my vitamins didn't go down but I took them 11 hours ago. I am also starving on this liquid diet!:help:

Mamasahn, I hope I spelled that right! Thanks for the input. I love the suggestion of waiting two years to see what happens. I don't have any insurance converage. It's really weird I have always had poor ins. with coverage and now I have great ins. without coverage, so be it, there is a lesson in every experience. I guess mine is that I am worth it. Also, thanks for the info on the pannis question. I think I have had yeast there :omg:, how do you deal with that? K

FaithMD, You sound like a wise woman/man? I am going to take your advice! Yea, one step at a time, why borrow trouble I owe you a hug! Yes, most of my weight is from pregnancy so I will have excess stomache skin for sure. Are you a doctor? Have you read any of my other threads or posts? I am pretty new and so excited to find this land of beautiful people, that alone makes my decision worthwhile. Hi everyone, thanks for all of the wonderful feedback. I am now starting to worry about tummy tucks, liposuction, breast lifts, etc. Somehow I thought the band would do the trick and now I am reading all of the stories of extra skin, cellulite, etc. WHAT, DOES IT NEVER END? Isn't there a way to exercise or something to shrink the skin while you lose? A MONS lift! until now I had no idea that such a thing existed! I will just be glad to see my body again. By the way, does anyone have any suggestions for how to keep the skin under your stomache from becoming red, rashing, split, painful? Let me know, I NEED ya guys! K :ranger:

Hello friends, I am still awaiting my psych appt., nutrition, consult with doc, and hope to be banded mid November. OK, I have a totally new fear I am hoping someone can help me with. My insurance does not cover this operation or any complications that may arise. That is scary enough but then... I heard someone say that they had lost 100 pounds and had to pay an enormous fortune in plastic surgery to fix all of the loose skin! I don't have an enormous fortune, In fact I am taking out a loan for surgery! Does anyone know anything about this? K

Hello all, I want to thank everyone on this site, I have been reading so much of the entries that I feel I have my own personal support group! What a great bunch of people fat people are! I haven't heard much about how being fat has affected people's personal/married life. Mine has been terrible. I gained 70 pounds with pregnancy and have kept that and more. I now have severe fibromyalgia, PCOS, chronic fatigue, insulin sensitivity, GERD, chronic pain, one back surgery, depression, isolation, etc. I have a superb husband but our intimacy is all but non existent. He would never say it was due to my size but he and I have known each other all of our lives and I was ALWAYS thin until pregnancy and all the health related issues. My daughter only gets to play with mom in bed as I cannot get on floor or sit for lengths of time. My BMI is 37-38 and I am 5'5". I have isolated for 7 years now. I have lost my 30's as I delivered at 31yo and now I am turning 38!~ I do not wear anything but Moo-Moo's out. And I refuse to go anywhere where I may run into anyone from the past, as I was skinny, or any of my husbands friends or aqqaintances. I am tired of being asked if I am pregnant. I have had that happen sooo many times that I am now down right rude and say quietly "no, I am not pregnant" and then shout "I am just FAT". Boy does that do a number on people! this site is great but I am not finding where the emotional pain or everyone is listed so we can support one another?:think Anyway, thanks for being there friends! Yo are not alone! I am waiting to be banded in November here in washington. I feel all the things you feel. I am scared, excited, and many other feelings. I worry about the cost because my ins. won't pay, I worry about slippage, erosion, you name it, but, I worry more about not being able to play with my daughter, being in chronic pain the rest of my life, sleeping all of the time, and wearing moo-moo's out to dinner with my husband, who we are not intimate anymore. He is a normy and I am sure I turn him off. It is sad. we really love each other adn maybe it's my fear of rejection? who knows? but I am more scared to spend my life this way than all fears about band combined, soooo, hang in there my friend and I will keep you in my thoughts. K

This forum is great! I thank both people who replied. It was encouraging to hear that the 17500. was for one year of follow ups. I just think, oh my goodness, what will it cost if I slip or erode? I guess this is all negative. I am going to the NW weight loss surgery center in Kirkland, WA with doctor Michaelson? I would love to keep in touch with new bandies and go through the process together! Thanks. K

Hello all, I am brand new tonight! I have finally committed to the lap band and will begin my consults in October and be banded the first part of November. I am discouraged as I feel as if I have the only insurance that does not cover any weight related care as if it is cosmetic and not life saving! I also seem to have a lower BMI than most. I am 38 with many, many co-morbitities! 17,000. for the surgery and I don't know what aftercare and fills costs? any help would be appreciated. I am also afraid to die!:rose: am I alone? Thanks your help is invaluable. K
