Yep, just go with it and enjoy the additional weight loss. Stress has helped me to maintain my loss for 3 years now. At least it has some benefits!
-
Absolutely. Stress makes me feel like I just had a fill. So just go back to the basics with liquids and soft foods so you are not over doing it.

I used to consider myself a night owl, going to bed around 1 or 2 am and sleeping for maybe 4.5 hours. But now, I CANNOT wait to get to bed by 10:30, and that's stretching it. I can barely keep my eyes open! I am almost 4 years out with a lap band and am at goal. I take a Multivitamin and B12 daily (mostly) but probably don't get enough Protein. Anyone else dragging?
-
Have you weighed yourself? Don't guess...that's how it sneaks up on you! I too was banded in Feb. 2011 and had one un-fill. I'm still tight, but I can't imagine NOT being tight.

Help please-to fill or unfill: that is the question
Dolores33778 replied to Drband14's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
@@catfish87 I was going to say the same. I don't think your body can absorb that much at one time. Check with your dr. and see if that is recommended. -
Help please-to fill or unfill: that is the question

The tightness comes and goes with me too, and I love it. I haven't had a fill in over 2 years and I'm happy to still have restriction. Watch those carbs! -

I too cannot eat breakfast, so although it's not ideal, breakfast does not work for me. My doctor says this is normal. I would try to stick to more Protein and back away from the vegetables and definitely the carbs. You should be getting about 60g of protein a day. Where are you with that? Do you track it somehow? I use the My FItness Pal app on my iphone and that helped me a lot. Perfect to see what your day consists of and to see where you need to improve. Happy to help and congrats to you both. -
There is a tab under the PATIENTS tab.

Your weight loss is not slow. It took me 1 year to lose 60 lbs. Then lost another 50 the following year. You're on your way! -
Glad you have the appointment. I'm in the chat room if you want to chat. i'm afraid Alex will take it away again if we don't use it.
-
From what I understand, if your band slipped, it is pretty painful. if you are not in any pain and still have restriction, you should be ok.
-
If you don't feel the restriction, go back and get another fill. If your Doctor allows, keep going back every few weeks or so until you start to feel it. This restriction should be immediate. My doctor would make me drink 8 oz of Water before I leave his office to make sure I was not too tight. I felt it immediately, but was sure it went down within 30 mins. I love that feeling~ -dt

No fill and still very uncomfortable.
Dolores33778 replied to Lorelei's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi @@Lorelei, why did you have your liquid taken out? The restriction varies depending on many factors such as weather, time of the month, stress, sometime even elevation (like flying). I'm 4.5 years out and haven't had a fill in over 2 years and still have good restriction that changes to really tight at times. I have other banded friends that experience the same thing, so this can change for many reasons. Are you keeping up your Protein levels daily? -

Listen to your doctor. A few weeks will not make that much of a difference. He is just concerned about your comfort level. Just remember that food is not your focus on the cruise...enjoy the location and the time away. -dt -

Hi @@Drband14, I don't know if I can be much help, but I can try. What are you eating for your meals? Are you able to get on the chat room here? That might be easier to communicate. If not, we can reply within your message. -dt -
If anyone wants to chat, I'll be hanging out in the chatroom room most days. The chat room is listed under the PATIENTS tab up above. Banded over 4 years and lovin' it! -dt

Ha..What a cute idea! I guess I never thought of it that way! Thanks.

Celebrations centered around food. Always. "You got a new job, let's go to dinner and celebrate" "It's your birthday, let's order a cake and celebrate" "Graduating from anywhere, let's over do it with food and celebrate" "Any holiday ever...food, food and more food!" Why, does everything have to be centered around food? Why can't we Celebrate with a painting class or roller skating or a trial membership to a zumba class for everyone! It's sickening to me that our entire focus for living is so food-centric. I know it's not just us, it's everywhere and it's not going to change, but I can change me. You want to celebrate one of my accomplishments? Let's repaint my living room together. Let's get our nails done then binge watch Breaking Bad! I eat to live, not live to eat. (drops the mic) -dt

@@kholliday2010 how are you two doing? -
Glad to hear you are going back again. Keep up with the follow ups and you will get to that level where you feel good restriction. Be sure to give it some time to kick in. I never really experienced that myself, but i do read that it does take some time for others to feel the full effect so don't get discouraged if it is not instant. Be sure to follow the rules right after your fill and take it slow. You are not alone. None of my friends understand either. Even my husband doesn't get it. Keep checking in with us, even if it's just to vent and nothing to do with WLS. Good luck with the move and don't forget to drink Water all day long.

I'm awake and don't want to be. I have to be up in 6 hours, but I just can't go to sleep before 1 am and can't sleep late anymore. I tried again this weekend, but I woke up around 7 ish and couldn't go back to sleep. And forget about napping! I can't lie down at all with any food or drink in my tummy. Anyone else's sleep patterns change after surgery?

What will you be adding to your diet? -
Sometimes I feel like I'm crossing a fine line between showing off and being proud. Between bragging and inspiring others. I was hesitant to post this, still not used to the comments but I'm trying to get passed all that. I am proud of where I am and am happy to help others in any way I can.
