My husband was cleaning the rugs in his TRUCK and pouring out the Water (that he sucked up) into the toilet. I wandered in to the bathroom and saw the toilet - I thought - I don't remember going to the bathroom. Then I realized it was HIS. I kinda chuckled to myself that it was my first reaction when I saw that nasty mess.

    What's up June Bansters?

Man, I want food so bad. I'd like to write something stunningly witty, or interesting, but all I can think of is food. I just bought Subway for the family so I didn't have to cook. I was so hungry - I took a sour cream and onion potatoe chip and *LICKED IT*, then threw it away.

You've lost 33 pounds and didn't have to do this liquid diet thing. OK - I'm totally jealous!

But, what is the consistency of the BM when you are on liquids and protein - mine is just black/Green and slimy - is that a normal response to this - or odd - anyone know?
  5. My doctor ordered all these meds he wants me to take - polysacharride Iron - and Osteo Enhance - they come in huge capsules - I am only 8 days post op - and today is my birthday - I don't want to throw up. Can you take these pills? does the capsule dissolve. They came from a place that gives Vitamins specifically for people like me - and the doctor recommends this place to get your vitamins from - what do I do?

Indelicate questions. OK - banded 6/30, my stools are slimy, and dark. I wish I could check them for occult blood - I'd feel better knowing I wasn't bleeding. I am on liquids with protein - is that what stools look like at this stage of the game?

First day of work tomorrow - ahhhh. I got hungry today - so hungry. First time. I drank so much - it was amazing. I better make myself some jello for work tomorrow - I have 20 more days of liquids - can I do it? I sure hope so!

Protein usually takes the munchies away when I'm hungry, and if I have to have something to eat, I usually try sugar free jello - or the Breyers fruit Bar - no sugar added - they are only 25 calories. On occasion I have had Skinny Cow Fudgcycle, and V-8 I also love. I'm a week after you, and I'm starting to get those hunger pains, so far, I've been able to fix them with protein. I'm going to a BBQ today where it will be obvious I'm not eating - which I'm not thrilled about - oh well.

ahh - I don't want to weigh myself - I figure I'll wait til August when I see the doctor. I haven't been walking as much as I should. I also found those little Crystal Light things - I forgot I stuffed them in a drawer pre op so that I could have them later. I made a Pasta salad for my son's housewarming bbq (had to ask hubby to taste to make sure it was seasoned right). I made a gooseberry pie from the gooseberries in our garden for the bbq I made french bread pizza - one with little pepperoni's and red sauce, the other with pesto, chicken, and bacon. Then I made 3 loaves of banana bread. I am smelling all of this, and I licked som pesto and tomatoe sauce off my finger and it tasted soooo good. Can I really last another 20 days without food? My doctor says no milk, no sugar, no food for one month post op. And, then no milk and no sugar - preferable for the rest of your days. I'm giving this 6 months solid going by his directions - If I lose all my weight, I might moderate the milk. He's pretty darn strict - but that's ok. My calories are about 300-500 every day right now. I have 60 grams of Protein and then a bunch of sugar free drinks, the calories don't add up really quickly if that's all you're having. I'm losing, but I just *started* so right now, I won't be able to see any big changes til probably next week - since I'm so off. What do you get to eat? (instructions for post op diet)

I'm Still on liquids and I had the greatest snapple. It was a Diet Peach Tea - that tasted so good. Seems like I pour myself the same drinks every day - a couple days in a rom my calorie count was *exactly* the same. Anyone have any other really nummy drinks they enjoy?
  11. OH how utterly cool! Can you post a photo of it. I love that kind of stuff. I have never been remotely near ND - do you live there - or just invest there? Do they have good garage sales?

That sounds so good - peppermint and chocolate. I need to find a place that sells the small containers (not the massive ones) in sugar free - anyone know of one? I just wanted to share about how many family has been inspired. My niece is on a diet and has noticably lost weight (she' not very large - but she gained a few after graduating). My sister and her husband are trecking to Europe, and they are both going on a modified diet like mine. Their daughter also is doing a Protein shake in the evening. She's an athlete and isn't doing a sport this summer, wants to take off about 5-10 lbs prior to school. My sister is a great support to myself as well. I walk to her house every day, we socialize, talk about how it's going, and I walk home. It's like social weight loss. My sister can't diet alone - so this is a godsend for her - she just loves group diets : ) Anyhow - I'm pretty happy. I probably won't weight myself til August 1 - and I'm hoping to see *really* good things then. I miss food, but I'm not particularly hungry. Social eating situations get a bit sticky - I'm doing a housewarming for my son (he just got his first apartment) and I'm making food (oh my lord) and everyone will be eating but me. Gotta find a good excuse - haven't told my husbands family.

Drinking to 30 mg shakes feels like holding myself back - I could have 4 or 5 a day - but I don't ). Is it hard for you to drink the shakes? I just put them in my magic bullet with a little ice and Water - (I'm not as fond of the nectar ones).

The only thing that happened was he decided that I was ready for Protein and got my weight. He also looked at my incisions and asked if I had hearburn, abdominal pain, fever ect ect. I lasted about 3 minutes and I was gone. I see him again August 1st to see if I can have "mushies" (that will be 31 days post op). I wish I was advanced faster - but that's the way he works so I'm doing it his way. I only want to do this one time, and I don't want things to fall apart and then blame myself. I even stressed about how fast i ate Jello the other day after reading the dilitation blog. : ) I'm really excited. I go back to work on Tuesday - it's a pretty physical job, but I think I can handle it - my boss (the only one who knows), will probably cover me if there is something that is too strenuous.

    Taking Large Capsules

The office said ok - the Vitamin supplier said one month. I think I'm going to go with whole. Is there chewable calcium citrate? I just downed my first capsule. So far I haven't really felt that *feeling* that those individuals get when they start to eat food. I'm sitting here, I can feel it in there. I'll try the mushy thing next time - cuz I don't like how this feels.

    Taking Large Capsules

Well, the calcium tasted like dirt - but wasn't bitter - I think I'll put that in my protein each morning. I'm really worried about the iron. I don't want to open it up - it probably tastes nasty - has anyone tried it before?

How did everybody who had surgery on 6/30 - one week check go?

Who owns or started lapband talk?

It is not extremely expensive to operate a site as long as you get inexpensive hosting and use an inexpensive domain name service. I do several and my cost per YEAR is about $32. minus the original set up of the site. Especially if you have someone like Alexandra who's willing to moderate for you - Thanks to you both!

Who owns or started lapband talk?

I did a whois and got an address from Brooklyn, New York for the administrative contract. The Administrative contact is the person referred to as the 'owner' technically. They registered the site using something that is *not* a name - Admin Sys.

My husband and I had taken this time off to go camping. So, right for all my co workers know I'm camping (which I'm not). I tried to deal with it before I left - while in my liquid phase. I told everyone I was going on a diet with my sister (one of those Protein drink diets). If anyone asks why the tremendous success of this diet. I AM eating less, I AM exercising more, I AM eating better. I don't normally diet - and so that's how I'm dealing with this one - a miserable diet that my sister talked me into. She really is trying to do my band diet with me, but it's really hard.

I've been drinking v-8 since the first day home from the hospital - I ran out yesterday (after finishing a quart). I LOVE IT, it's salty, and thick. The nutritionist yesterday said to try clamato or something like that as well - just because the carbs or calories are lower and that might be helpful. I'll take a look. There are only 50 calories and 10 carbs per cup. I had usually 1-2 a day.

I had my surgery June 30 and my doctor might switch me to mushies on August 1. He said I am liquids - with protein shakes until then. I was Saran wrapping my daughter pizza and this little spec of tomato sauce got on my finger - what a lovely lick. I think I need to go get more v-8 juice today : )

Got on Protein shakes - plus liquid til the beginning of april. I guess my doctor says my weight loss was higher because his scale put me at 239 so a loss of 12+ lbs. First thing I did was come home and make myself a shake - it tasted sooooo goood
  24. My_o_My

    Yay!!!!!

Things to bring to the hospital Slippers - easy to slip on. Clothes - easy to slip on and off (wear them in, wear them out) Personally, I brought a little pair of shorts and a tank (with the bra built in). Those massive gowns just make you feel so unattractive and they are bulky. I used one as a bathrobe when I walked to the bathroom. I was SO glad I had my outfit - it made me feel so much better - and it was EASIER to move in bed - it's already weird - but add the loads of fabric - phew - I was glad to get out of that. Plus, if anyone wants to look at your incision - up goes the gown, and everything is exposed. This way - they only lifted up your tank. Otherwise - nothing else I brought (other than my hairbrush and toothbrush got any use). Good Luck

    Honesty

Yes, I started counting the calories - *everything* is sugar free - so like no calories from carbs, I'm not on the Protein yet - so no carbs from protein. v-8 juice and my fudgcycle bring me up to that amount. I think it's a crazy low amount of calories - but today - I should get on Proteins so things will go up - but yeah - crazy huh? what is PB?
