Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hey onder woman! Nice to meet you! I was covered by insurance, so my experience is probably a little different from those who did self pay. First, I attended a seminar at Palmyra. Then made my appt. with Dr. B. At my first appt, he answered all my questions and explained everything to me. I decided to go ahead and get the surgery, so they sent in my info to the insurance company and I was approved within a couple of weeks. I did the pre-op diet for about 3 weeks, he only requires you to do it for 2 weeks, but I decided to start it early. Within a month of my first appt I was banded! It was a really smooth process for me. Hope everything works out for you and keep us posted about your process! -

I'll just go ahead and tell ya'll that today was just a weird day for me. I usually have a lot of restriction in the mornings and not much at night, well today was just the opposite. I had no restriction this morning and throughout the day, then tonight it decided to visit me, lol. Crazy how our bands have a mind of their own sometimes! B'fast- low carb slim fast Snack- 3/4 c. cottage cheese and 3/4 c. yogurt mixed together Lunch- 1.5 c. canned chicken mixed with 1 tsp. pesto and 1/4 c. spaghetti sauce ( I told you, no restriction.....actually I felt like I could have just kept on eating) Dinner- 4 bites of BBQ pork, 2 bites of baked beans, and 2 bites of coleslaw -

bigbaby, yes my detox worked very good. I lost the 2 lbs I had gained, plus 4 more. So I made my St. Patty's day goal!!! I did it for a total of 3 days, on 2 of the days I ate a small bowl of chili for dinner. The best thing is, it really calmed my cravings. Good luck with it! Oh, I posted a recipe a while back for a crust-less spinach quiche. Here is the link http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f82/crust-less-spinach-quiche-49727/. Last time I made it I added a little bit of ground sausage to it and it was very good. Depending on how you count your food, that may or may not be for you. At the time, I was focusing on low carb, so it was fine for me. You can also change the recipe if you don't like spinach and maybe substitute broccoli for it. I made them in a muffin pan and it was perfect individual sized portions. Depending on the size of muffin pan you use, you may have to adjust the cooking time to less. I just had a thought, I used to buy a quiche mix a long, long time ago at my local grocery store. There were different kinds you could buy and all you had to do was pour it into a crust. I wonder if it could be poured into a muffin pan (with no crust) and cooked. Just a thought, I'll try to remember to look for it when I go back to the grocery store and I'll check out the nutritional info. -

Great! I've found that is just about the only way I can do it. I'm not necessarily going to do atkins, just lowER carb foods. I think we need to start a new thread just for low carbing, not just atkins. Glad things are going so well with you.........and hubby -

I am not sure what happened today, but it was completely opposite from a normal day. I had no restriction this morning and none at lunch. I went to my sister and her fiances couples shower tonight. They had BBQ, baked beans, coleslaw type foods. I went thinking I would be able to enjoy myself and eat.............nope, restriction decided to hit me tonight for some reason. This is the first time that has happened to me so it was kind of strange. I'm just glad it's back! -

Sherri, I voted for you the first time you posted for a good week, then I forgot about it. Thanks for reminding us, I'll try to remember to vote everyday. Good luck!! -
Okay everyone, I know this challenge isn't quite over, but someone needs to take on the next challenge so we can start it as soon as this one is over. It doesn't necessarily have to be centered around a holiday. I personally like the challenges being about a month long. So, if someone could come up with something to start on Tuesday, that would be great! Any takers?

Hazeleyegrl, you can do it! You only have 1&1/2 pounds to go. Remember what you told me on the last one, weight first thing in the morning, after you pee, and stark naked, lol!

Guys, I am freakin out just a little. I have had such good restriction lately and I really thought this last fill was "the one". Well, I woke up this morning and I do not have any restriction, NONE AT ALL! I've been able to eat a lot of food today. I'm not getting full at all! I have never had an experience where I didn't at least have restriction in the mornings. Even when I first started out I had morning restriction, thats why I stick to shakes for breakfast. I hope it's just a freak incident and I hope tomorrow when I wake up, I have some restriction. This is just odd for me! Has anyone else who is at good restriction had this problem? -

Hey Leslie, welcome aboard! It's nice to meet you! I know how you feel, I had to borrow money from my parents too. I told them I was going to have the surgery and I was saving money to pay for my part that insurance wasn't covering, and they offered to help me out. It was a big relief because it would have taken me a while to save up enough. Good luck with everything and let us know how it goes. -
Cornbread dressing should be fine. I ate some stove top stuffing on mushies and I added a little chicken stock to thin it out a bit. Yea, it's carby, but you should be fine as long as you don't go overboard with it.

Chickie, I hope you change your mind! You were one of the first people I saw in the before and afters, when researching, that I was just wowed by your results! Boo Boo kitty, Jachut, Nurseamy, Jfran, BabyGotBack, babygrl1234, and soooo many more that I am forgetting right now. You guys would be great for this too! We need some male pictures too! Neveragain, Manatee..............you two guys come to mind, but again, there are sooo many others I'm certain I am forgetting.

B'fast- low carb slim fast Lunch- 3/4 piece stuffed chicken breast (bacon & cheese) Dinner- Fruit salad (3/4 c. lettuce, 1/4 c. diced fresh fruit, 7 croutons, 2 tbsp. maple fig vinaigrette) -
Alex, I think my heart skipped a beat when I read your first post, lol! I'm soooo glad you were kidding! I love the idea of rotating bandsters pictures. There are quite a few people here that I would love seeing pictures of them posted at the top. Maybe their screen name and total weight loss could be posted with the picture. It inspires me to see real banded people's success and I'm sure it would inspire the newbies that are just starting out too!

WTG chocolate snaps!!!! Whooo Hoooo! I'll update you, keep up the good work!!!

It's funny the way our minds can play tricks on us. I know I was feeling awful last week because I had been eating crappy carb food. Not just feeling bad for myself, I was physically feeling bad, crappy if you will. I feel much better since my "sugar detox". Hope you feel better soon!

I'm sure their hatred for each other is mainly for ratings.

Thanks guys!! Mia- you will know when I hit Onederland...........everyone will, lol! That will be such a glorious day for me! Renewed- OMGOSH! Do you really think you could be? I know exactly what you mean about the negative tests. DH and I went years trying to get preggers before I got pregnant with my son. It can be heatbreaking. I hope things get better for you soon and hope you feel better. Whatever happens, just know we are here for you.
