Spring Into Action Weight Loss Challenge
georgia girl replied to renewedhope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well Renewed, I haven't been doing so well. I've been on vacation for the past week and I've gained 2 lbs. I was actually expecting it to be more. I have lost my restriction. I thought I was at my sweet spot from the last fill and now I hardly have any. My next appt isn't until April 24th, grrrr! I really need a fill. The good news is, I have almost saved up enough money to join the YMCA. When my hubby gets paid on Friday, I am going to go join. I'm excited about that! Maybe I will have a better update next time, lol! -
Here's what I had today. I don't think I did too bad, but I had more carbs than I should have. B'fast- low carb slim fast Lunch- 3/4 c. taco salad (no shell) Snack- Weight Watcher yogurt Dinner- egg salad, Kashi crackers

Bigbaby, how did you like the crustless quiche? I assume you liked it since you ate it more than once, lol. The good thing about that recipe, is you can do so many different things to it to change it up. -
I use Splenda. Well.........actually Altern. That's Walmarts version of splenda, it has the same ingredients and cost less. I don't use artificial sweeteners a lot, but if I'm having tea, that's what I add.

Hello! I understand your concerns with having lap band surgery. As with any surgery, there are risks. All I can tell you is how my experience has been. I had surgery in Sept. 2007 and have lost 76 lbs so far. Things have went really well for me. I now have 6.5cc in my 10cc band. I do have some restriction, but I'm still not at my sweet spot. I have never gotten anything stuck and I have never PB'ed or vomited before, yet. All I can tell you is, if I have to put up with the occasional PB, it's well worth it for me. I feel soooo much better and I love my band. In the end, no one can tell you if this surgery is right for you, except for you. Keep researching and do what is right for you. Have you been to a seminar yet? If not, I advise you to go to one. There's a lot of good info at these seminars. The best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do! Oh, can you tell me which website you got the 88% stats from? That just sounds way too high to me.

MX Scheduled for May 6
georgia girl replied to myellen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Myellen! Congratulations on your surgery coming up! They probably put you on the diet to shrink your liver. I had to do a pre-op diet too. Shrinking the liver makes the surgery much easier and safer. Good luck to you! -
I have been on vacation, so I just watched it last night! I wasn't really suprised that Chekeezie left. He was never one of my favorites, but he did have a couple of good performances. Brooke- My favorite girl by far! I love to hear her sing. Carly- She's okay. She can definitely sing but there's just something about her that isn't clicking with me. David A. - He's gotta go! I can't stand him. David Cook- My overall favorite! I love him! I thought doing "Billie Jean" was going to be a bad choice, but he pulled it off! Sounded great! Jason Castro- I started out really liking him, but he is slipping. He needs to step up his game, big time. Kristy- I was very suprised, she did a really good job. She finally picked the right song! Michael Johns- I like him a lot! He did an excellent job on his song! Ramiele- She need to go too! She bugs the crap out of me! Syesha- She has a good voice, but she bores me. She sounds the same almost every week, slow and boring.

Great NSV's Renewed!!! I have one........I've been on vacation at the beach for my sister's wedding. The photographer took some pictures of our entire family and just kept commenting on how photogenic I was. It was nice to hear someone compliment me because I really don't like having my picture taken with other people.........I always feel like the "biggest" one and it was nice to hear such wonderful comments.

Hey everyone! I am back from the beach and I have to admit, I got a little homesick while away. We had such a good time, my sister's wedding was beautiful!! I was really scared to get on the scales this morning..........but I knew I had to, so I sucked it up and did it. I did gain 2 pounds while I was gone, but honestly, I was expecting it to be more. We had soooo much junk food around the beach house. It didn't help that my restriction is MIA! I noticed it was relaxing a bit a few days before we left, now I have very little restriction. I don't have another assessment until April 24th, so I am going to have to hang in there a while. I'm not stressing over the 2 lbs, because I had a good time and enjoyed myself. Anyway, it's good to be back! -
Hey guys, just checkin in. I'm still at the beach and I'm having a great time. I haven't been counting carbs, but I'll get back on track next week. Ever since we arrived at the beach, my restiction has practically vanished to none. I though I was at my sweet spot but I don't think so anymore. I'll be ready for another fill when I get home! I didn't read all the threads because I was soooo behind, but it looks like everyone is doing great, keep up the great work!

We are at Cape San Blas. It's pretty secluded here, it's great. My son is taking a nap right now, so I have a little down time. I think we are about 45 minutes from Mexico Beach. I hope ya'll have a good time too! I don't know what the deal is, but I need another fill. Ever since I got here, I haven't had much restriction at all! I'll definitely keep my next appt and hopefully get a fill! I've been missing everyone, ya'll take care. Mia, you are doing great, don't get discouraged okay. I have 6.5 cc and I don't much restriction right now. It's a game of trial until we get there. Cheer up, you've lost soooo much weight already! -

Congrats, Allykat!! That's soooo exciting! I've always wanted to do that as well, but I just can't seem to leave all my family behind. Maybe when my son is older we could do something like that. Well, we are at the beach and having a wonderful time. It's kinda nice to not worry about the scales and food for a while. I'll probably regret it when I get home and weigh, but I'm having sooo much fun. Even though it's really cold here right now, it's sooo beautiful! We are right on the ocean and yesterday, when the sun was setting, it was soooo pretty here. I don't know when I'll be posting again, but you all have a great week and I hope to talk to ya'll soon! -

Leslie, you look great!! Big difference already! Keep up the good work! -
Thank you!! I try to stick to a low carb diet as much as possible. It's really not that hard considering that I can't tolerate bread and Pasta much. I do eat some fruits though. I don't really count calories but I do try to make wise choices and stay away from anything that too terribly high. I do not exercise like I should. I told my hubby a few weeks ago that when we get back from vacation (Monday) that I am going to join the YMCA as soon as I can. I am just now starting to feel like I have more energy and my weight loss has slowed considerably, so exercise is going to be nessecary for me to continue losing. Hope this helps, BTW, you are doing great as well!!

Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It has onions, red bell peppers, and Water chestnuts. I think the water chestnuts are what gives it a little crunch. They are diced really small, so it's not overwhelming. -

I wasn't all that hungry today for some reason, so I didn't really eat a lot. B'fast- low carb slim fast Lunch- low carb slim fast Snack- Atkins fudge brownie bar Dinner- a Bocca burger patty, 1 wedge light laughing cow cheese, 2 tbsp. spinach dip (nuked the cheese for 20 sec and mixed in the dip and used it as a topping for my burger patty) -
Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't know how I come up with some of this stuff, lol! I guess I'm just always looking for easy, practical things to do that's different. I'm crazy about spinach dips (with chips ) and I was trying to find a way to enjoy the taste of it (and make it filling), without the carbs. I never really got into canned chicken pre-band, but I just love it now. It's tasty and tender enough to go down well. I am always trying new things with canned chicken. The same ol' chicken salad gets boring to me. Onions, celery, or whatever you like in chicken salad could be added to bump up the flavor even more too! I added some chopped walnuts to mine the other day, and it was delicious! My recipes are hardly ever the same from one time to the next, lol! -
I bought the coconut ones too! I haven't tried them yet, but they look like they would taste like mounds bars (which I love). I'll let you know how I like it. I'm taking them on vacation with me. We're going to the beach for a whole week and we're leaving on Monday and we won't be back until Sunday. I probably won't be posting much at all (unless I use my hubby's i-phone, hehe). I don't know what I'll do without my lapband fix, lol.

Wow, everyone is doing sooo great! I haven't been doing so good, and on top of that, we're going on vacation for a whole week (Monday-Sunday). I am going to do the best I can and just pray I don't gain any weight! Julie, Congratulations!!!! What a milestone, I can't wait to be there. I'm very proud of you! -
