    April Exercise Challenge

Well guys, I probably won't have anything to report about exercise for a little while. I found out yesterday I have staph infection in my leg, my nose, and on my face. They had to cut open the spot on my leg to get a culture to send off, and they had to pack it with sterile gauze. It's pretty sore, so I'm not sure when I can exercise again but I hope it's soon.

They probably did it because it was "inspirational song week". I didn't take it as meaning you have to be religious to give back. That's just me though. LOL!!! I agree with you 100%!! I felt really bad for Michael, when he heard Ryan say that, he looked soooo relieved for a few seconds.......then he looked soooooo disappointed. I wanted to reach through the TV and hug him! I would have been fine with either Syesha or Carly leaving, I'm not very fond of either one of them.

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

Thanks ladies! I'm having a hard time sleeping because of all the pressure in my nose and face and my leg is soooo sore. Not only did they have to lance it, they had to pack it with sterile gauze. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I hope things are better in a couple of days. Leslie- I'm glad your surgery went well and you are home recovering nicely. Take it easy and I hope you have a quick recovery. Brina- I'm glad your first fill went well. Hope you can tell a difference when you start eating again. That upsets me too about the no shows. It would have taken me over a month to get scheduled for a fill if I had not gotten that cancelled appointment. What's wrong with people?

Parents - Where are your kids?

I love the backpack leashes! I have one that I use for my 2 year old. I've gotten plenty of "looks" from other people, but I don't care. My son just turned 2 and he is into everything, lol. Very curious boy. I mainly use it for protection from him getting kidnapped or hurt. Here's an example of why I use it: We went to the beach a few weeks ago for the first time with my son. We were walking along the beach, my son was holding my hand. He was absolutely fascinated with the Water. In a matter of just a few seconds, he managed to snatch is hand out of mine and he headed straight for the water. He was in about knee deep before I could get to him. Needless to say, the next time we went walking on the beach, he was wearing the backpack leash! I truly don't care what people think about it, at least I know he is safe when he is wearing it! Oh, and I ALWAYS use the backpack leash or the stroller when I go to a mall or anywhere that is big.

Hey everyone! Well, I got a small fill today (.25cc) for a total of 6.75 now. I am happy that the OTC has upped the amount of fills allowed per year from 6 to 9. I feel better about getting such small fills now. Will ya'll please keep me in your prayers? I went to my primary doctor today and he's pretty sure I have staph infection. I have in on my upper leg (thigh area), inside my nose (left side of face is really swollen and sore), and a couple of small spots on my face. They had to lance the spot on my leg and take a culture to send off for testing. I'm pretty miserable right now. My 2 year old son got staph when he was about 20 months old from some shots he received at the hospital. He finally got rid of it, then my dad must have got it from my son. My dad finally got rid of his, now I have it. It's pretty painful so please keep me in your prayers. I'm going to have to stop the exercising for a bit because the spot on my leg is really bothering me when I walk. I'm so disappointed about that because I just got back into the swing of exercising again. Anyway, just thought I would let you guys know. Thanks for listening.

The Natural Diet Solution For PCOS.......

I say drink the shake for breakfast, especially if you are not likely to eat anything besides that. I think we are making positive changes to our lifestyles by eating more whole foods. I don't think that's all we have to eat though. I will probably continue to eat yogurt for breakfast because I'm not much of a breakfast eater either. I got a very small fill today of .25ccs. I can't tell a difference yet but the good news is: my doctors office upped the amount of fills allowed per year from 6 to 9, so I feel better about getting smaller fills. I also went to see my family doctor today and he is pretty sure I have staph infection. He gave me an antibiotic and some cream for my nose. I'm still pretty miserable. He had to lance the knot on my upper leg and get a culture of what was inside to send off for testing. My leg hurts even worse now. I'm having trouble walking, so exercising is going to be out for a bit. I'm so disappointed because I was just getting back into the swing of exercising again. Anyway, please keep me in your prayers. How is your kiddo today? I will keep him in my prayers also. Oh, I almost forgot. Here's what I had today (on liquids, but here it is) B'fast- Water after my fill Lunch- low carb slim fast Dinner- tomato Soup And water in between meals.

The Natural Diet Solution For PCOS.......

LOL! I wondered how you ate so many taco's so early in the day, lol. I didn't do too bad today, here's what I had: B'fast- weight watcher's yogurt Lunch- 4 whole (pretty big) strawberries, 6 fresh blackberries, 12 almonds Snack- weight watcher's yogurt Dinner- 5 chicken nuggets  I go for a fill tomorrow, so I will be on liquids for 3 days. I haven't been feeling very good today at all. I will probably go see my family doctor tomorrow too. A while back, my son got staph infection from some shots he received at the hospital. He had a rough time with it but finally got rid of it. Well, after that, my dad got it too, on his arm and in his nose. He finally got rid of his and now I think I have it. I have a huge knot on my inner thigh that is red and infected. I also have a knot inside my nose that is infected. The whole left side of my face hurts and throbs. It's not fun and I feel pretty miserable. Hopefully I'll find out what's going on tomorrow. Hope you kiddo feels better too!

    April Exercise Challenge

Went to the gym today and did 30 minutes strength training (legs) and 30 minutes on the elliptical. I think exercising is really helping me get past my plateau. I was down a pound this morning............I know a pound isn't that much, but I've been stuck on the same weight (even up a few pounds here and there). Anyway, feels good to see the scales moving in the right direction!

    Biggest Loser

I voted to keep Mark in too! I don't like Roger and I want to see a woman take it this year. I think if Roger makes it through, he will win. Marks crying does irritate me, but I do think he has changed in a good way. He was a total jerk at the beginning and I think losing weight has made him a better person. I would be happy if either Ali or Kelly won. Ali has worked her butt off and I'm sure she could really lose too much more. Kelly still has a way to go so I could see her winning it if Roger doesn't make it through.

The Natural Diet Solution For PCOS.......

Hope everything goes well at the doctor's office this morning. Poor little guy, I hope he feels better soon. I think I am finally getting past my plateau! I lost a pound, whoooo hooo! I know a pound doesn't sound like something to be really excited about, but I have been plateauing for a while now and I am excited to plow past it. I'm headed to the gym in just a bit, hope you have a great day!!

All you people do is complain...

LOL! That reminds me of the Friends episode when Joey gets his eyebrows waxed for a head shot picture........so funny!!! Okay, I have a story. This is really embarrassing but I'll tell it anyway. I used to work at a bank as a teller. Well at the time, I had been on a diet and lost some weight. I had this skirt that I really liked and I knew it was too big, but me being the weirdo that I am, wore it anyway. Well, I had to go to the bathroom, so I get up and start walking. I had to walk across the lobby to get there. I'm struttin across the lobby feeling pretty good about myself and MY SKIRT FALLS OFF OF ME, in front of everyone. Just fell to the ground. I had on a girdle too! My co-workers and all the customers in the bank saw it. I was freakin mortified!! I stayed in the bathroom for at least 30 minutes until the lobby cleared out. My co-workers laughed at it for days!!

The Natural Diet Solution For PCOS.......

You did good today! I personally am not striving to stick to this religously (seems too much like a diet if I do that). My main goal is just to eat more fresh fruit and veggies. I'm not sure I can give up my yogurt, so that's another issue for me. I am fine with not having bread though, so all in all, the only thing I will be fudging on is the dairy part. Here's what I had today: B'fast- Weight Watchers yogurt (too tight this morning to eat solids) Lunch- handful of whole natural almonds, small apple, 5 blueberries Snack- small handful of cashews Dinner- 2 fruit skewers (orange, strawberry, pineapple- all fresh fruits), raw carrots and cauliflower I didn't workout today. I had a bad headache this morning so I took a break today. I will hit the gym again in the morning. How's your kiddo today?

    American Idol '08

I absolutely LOVED Jason Castro tonight, he was my favorite tonight  I have always been a huge Brooke fan, but for the past few weeks, she hasn't done well at all. She is picking the wrong songs and she needs to get back to her roots and use the guitar and piano. Unfortunately, she is fading. I think her "true" style is similar to that of Colbie Caillat. There voices aren't alike, but I think that style of music would really suit Brooke. Kristy Lee Cook did really good tonight. Although she has not been one of my favorites, she sang one of my favorite songs and she did an awesome job. Maybe her attitude will be better this week because it has been really sucking. I thought Carly did horrible tonight. I've never been a big fan of hers but she has had some really good performances. But as far as tonight, I didn't like it at all. I actually thought Syesha did a really good job. She's usually really boring to me but I thought she did the best she has ever done tonight. Good for her. What was David Cook thinking? I wanted to reach through the TV and thump his head! That was not a good song choice IMO. His is still my favorite, but he really messed it up tonight. Michael Johns did okay but he has done soooo much better in the past. I think he picked the wrong song. I thought David Archuletta did an okay job too. I wasn't jumping out of my chair or anything, but he did okay. I thought he sounded very nervous in the beginning because his voice was shaky but by the middle he shook it off. I'm still not feeling him though.

The Natural Diet Solution For PCOS.......

LOL! I know going meatless is not for everyone. I could honestly go without the meat because I've never been a big meat eater anyway. Congratulations, you made it to Onederland!! That is soooo great. I am sooo proud of you!! I had a yogurt this morning. I know that's not in the diet but I tried eating an apple and I was just too tight this morning. A lot tighter than I have been. It was the only thing I had in the house that would go down easy. My main goal is to eat more "live" foods, making sure I am eating fresh veggies and fruit. I made an appointment for a fill on Thursday. For the past few weeks, I haven't had much restriction at all, even in the mornings. Now I don't know if I should get one. I've been stuck on this plateau for a while now and I am so ready to get past it. Maybe I should just get a really small fill and see what happens, like .25cc or something. My last fill was only .5cc and it did really good for a while. I have a total of 6.5cc right now. What do you think?

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

Hey Leslie, I know you are getting excited! I'll try to answer your questions the best I can. 1. I believe the exercise rule was 6 weeks. I was cleared to do some light walking after 2 weeks, but no major exercise for 6 weeks, I think. 2. I didn't have a lot of gas pain immediately after surgery. I used the chewable Gas-X when needed. I've heard that walking around helps more than anything. 3. I've read that a heating pad works pretty good. Some people get gas trapped in the shoulder (which sounds strange to me) but several people on this board have had that happen. Most said the heating pad worked well. 4. I didn't try ice chips, I just sipped on Water and gatorade. Gatorade works wonders, especially if you are getting dehydrated. I suggest getting some. sugar-free popsicles are another good thing.

I have the Flintstone's chewable vitamins with iron. They don't taste bad to me but the gummy ones are better. I don't know if the gummies come with iron though.

The Natural Diet Solution For PCOS.......

I understand that eating organic may not be embraced by all dietitians, but ultimately it's a personal decision. I do think that eating whole organic foods is better, but I know that everyone doesn't think the same as I. I have enjoyed reading this book and I feel that the authors are very educated and knowledgeable. I feel like I am making a good decision for me and that's all that counts. Not all professional dietitians are always going to agree on everything anyway, so I always read up on anything new and make my own decisions when it comes to my health. I've left out an entire food group before on certain diets (bread, meat) so that doesn't bother me at all. I've even thought about becoming a lacto-ovo vegetarian and that would be leaving out an entire food group also. I am not endorsing this book by any means, it's just something I want to try for myself............if it works for me, that's great, if it doesn't, so be it, I'll try something else. If I do not see results from this, I will probably become a lacto-ovo vegetarian and still try to eat whole organic foods when possible. I am still trying to find my way with my band and with PCOS, trying to figure out what works best for me. That being said, thanks for your concern and good luck to you.

I take kids Flintstone vitamins. Sometimes I get the chewable and sometimes I get the gummy ones. I haven't paid much attention to the sugar but I like the way the gummy ones taste. I think Flintstone's is what Dr. B's office recommended to me. We really do need to meet. It seems like something always gets in the way. I'm ready when you guys are!

I've often wondered about the Friday's too! Now that I've said there is never anyone in there when I'm there, I bet when I go Thursday it will be packed, lol. I've seriously only seen 1 other person there at the most when I've been, and not even 1 other person a few times. Hopefully, if it continues to grow, they will realise they have to do something about it!
