    Dr. John Bagnato - Possible Leak!!

    Thank ya'll for thinking about me. Yesterday my restriction wasn't as good and it seems to be about the same today. So, I dunno? I guess I'll find out on the 29th. I'm just praying it will all work out if it is a leak. Thanks for checking up on me. I really appreciate it. I think part of the problem was Protein. With me not eating meat, I wasn't getting in enough protein. So, I've decided to add seafood to my diet. I've had some tuna and some tilapia and it's going good. I can handle seafood fine but I still won't be eating any other meats. I'm am loving all the fresh vegetables and fruits though. Last night I made a quick version of Ratatouille. Who knew I'd ever enjoy that, lol! Thanks again and I will keep ya'll updated! Have a great day!

    Who or what did you do this for????

    My son! He deserves a mom who can play on the floor, run around outside, etc. I want to do all the things with him that I got to do as a kid, like roller coasters, horseback riding, etc. I've already missed out on so much....

    Can I decide NOT to get a fill?

    It's definitely your choice whether or not you get a fill. Just politely tell your doctor you don't need one. Surely it won't be problem. I can't do scrambled eggs either. Even when I didn't have restriction and could eat things like pizza and sandwiches, I couldn't do scrambled eggs. I didn't PB, but it's the only time I thought I might. I think it's just one of those things I won't be able to eat.

    Will I ever be able to lose the weight?

    Mandi~ I'm not sure if I've ever been as tight as you are, but I do think I have the "first bite syndrome". I've read a little about here and I have to be careful with my first couple of bites (when I have good restriction). I have to take really small bites and chew really really well. Sometimes I have to wait a couple of minutes after my first 2 or 3 few bites before I can eat again. While stuffing ourselves isn't healthy, I don't think just eating 2 bites of food is healthy either. I asked if I was supposed to stop at 2 bites and my fill nurse said no. Some people have a hard time with the first few bites and just need to take it really slow. I don't know if you have the "first bite syndrome" or if you are just too tight. Have you talked with your doctor about this?

    Ratatouille

    Sounds really good. I think I'm going to try this. Seafood is the only meat I'm eating these days, so I think I may boil or grill some shrimp and add it at the end instead of the sausage or just omit the meat altogether. I think it would be good either way. I was watching the movie Ratatouille last night and I told my hubby I wanted to make this. Can't wait to try it, probably next week after I buy groceries again. I searched the net looking for a good recipe and yours looks better than any I found. Thanks for sharing.

    My taste tests of protein drinks and bars

    I found the Naked Protein zone chocolate banana at wal-mart. I have to say, I wasn't a big fan of it. I didn't care for the taste and it had too many calories and not enough protein for me. It also cost almost $4.00 for one bottle. I really like the Low Carb slim fast shakes. They have 20 grams of protein per can. A fellow bandster (losingjusme maybe?) recommended putting them in the freezer for about 30 minutes and I love it that way. It kinda taste like a frappuccino without all the work.

    Hey everyone! It's been pretty slow here this weekend. I know lots of people are out of town and I hope everyone has a safe return. I just wanted to post that I have some pretty darn good restriction today! I'm hoping it stays and we are wrong about the leak. Maybe it was just a miscalculation between my fill from Elizabeth and Leslie? I dunno, but I'm just really excited to feel some restriction for a change!

    Roller Coasters!!!

    That's great! I can't wait until I'm under 200 lbs. Maybe I will get to ride some roller coasters for a change! Congrats on the friendship too. I have a really good friend here on LBT too (I think she's my long lost sister, lol). I hope we have the opportunity to meet some day. Congrats on your success! You and babygrl have done phenomenal!

    Mandi78~ Has your eating behavior improved any in your 2 years of therapy? Maybe it's time to see a different therapist? I too am an emotional eater so I understand where you are coming from but I'm afraid if you keep eating things you know will make you vomit, you're going to hurt yourself and mess up your band. Everyone has given great advice. The online support will probably be a big help too. I think you should consider getting an unfill until you get a better handle on this. It may not sound like a good idea right now, but you could end up doing some major damage if you keep doing what you're doing. Good luck and I hope you find the help you are looking for.     I'm wasting money peoples!

    I ususally either order a cup of soup or order a regular entree and take home the leftovers. I'll ocasionally order off of the kids menu but most of the time the kids menu is filled with crappy deep fried foods. I have found that my stomach doesn't handle fried foods very good anymore so I try to steer clear of it. If I am somewhere that has a good side item menu, I'll just order something from that (like a sweet potato, corn on the cob, steamed veggies, etc.). That way I'm not wasting money.

    Great NSV's Harkingluv! jjsmiles~ Of course that is a true NSV! That's amazing! What an accomplishment. Oh, I have one more I forgot to mention. I can FINALLY wear my wedding rings again! I haven't been able to wear them since I was pregnant with my son almost three years ago! DH said he's glad I can wear them because he wants people to know I'm taken, lol! He's so funny....
