georgia girl replied to kimmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Do share.....I would love the recipe! Yesterday B'fast~ protein shake Lunch~ corn on the cob, a few shrimp Dinner~ 1 small crab cake, a few bites of cooked carrots and green beans Dessert~ piece of chocolate chip pecan pie  -
Bonnie~ WTG for taking control of your son's food portion. I totally agree with you. Renewed~ Congrats on completing week 4! If you don't feel like you are ready to move on, don't push it. Listen to your body...you will know when you are ready. You're doing a great job!!! Kathy~ It's okay to repeat. I didn't feel like I was ready to move onto week 2, so I did an extra day of week 1 before moving on. I will probably do the same with week 2. You are doing great. Keep up the good work! Sugarbean~ Great idea about sneaking extra time in to see if you are ready to move on. I'll have to try that! I am going to try to run today. My ankle is much better. The only time it bothers me is when I rotate my ankle in a circular motion, and even then, it's not too bad. But it doesn't bother me at all when walking. Everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work!

Hey Les! I posted this on the other thread but I'll post it here too. ((HUGS)) Les! I know I've already talked to you about this a little through PM, but he obviously didn't think before speaking (or laughing in this case). I told my DH about us doing the 5k and he didn't say anything negative......BUT, a couple of weeks ago when I told him I was going to start the couch to 5k, he had the most puzzled look on his face. I could tell he was shocked. I think what helped the most was the fact that he has seen me jogging and he has seen the progress I have made in just 2 weeks. He probably thought I would give up on it but I think we are both shocked at the fact that actually love running (or jogging rather). Believe me, my DH says stupid stuff all the time....and not just to me! Sometimes I just cringe when he is talking to people, lol. He doesn't make a point to think things through first, lol. Hey, something good did come out of it.....you are more motivated now than ever!! He can eat your dust when we are running that 5k, lol!!

Dr. John Bagnato - Callaway Gardens Walking Challenge
georgia girl replied to a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hey Leslie! I am definitely interested. Do you know what time it starts on Sunday? -
The funny thing is, I've always said I wasn't that scared of snakes. To my knoweldge, rats were my biggest fear. Well.....not anymore! Seeing them outside hasn't bothered me all that much. I guess it's different when it's in your house. We rent our house, so we called our landlord yesterday and he said he was sending someone over today to look for possible entries. It's a pretty old house, and as we looked around there are several places it could have come in. We have never had any problems with mice or anything else, ever, so I dunno where it came in but I am totally freaked. I'm looking around as I am typing....no joke! My ankle is a little sore, but not too bad. It's not swollen so I think it's fine. I still plan on doing day 2 of week 2 tomorrow.

Yesterday was not a good day for me. We found a SNAKE in our house!!! Granted it was just an oak snake, but to me, a snake is a snake! I am soooooo paranoid that there are more I barely slept a wink last night. I begged DH to stay home today but he couldn't. Seeing that snake has given me the heebie jeebies. But, I did run yesterday. I went ahead and moved on to week 2. All was going well until the last interval. I stepped on a good sized rock, twisted my ankle a little, and scraped up my hands and leg. I think my ankle is okay to keep running though. It is a little sore today, but not bad. Anyway, I am hoping today is a much better day...

I bought a pill slicer to cut my pills. They are usually around the pharmacy area. I usually cut mine into 3 pieces and it's much easier with the slicer.

Okay Seriously how much do you eat?
georgia girl replied to armywife4life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree. The 1/4 cup rule has always bothered me. I can usually eat at least 3/4 c at a time. There are days I probably eat about 1/2 cup at each meal, but I have 5-6 meals a day when I do that. I don't measure religiously so I sometimes estimate. 1/4 cup, 3x's a day, is not enough IMO. -
Love your avatar pic! It's nice to see a face to go with the name. You look great!

Are you doing any exercise? Exercising regularly will make a big difference if you are not already doing it. Even if you just walk some everyday, it will help out a lot. I'm sure once you get better restriction, the weight will start coming off a little faster too. Sorry you feel frustrated but just try to be patient. It takes a little time to adjust to new eating habits so just do the best you can until you get another fill. Good luck!

Hi, skinipete here!
georgia girl replied to skinipete's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Skinipete and welcome to LBT! Congrats on making it to ONEderland! 27 pounds is great! -
Great job Trish! If there is one thing I've learned, it's that you can't always go by the scales. I have PCOS too and it does slow weight loss down for many, but it doesn't matter as long as you are losing. Are you on Metformin or any other meds for PCOS? I have noticed that when I am consistent in taking my ActoplusMet, my weight loss is much more consistent. Keep up the good work and good luck to you!
-
Yes, I do both. I didn't start weight training until a few months after my surgery though. If you do any weight training, just take it easy and slow to start with and if you feel any pulling or pain you should stop.
-
Yesterday was my running day. I struggled a little but I think I just didn't eat enough before my run. I will probably do some strength training today and maybe do the bike some. Glad your day went well yesterday. It was much easier for me when I downloaded the podrunner. Are you running again on Wednesday?

Leslie, try this link. I'm not 100% sure if it will work but it's worth a try. Click on the link and then click on MP3 podcasts at the top. It shows each week in mp3 format, so maybe it will work. Podcasts

I am one of those people who cannot handle scrambled eggs, with or without good restriction. I finally have some decent restriction now (WHOO HOO!). I was just wondering how deviled eggs would be. For those of you that can't handle scrambled eggs, can you eat deviled eggs okay? Do they go down better/worse/the same? I would just make some and try it out but my family doesn't like them and I don't want to go through the trouble of making them if I can't eat them because they would go to waste. Thanks!
